7-Eleven’s expansion(or domination) into NYC continues with this newest outpost in Hamilton Heights across the street from Super Foodtown(which itself is a rebranded Pathmark). It’s location is optimal, two blocks from the subway and at the intersection of Frederick Douglass and 145th street. The size of the operation is modest compared to some of their larger outfits, but it’s clean and bright so that’s a start. While not a bodega, there are a few staples to be had; the bulk of their operation will likely be centred around their lotto, cigarettes, beer, prepared food options, and of course — coffee. The coffee situation will definitely be interesting; within a one block radius you can get Dunkin, Starbucks, Jimbos, and now 7-Eleven coffee. Two points work in their favor: cheaper than most coffee and 24 hour access. Its too early to see how the service will be, which is what will either make this location or break it(as all 7-Elevens sell mostly the same thing); the people here were nice enough. NOTE: you’ll have to get an associate to come with a key to unlock the refrigerator or freezer for those items. Welcome to Harlem, 7-Eleven. Hope this is the start of a convenient relationship. Wha
