Rebecca was the BEST. Hospitable, friendly, great personality, great drinks. Very welcoming place. Great jukebox(as everyone has posted). Treated us like old friends; the kind of service that makes you return on every visit to the city.

Went here last night and the bartender started an argument with my roommate. The girl quite literally ruined our night. I work in restaurants and I was shocked by the way she was acting. She was so disrespectful that I will not go back to this bar and will stop my friends from supporting her at all. I have never written a Unilocal review, but the bartender was so rude that I felt like I had to.

This place has always been one of my fave watering holes in LES and likely all of NYC. They got the dive bar ambiance down perfectly and the bartenders make decent drinks. I definitely would recommend visiting on a weekday night to schmooze with their colorful regulars rather than the weekend, where you will likely encounter some annoying college girl from Long Island puking her brains out.

Historical dive bar that completely represents the grittiness of the East Village. I lived in the city for 13 years and this place was always my favorite. Many good memories. Warning: if you’re easily offended by the diversity of the village, stay in midtown. Best jukebox for indie rock and the bartenders were always very cool. 7B is a landmark that was in great American films from the Godfather, the Verdict, Crocodile Dundee to Sex in the City. Hang out with the«pros», meet the locals, see Iggy Pop, and have a stiff one!

I went out to drink here with a group of friends last Thursday. This place is a grungy no frills bar, which I normally appreciate, but the atmosphere wasn’t chill. The back area looked pretty disorganized too like they were working on some sort of home improvement project that didn’t get finished. The crowd was pretty cookie cutter colleg-y folks which is not my cup of tea. Bartender was nice but this place was just kind of boring.

Other than the cute bartender and the pinball machines, this place is a complete shithole. Definitely will not go back.

Oh how I love this place. It’s a no frills bar that feels so old timey and yet really modern. I love this place so much I actually wrote about it for a photo anthology. There’s something comforting about it. Also it’s been the home of a lot of movie sets and most recently Jessica Jones(so if you are a fan, like me, go check it out)

Generally it’s an amazing dive bar with great service and a good jukebox. Patrons here tend to be pretty insular in that it’s hard to meet new people and just socialize. Maybe it’s just me, but they give off a Williamsburg vibe, if you’re into that kinda thing. Personally, I’d rather a crowd that was more engaging, but I don’t discredit the bar for this. Cheap drinks, low key ambiance, definitely worth a visit.

Another place I’ve been meaning to get to and only stumbled into for the first time recently. I came in after running into a friend unexpectedly outside and we decided to pop in for a drink. A nature documentary and a cooking show were playing on a couple of the TV’s not occupied with sports(always dig that, mixes it up a little). Music is of course fantastic, it’s a dive. They had a bouncer on a Sunday night, which was a little surprising, but he was friendly. As was the bartender who later recommended we go to Supper for dinner. Wish I could remember your name love– you were right about the chicken parm! Blue Moon, Stella, and Stella Cider on tap. The woman’s bathroom smelt GREAT! I have no idea why.

If you’ve ever wandered around the East Village during NFL Sunday and tried to find a bar that you could get in to(good luck) or get a seat at(good one!), you know the struggle. Not the struggle on Monday, you heavy drinker you, the struggle to find a place to sit, have some beers, chat with your friends, and watch a game. Well, this is the place to do it. It’s secret enough that the atmosphere isn’t overrun with the craziness of the rest of the neighboring bars on 1st or 2nd Ave, and they have TVs showing all of the games and decent-ish prices. Not a bad spot.

Headline: Nasty Bartender Gets Herself Angry We were a big group. One couple brought a baby and the bartender(who was not very friendly to start with) almost jumped over the bar to scream at us to take the baby away. She was doing her job – they have strict no under 21 rules – but jeez, did she need to be so nasty? We all looked at her, baffled. It was like babies made her come out in hives. And then she just started to wind herself up, more and more, until she was screaming off the top of her lungs from the bar. Bye!!!

I broke up with my long term fwb at this place. For that reason, it will always have a place in my heart. Oh, and they have Stella Artois Cidre on tap.

This shouldn’t be one of my favorite bars in the city, but it is. Why? I don’t know. Probably because it’s nobody else’s favorite bar, so it’s usually pretty empty on Friday and Saturday nights. And also because the drinks are cheap. And the music is okay. If you like a good dive bar, this one is so middling in every way that it’s actually pretty perfect.

Great little dive I’ve ended up at when I should have been on my way home, but why go home when you can sit at a table covered in Bud Light and order pitchers with your friends.

Visited this dive last Saturday for some day drinking and I was thrilled– I now have another affordable and authentic drinking hole in my neighborhood. It is a true dive, big horseshoe shaped bar along with some booths and tables. They have everything I’ve come to expect in a good dive bar. $ 11 bud light pitches, cheap well shots, and a feisty bartender They also have some arcade games, including big buck which is a fav of mine. I will def be back soon!

Went to this bar after yrs of hearing that the bar where Frankie gets strangled in «The Godfather Part II» is still around. And yes, its a dive bar. Went on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised that for the most part, it still looks like it did in the movie, sort of. I had the Bacardi Oakheart punch, which in hindsight I prob should not have ordered since even the bartender raised an eyebrow. But it was decent. They have the usual beer selection that a dive bar should have. It was a younger crowd but it was a Sunday. They have a bar in the middle and booths and tables around the edges. The booths are not the most comfortable but I am sure after a few drinks, you’ll probably not notice. Darn good dive bar.

7B is a pretty awesome dive bar. Last night, the bartender had a great Weird Al playlist going, how awesome is that! We go in there and have the Sam(named for the friend that I go with) which is a shot of Jameson and a bottle of Bud. Not a bad combo — I’m generally a bit more of a beer snob than that, but I can relax my standards every once in a while for a good time.

Vazacs Horseshoe Bar, aka 7B, aka Red Door, is the epitome of a divey sports bar, with pitchers of beer, lots of TV screens, and arcade games everywhere. It knows what it is, and it’s not ashamed. I’ve never heard anyone actually call it Horseshoe bar, so maybe it’s time to change the name. Anyways, you can tell the divey-ness of a bar by how dirty the bathroom is, and boy, is that bathroom dirty. Prices are on par with most dive bars in Alphabet City, and they occasionally have some different beers available from month to month, which is definitely appreciated. My friends and I often come here as a pre-game for going out in the LES, as it serves as a good halfway point. Music is usually on the grungier side, with some rock and punk mixed throughout. The space, although a bit worn, is actually pretty big and you can usually always find an open table in the back of the bar. It’s never usually too crowded here, which makes it a perfect place for the small group, drink-a-lot-at-a-bar-for-a-really-long-time nights. I’ll be back if I’m looking for cheap drinks and stumbling my way through Alphabet City.

Cheap bear($ 5 natty tall cans), dive bar ambiance. Ok place to catch a game, but nothing special. Was funny to see the handwritten sign over the bar offering Cristal, Dom Perignon and the like for 200 – 350 a bottle. Who on earth would order fine french Champagne at this place?

Good dive bar, they let you order food to the bar which is always a plus. We ended up here after hopping around to quite a few bars. They were quick to serve us beer, drinks, and shots and even helped my buddy out by charging his phone behind the bar. Definitely one of the better chill bars in the area.

A good dive bar. I’ve been in much older bars in NYC, but none felt quite as old as this place, and I don’t necessarily mean that as a compliment. This is the sorta dive bar that feels like it’s been waiting for a good cleaning for a couple of decades. The bathrooms are pretty rough, although the graffiti here has a certain snap to it; for example, «Your Dockers make me sad.» Drinks are cheap. Music’s good. You could do worse, than the Horseshoe.
