OK, this is my first review ever, of any type of establishment. I have been meaning to write about this place but been too lazy. finanly I saw one other review and I just had to write. thats how much I love Abodonia. Here is the deal… I would easily give this place a 5 or 6 or 7(if it existed) but i can’t. and the reason I cant is because of the inconsistensy of this place. therefore, i am giving it a 4. the food is amazing. as the previus reviewer said, the kofta kebab, is out of this world. its juicy, flavorful and simply the best kofta over rice you will ever have. I always get the chicken and kofta combo($ 10) it is a skewer of kofta and one skewer of chicken breast(chunks of nicely marinated chicken, its simply delicious). the rice is also delicious and fluffy. here is what I have a problem with. The inconsistensy. 1.the cart shows up when it wants. it was missing in action for couple months and now its back again. he shows up whenever he wants. no consistency what so ever. 2. the kofta is usualy fresh, juicy and delicious but sometimes, you can tell its been premade and he just throws it on the fire.(still delicious but not the same) 3. the rice is cold sometimes and it does stick together and is not as fluffy 4. sometimes the old man puts on way too much white sauce, so all you can taste is the white sauce. and when you tell him enough, he keeps on going. all you can taste is the white sauce. if he could be more consistent with showing up and the quality of his food, he has easily one of the best street food in all of NYC. you definately have to try Abodonia and see for yourself.

3.5 *s overall! I can’t believe that no one in Astoria reviewed this yet. This food cart can be found on the southwest corner of 38th&30th from about 5 pm to 4 am. 4 solid *s for the kofta kebab. Always perfectly grilled, tender and full of flavor. I get the kofta & rice, which is $ 8 and comes with a salad. Top this off with their spicy hot sauce(they’re not kidding when they say it’s hot, it REALLY is, and I’m someone who can take quite a bit of heat) and tahina, and you have on terrific budget meal. I’m taking off a half star because sometimes the rice is out a too long and you get a few overly dry clumps(otherwise, it’s nice and fluffy), and sometimes the salad is a little sad and wilty(a little, not too much, but definitely noticeable).
