Came here to watch a basketball game, ordered a 12 $ old fashion for a half full glass… Bartender was nice but came to a cheap bar for good drinks and left feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth, I live in the area and won’t be back

I have lived in Norwood now for 4 years. I have been looking for a go to place where I can get a cold beer and great food. Napper Tandy’s is hands down the place! This is a seat yourself establishment. Anytime I have been here(between 6 – 8), I have never had any trouble finding a table to dine. The wait staff are friendly and have always been awesome! The food coming out of the kitchen is really something else!!! I would highly suggest the fried pickles, any off the pizzas, and the turkey burger makes me want to walk to the back kitchen and hug the chef for a slightly awkward period of time! Don’t be nervous to try this bar(as I first was) because your worried about townies, everyone that goes to this bar is looking for the same thing, a place that is low key, chill, and a bar that is pumping out great food and service. This is defiantly a hidden jewel. If your looking for a place to spend a cozy evening while enjoying cold beer great food, this is a place to be!

Great pub! I love the pizza and wings here. They have 2 bars here which I really like. They have a great draft selection which they rotate frequently, there are usually at least 3 really delicious IPAs on tap. Every time I go here they have new specials, so they must change them often. Great staff too!

Did a 5k here and had a great time at the bar afterwards. Mother put on a great race and the post party was great especially the food. Would come back.

Awesome place, I like the left side better, its like 2 bars un one, pick your vibe, switch it up. Pineapple jalapeño pizza is deliciously delicious. One of their bartenders is built like a tank.

My boyfriend and I tried this place again last October and somehow my review got caught in Drafts. It happened to be my birthday and we figured we’d grab a bite before meeting up with friends later. The service this time was fantastic and the food came out hot and correct. Thank you for making my birthday a little better.

If your expectations match the set of generally safe«small local pub» assumptions, Napper Tandy’s won’t surprise or displease you. Their tap beer selection isn’t stellar but it’s not boring. They’ll usually have one or two interesting seasonal beers and occasionally get some good ciders, too. Their food varies from mediocre(many of their fried apps are kind of sub-par) to really excellent(their fish & chips and shepherd’s pie are fabulous). They also make a very solid burger. If you’re trying to impress the pants off a visitor, don’t bring them here. However, if you’re feeling like going out and want a thoroughly decent dinner and drink for not a huge amount of money, they’ll take care of you. There’s a small patio in the back, two different bar areas, and occasionally some cigarette smoke from the guys who take two steps outside the propped-open door to light up. The atmosphere is very local and reasonably intimate, the service is pretty good, and they’re careful to have relevant sports on multiple TVs. Napper Tandy’s is not any kind of revelation but it’s a nice place to relax and have a casual lunch or dinner. You’ll need to make your own verdict but it’s worth a visit to do so.

I’ve stopped in here a few times over the years. Hadn’t been back in a while, and realized I shouldn’t have strayed away. They have Irish music back, which is always a plus for an Irish pub. It was good«craic» as they say. Turned an average Sunday into a fun afternoon. That being said I decided to hang out and have some food. They must have put a new menu in over the last year or so, it looked great. Ended up getting the steak tips, perfect medium rare and very tender. The bartender explained that they use tenderloin as opposed to the tough stuff most around use. I will definitely be stopping back in here again.

Irish step dancers performed tonight and brought a touch of Ireland to Norwood. Great food and great drinks. Tim and Erin are the best bartenders! Happy St. Patty’s to all.

Napper Tandy’s is the perfect place to drink a great beer, watch a game(been here for Bruins about 10 times) and eat some surprisingly tasty pub fare. I’m a huge fan of their Irish spring rolls and pizzas, but their fish and chips are amazing. Fresh fish, huge portion which is legitimate shareable(this is coming from someone with a hearty appetite too). The beer selection revolves pretty routinely, but they always have great choices. Their whiskey inventory is also pretty extensive… it is an Irish place, after all. It’s a townie place, but not one of those places where, if you’re new in town, a record doesn’t suddenly *SCREECH* when you walk in and people turn to stare at you. Rather, Norwoodians are a very welcoming folk. You’ll like it here.

This place took me by surprise! One of The best veggie burgers I’ve ever had and it’s at a townie bar on a side st! Blink and you’d miss this place! It’s now my favorite spot in Norwood! Very impressed!

I have visited Napper Tandy’s on several occasions, usually for drinks rather than food. It is divided into two sides; left side is quieter and better for watching a game or dining. Right side when I have been there has had music. My favorite bartender, Lindsay, is always professional and attentive and pours a mean Sam Adams Brick Red Ale. I haven’t dined much at NT’s but recently tried the popcorn chicken — portion size was good and it was cooked well. I always stop in when I’m in the area. I’m told the chicken Marsala is excellent so that ill give that a go next time.

HELLSYES. One word — Karaōke on Saturdays. I know that only the most courageous of ballers travel out to Norwood for the most insane night life south of the 93 – 95 split. If one of said ballers has not yet frequented Napper Tandy’s on a Saturday night, he hasn’t seen the pinnacle of nightlife south of the Bean. I’m a Karaōke mark, so this place gets super plus bonus points for having a fun karaōke setup. Great variety of songs(have you ever heard the Humpty Dance, Sabotage and Weird Al’s Amish Paradise all in one night EVER?), and the place manages to be JUSTCROWDED enough for it to be a party atmosphere, but you’re not getting elbowed every 5 seconds. The space is cozy and is divided into 2 separate bars that almost mirror each other. You don’t like karaōke? Fine. Head over to the other side and watch the B’s. Or the C’s. Or the H’s… What kept me from 5 stars was some of the wait staff just seemed too«green»… I know they’re trying to give good service, but asking if I want a drink every 5 seconds while I have a beer in front of me can get tiring. Also, they serve«Reverse Nachos»: Cheese on the bottom of the plate, chips over the cheese. Oops… Whatever, i do it for the Karaōke. I’ll come back. I smell a Karaōke list coming on…

Napper Tandy’s is one of the first bars I’ve been to in Norwood and it’s alright. I’ve been there on a few occasions, never really for food, and I feel like its probably more of a place to go to with a group of 4 or more friends. It’s got a very townie feel to it, which sometimes is inviting, sometimes not. Nothing was really that notable about the place really, I’ve gone to other bars where the bar staff is way more engaged in whats going on around them, but the good thing is that its not really a trashy place. I drove by the other day and it looked like they may have made some renovations to the layout of how the dining room /bar area is set up. One bad thing was trying to hang out on the patio, which they close pretty early and kind of get in your face about it. I may stop by again, but I’m not really dying to go there.

Seems like a nice spot — I was only there for a drink, and it was a tad quiet on a weeknight — but I can envision the place rocking when there’s a big game or over the weekend. I’ll be back!

After returning to Napper’s for an impromptu vacation-planning session(which I have found goes over MUCH easier whilst under the influence), I have decided that I may have been too quick to judge this fair pub. My friend and I made a beeline for the outdoor patio, snagged a table, and spread out our itineraries, maps, and activity options(not something all bars encourage/permit — — - thank you, Napper’s!). Our chipper waitress was quick to come over and, before you could say ‘Carry-on Baggage Restrictions’, our first round had been delivered! In addition to notations regarding our upcoming adventure — I jotted down a few in regards to our current surroundings: *Hung out on the patio(such an asset for a small place in the ‘burbs) for the sunset. Most tables are under the shade of umbrella’s for when the sun is overhead, and there is lighting for when the moon takes its place. *Our waitress was all smiles and also incredibly helpful — she kept all of the playgoer’s pleased with full pints and a few laughs. *Hand-cut fries = amazing! I just couldn’t help myself — my fingers kept returning to the basket again, and again, and again… so good. They also came out of the kitchen CRAZY fast! Our neighbors ordered a plate of nachos: holy-crap…HUGE! Note to self: order this next time. *Blueberry ale was entertaining(little blueberries bobbing around like a lava lamp never fails to bring a smile to my face); this was my friend’s pint-of-choice. My order: the Black Velvet(a pint of Guinness-and-Cider — — - yum) and was I quite pleased that it came pre-poured(last time I received a pint of Guinness and a bottle of Magners — I prefer to keep my craftsmanship where it belongs and not to dabble in even mild mixology). Perfect choices for a summer’s night outside. Conclusion: really glad I returned(and even more pleased that I could get some work accomplished while visiting). I had been contacted by the manager whom had taken my previous review to heart. He said that a few adjustments had been made and that he hoped that I would return soon(I’m glad I did — it was great to see a happy, team-oriented staff). Check out this little pub if you’re in Norwood(get the nachos and let me know how they are!!!).

Only a 4 because the atmosphere was great and the beer they poured was perfect and well chilled(Harpoon IPA) The food was mediocre. I got the onion soup and an Irish BLT. The soup was only so so. I have had better. It was small for the price. The BLT would have been great, but the bacon was too fatty and chewy. That may just be the style of Irish bacon. But I hated it. All in all this seems like a great place for a pint and some appetizers.

Originally, we’d planned on finding a place to eat outside in the waning days of summer, but their back patio wasn’t really going to fit 7 people on this evening; not because it was busy, but there were just enough people there to make the merging of tables into a bigger disruption than we typically cause. So we adjourned into the nearly-empty inside, and set to work with a few pints and made fast friends with the friendly waitress who put up with our antics gamely(there was an duel of attempted wet willies at some point, which we kindly left her out of). The food was pretty darned tasty; i had some pasta with chicken in it that i thought was pretty good, and a very enjoyable pint of Harpoon(just one? yeah, i’d already done a lot of drinkin’ in the past three weeks). The bar area is separated by doors, and seemed to have drawn a pretty decent crowd. Also, they seem to have something of a plate-dropping problem; two actual crashes were heard, and a few more possible ones. It became something of a running joke. Decent food, friendly service, a fine option if you should accidentally find yourself stranded in Norwood.

Napper Tandy’s is pretty good. I’ve been here on more than one occasion. The bar is always full and the crowd often seems chipper(plus there’s a nice age range in the place). Also, beers aren’t too $$$$. I’m a fan of the Curry fries, although I don’t understand how that’s Irish Fare. Also, there’s a nice little outside patio out back, if you want to catch a breeze. Be prepared to squeeze through crowds on a busy night.
