I’ve been coming here since around 2005. I always enjoy the brunch it’s simple, never obey priced and yummy. What more is there to say?

PERMANENTLYCLOSED Stopped by last night for dinner and sadly learned it was there last night, yes closing the doors after 32 years. Rents are souring in EV.

This is actual good food in a place without pretense. I’m thinking it is going to be a hangout of mine since I just moved by the street! I had delicious and fresh guacamole as well as the California Omelet and it was fantastic and huge! Cannot wait for spring so I can sit outside!

I just realized that I’ve eaten here plenty of times but for some reason never reviewed it probably because I think of it as an extension of my kitchen as opposed to a restaurant since it’s practically next door. Lots of great things on the menu here and fairly easy to get a seat on the weekends for brunch without a reservation. You also get a lot of food that is filling and good for cheap. A great staple.

Awesome place. Bartender is a darling, thank you for helping with my phone! Lifesaver. Stella on draft, as well as many other favorites. Tilapia ceviche was really, really good. Great setup with bar being separate from main sitting area, very comfy. I enjoyed my food, drink and reading my Nook while waiting for phone to come to life. You bet I will be back!

When I first moved to EV I thought this place was the dopest of the dope. My young naïve self had only seen the likes of Virage(yuck), so naturally I thought 7A walked on water. My yoda-like wisdom now tells me 7A is solid, but nothing life-altering. If you go though, you should definitely: 1) go for brunch 2) sit outside and people watch 3) enjoy those breakfast cocktails and $ 5 additional cocktails still, a great value and a solid choice

Went for brunch. My girlfriend ordered chicken and waffles and I ordered the eggs Benedict. When it came we switched and we both loved our dishes. Place was packed but service was great came with a drink and only 15 per peron plus tip.

Super cozy spot for a well priced and inclusive brunch. They offer a prix fixe menu for $ 15 which includes your choice of coffee or tea, an alcoholic beverage, and choice of brunch entre. The menu is a vibrant collection of brunch items with a bit of latin twist or southern, i.e. lobster quesadilla, scrambled egg burrito, juevos rancheros, chicken and waffles with homemade maple gravy, crab cakes benedict. Service was good, not great, but everything was taken care of when asked. The abstract art on the walls and the relaxing island-ish music made for a really comfortable dining experience. Will certainly be going back for brunch and I recommend to anyone looking for a new casual brunch location.

I ordered a sandwich from here, and while it wasn’t «out of this world», what really stood out about this place was the service. Maybe it was just our waiter’s work ethic, or maybe it’s just how people are in the area, but he was friendly, tentative with our water glasses and easy to flag down. It’s annoying when you have to desperately find your waiter to get the check. But of course, it’s not a large place, and you can be kind of cramped while eating your meal. Then again, this is NY and certain places simply aren’t spacious. If I was in the area, I would go back, but probably wouldn’t venture there randomly. It didn’t stand out enough for me.

Food was really slow to come out. 20 minutes for eggs and bacon? I think they were waiting for the hens to lay the eggs. If you have ample time, this is an easy-going place to chill. Good: — Amazing sweet potato fries — bright lights and right by Tompkins Square Park — 24 hours Bad: — Slow service — Cramped table space

Stumbled in for a post-drinking dinner around 11pm on a Friday night. Not too busy, but not too empty. The menu highlighted various salads, burgers/sandwiches/wraps, and pasta’s. My friends and I stuck with the salads and burgers/sandwiches and everyone seemed happy. I had a generous amount of goat cheese on my salad(enough to enjoy some with every bite!) which is a rarity these days. On the whole, the prices of the entrée’s were priced between $ 8-$ 12… very affordable and reasonable. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

The healthy bowl is a great light yet satisfying option with fresh steamed vegetables, tofu, and dressing. Get the carrot and ginger-scallion, and mix them up. It’s delish and virtuous! Will be back to try more of the menu. Staff are friendly and very efficient.

I always enjoy coming here, number one reason… It’s cheap and the food is good! Second reason, it’s open 24 hours. French fries are one of my foodie weakness and they have really good fries.

I had this place bookmarked as an eventual brunch location but had to go in when I passed by on a late weeknight. Aside from the amusing random girl who walked in and strangely asked the bartender whether they have root beer floats, sighed when they didn’t and then insisted I enjoy my quesadillas, it was a comfortable relaxed experience. Never would I have expected to find, much less order, lobster quesadillas and lobster macaroni and cheese. Very adequate quantity, tasty lobster, good crowd and I could have easily ordered another round of the same dinner when I was done. The bartender took very good care of everyone too, even me with my high-maintenance water drinking. Another thing that made it memorable was the conversation we had about Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Apparently it was the one-year anniversary of her death and there was a photo circulating online congratulating her on one year of sobriety. Funny and horrible at the same time. Definitely coming back!

1. Prix fixe brunch menus are the stuff! Mimosa was on point. Not a huge selection to choose from though. I got the eggs benedict as my eggs were a bit over cooked. I like my eggs benedict to be runny.): 2. Typical brunch affaire in ABC City. You’ve got your hipsters, normal people like me, some tourists, and then random people eating sadly by themselves. The one thing we all had in common was that everyone was super loud. I had to almost shout to talk to my friends. 3. Maybe that’s why 7A didn’t quite do it for me. I like to think of brunch as a civilized meal. I like to think of mimosas, and quiet chatter, soft music and a nice environment. 7A was like the exact opposite. 4. Their bathroom is unisex. Stalls are private. I hate weird bathrooms.

Usually an observation about the music would come at the end of a review. Or in a footnote. But I’m going to put it up front, because it really made the night… All Talking Heads, all the time. And not just an album on repeat or some popular stuff, they played Cities, Life During Wartime and a whole bunch of other stuff. Oh yeah the food. Nachos were piled high, and gooey throughout. The latter is hugely important. I hate when nachos have a layer of cheese on top that quickly hardens and a bunch of dry chips underneath. These were done well. My burger was also good. I asked for medium, and it may have come out medium well, but it tasted pretty good. Fries were solid too. Beer selection was on the smaller side, but fine. Some good micro brew choices. Attention to detail is important, and 7A still exists because they care about them.

Wow! It is open 24 hours. Who would have thought that? The wine was pretty average and nothing to say great things about. Waitress was ok too. Nice spot to bring a dog outside if you have one. The dogs were pretty much all just hanging out. The place is a pretty chill place to hang out.

My boyfriend and I were searching for a good restaurant for dinner on a crowded Saturday night in the East Village. We wanted something quaint and cute with a semi-romantic vibe. 7A is casual but certainly served just that. There was plenty of seating available and they put us right in the window, perfect spot for 2 people on a date. Prices were very reasonable. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken cutlet sandwich with sweet potato fries and I ordered off the specials menu: fettuccine in tomato sauce with shrimp and calamari. It came with a side of garlic bread. The servings were extremely generous and there was a ton of shrimp and calamari in my dish. I loved my entrée. Everything was seasoned very well and it had a ton of flavor so I didn’t feel like I had just ordered pasta with sauce for $ 13. This is the type of place that pleases anyone because it has a ton of items on the menu, and offers a wide variety of specials so you can feel like you’re getting something a bit more exciting. I really think you could bring anyone here and they would enjoy their experience. 7A was exactly what we were looking for on a night where we felt like doing something, but didn’t want to go all out. The food was great, prices were reasonable, service was attentive, and décor was nice enough. Definitely will be visiting again in the near future.
