Walked in off the street for mid-day snack. Even though the place looks like a candidate for condemnation, I notice the A rating from the restaurant inspectors. The pizza is quite good and served hot. I gave the guy three bucks for my two slices and can of pop. No chance at getting change. Counter guy ran away. Stood at front counter, ate my pizza while viewing the garbage on the street and curb. NYC is great. What a pleasant dump.

If you are looking to have an immediate bowel movement, this place is for you. They use cheap imitation cheese and do not cook the pizzas all the way through. I wouldn’t even encourage the Mercury Bar crowd to stop here after a night of festivities. Seriously, of all the 99 cent pizza stands in the City, this is by FAR the worst.

I don’t care. Go here drunk, pull out whatever singles you have and order as much pizza as your heart desires. Eat it standing up at the counter or plop your little bum down on the floor outside. You won’t regret it.

SCAM!!! If the owner is reading this, YOU and YOUREMPLOYEESAREPATHETIC! Almost the same experience as another Unilocaler(see Jessica J’s comment below). My boyfriend was holding our dog outside and gave me $ 20 to get 3 beef patty. I definitely remember he gave me $ 20 because he joked and said don’t go crazy with the money. I went in and gave the guy $ 20 and asked for 3 beef patties. He gave me $ 4 and some coins back, I told him I gave him $ 20 and he said I gave him $ 10. I went outside and confirmed with my boyfriend again. My boyfriend went in and told them we gave them $ 20. He went through all those clown moves like before. Opened the register and said there was no $ 20 there, trying to empty his pocket and said there was no $ 20. We pointed out there’s a camera and he can check. He just ignored us and went about his business, acted all busy baking pizza and beef patties. My boyfriend kept staring at him and told him I am still waiting for your change. He threw back the $ 10 and said keep your money. I remember when I first moved to the neighborhood and went to this place, there were some tourist and they tried to pay by credit card, they said cash only. The tourist said we only had Euros, and they said ok, how much Euros do you have? I left before the conversation was over, I am 99% sure that he tried to scam the tourists with a terrible conversion rate! This pizza joint may be able to trick drunk college kids in the area or some tourist. However, a lot of people who read or will read this will not go to your pizza joint, my neighbors will not go, I also spread the word in my co-op building and you lost all our business. On a side note, when I mentioned this to our doorman, this pizza joint was charging people $ 8 a slice during Hurricane Sandy since they are one of the few stores who still have power. DISGUSTING!!!

COUNTYOURCHANGE, PEOPLE! My boyfriend and I had an unpleasant encounter with the guy who usually runs the place, presumably the owner/manager. My boyfriend gave him $ 5 and asked for one slice. The guy took the $ 5 and started dillydallying, turning around to pretend to stock drinks while waiting for the pizza in the oven. After he handed over the pizza, my boyfriend asked for the change. The guy said(and I quote), «NOCHANGE.» He made a show of opening the cash register and claiming that there were no $ 5 bills in there. How is that even possible? He put up quite a fight until I pointed to the surveillance camera and told him to check the footage. Moral of the story? If you’re going to scam customers, don’t try to do it when they’re sober. It’s insulting. I’ve noticed that it’s a popular place with the younger crowd so I wouldn’t even be surprised if he built his fortune stealing from middle schoolers… I used to come here after work for the occasional cheap slice, which is decent in and of itself, but they have since lost my business.

It ‘s really a dollar. What can you get for a dollar? A slice of hot cheese pizza. It is like a snack. They have cherry cola. Not bad for a dollar.

Got three slices of cheese pizzas for $ 3! It was pretty decent pizza, and the service was really fast. The slices really are fresh because they pull each pie out of the oven so that the slices are piping hot. Like any other on-th-go places, there was no seating area, but there is a small counter that you can eat at.

Is it great pizza? No. Is it 99 cents? Yes! Is there much else you need to know? Seriously. So many people say all pizza is good pizza, but most us know that’s ridiculous. This pizza is definitely below NYC pizza standards, but it’s probably equivalent to most PA pizza, which is very average. For 99 cents, at 2−4am, I’m cool with that. For pepperoni you can double that price. And $ 1 for a soda. I got out of there last weekend with 3 slices and a soda for $ 6. I was happy and I think you would be too.

Solid 4.0-star pizza joint! The pizza isn’t the best that I have ever had but certainly above average especially when you consider the price of $ 2.50 for 2 slices and a coke. In comparison to where I am from, Syracuse — NY, it does beat out most of the competitor sadly. My 4.0-star rating is based on the combination of taste and cost which I find unbeatable in and out of NYC. Keep up the good work. My recommendation: come here for fast cheap and pretty decent pizza.

BEWARE: The man with the mole makes a habit of ripping off drunk people. Because I am a cheap person, I make a habit of counting my change even while sloshed. I don’t think there has ever been a time when he’s given me my full change without asking twice. In fact, sometimes even if you call him out he will give you a couple more bucks but still leave you short. If it’s a slice, he usually tries for a dollar or 2… Get a full pie and he’s tried for $ 4 or $ 5 extra. It’s fun to give him a large bill and see how much he’ll try to take. I’ve warned friends and they have experienced the same. Having said that, I keep coming back(clearly) because– come on, it’s $ 1 slices. 5 stars for a deal that can’t be beat, 1 star reduction for being a %?!#. TL;dr– Mole man steals money while selling good pizza.

Great pizza for a buck. Is it the best NY pizza? Of course not. But if you are looking for a good, quick slice… or some late-night food, this is a great spot. The flavor and crust was surprisingly good. You can get a whole pizza for $ 8. Why not?!

I love this place. For 1 dollar slices, they are particularly amazing. I just came across it waiting for a bus with friends and now I have been introduced to the world of dollar pizza’s. And what an amazing world it is. I just remember the crust and the cheese being exceptionally delicious. and all for literally one dollar. My pizza world has definitely changed.

Surprised, to say the least… When you think of something that is a $ 1, you think cheap and low quality. Not this place, good pizza for what you are paying. If you wanna pay $ 20 for a pizza go to Grimaldi’s, which is best pizza in NYC(Brooklyn). But you want something quick and good go here… Just watch out for the $ 2.75 combo, if you add toppings then they charge you the regular price for slices and drinks(about a $ 1 more). No biggy, just a warning…

Terrible slices in a tiny location. The venue is tiny and dingy, and the pizza itself has a terrible consistency and tastes terribly undercooked. Go buy a supermarket freezer pizza and stick it in your toaster for a better slice. Don’t waste your time or dollar to come here.

How can anybody give this place a bad review? For goodness sakes, you get a slice of pizzza for a DOLLAR! Obviously it’s not going to be gourmet pizza… But it’s ONLY A DOLLAR! Put a little parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes on your slice and enjoy it while standing at their teensy bar that looks out at the Empire State Building. I love this place. And don’t complain — it’s only a dollar. You spent 2.5 times that much on your bus fare and 4 times that much on your crappy cup of burnt coffee.
