I have had my hair cut and styled by both Toni & Clover — they are both absolutely amazing!
You get a very special treatment at a very affordable price, and their location is pretty convenient too! The salon also has a very nice atmosphere!

I have been coming back to Shear Genius since I was 15 and got my first highlights! Tiffany is a genius and has never steered me wrong. I moved to NYC a year ago and still come home to get my hair done, I don’t trust anyone else!

I wish that I lived in Norwalk (I’m from Virginia)! I would be a regular of Shear Genius. I travel frequently and when my schedule allows, I schedule my color and cut with Clover at Shear Genius. I am definitely a fan! The personal attention is exceptional. I would recommend to anyone who is in the area and is looking for a new salon. Clover is amazing.

I called on a Friday afternoon and the receptionist squeezed me in for an appointment the next morning. Awesome start! Brooke, the owner, started my appointment right on time. She spent a few minutes chatting with me about what kind of cut I wanted, then another woman washed my hair (sorry I forgot her name), then Brooke cut my hair. She was thorough, and the cut is great. The only hiccup (and thus 4, not 5 stars) was the hard sell on hair products. I appreciate that they told me the what, why and how, but the push to sell me is a turn off. An otherwise good experience. I’ll be back!

I have been getting my hair cut a colored here for several years and I am always happy. Brooke is amazing with my color (I call her an artist because she has so many bowls in front of her for my hi lights, lowlights and base color) but in the end she creates a masterpiece because I always get compliments on how natural it looks ! I have curly hair and she does the Deva styling which is amazing for curly hair. Tiffany, Toni and Clover all have cut mine or my kids hair at one point or another and they are all great !!! Can’t recommend this place enough.

I tried a few salons when I first moved to the area about 5 years ago, but had horrible luck! After trying Shear Genius I haven’t gone anywhere else. Tiffany, as well as the other stylists, are all wonderful! Prices are reasonable for the area, the salon is always clean, and everyone is always friendly and on-​time. Would definitely recommend!

This review is for my girl Tiffany. She does highlights and color as well as any colorist in the city. Having lived in NYC for years, I was super worried about finding a good salon out in the ‘burbs of Connecticut. Shear Genius is great. My cuts and highlights are always perfect.
My only negative experience was with a receptionist they had for a long time. She’d mess up my bookings and then if I had a different time in my calendar, she’d blame me! It happened a few times and I know a Type A personality like me does not fuck around with my calendar. She’s been let go, so hoping that they replace her with someone more respectful to clients.

I’m very picky when it comes to finding a good color specialist. Brooke is amazing! She always makes my hair look fantastic!
All the ladies are very friendly and makes you feel at home!

I love Shear Genius! Tiffany has helped created a new style that I love that’s easy for me to do myself (that’s so often not the case!) and the color she’s given me is beautiful! Shear Genius is a relaxed, happy atmosphere where I always feel welcomed and appreciated. In these crazy, rushed times where everything is moving so fast, Shear Genius offers a wonderful chance to relax, enjoy a delicious cappuccino, and leave feeling restored and beautified. Definitely check it out the next time you need any hair services.

By far the best service in New England. I have known Brooke for almost 10 years… Each and every time she has left my hair looking spectacular. Tiffany is also amazing! You are welcomed by Pam, their incredibly sweet receptionist and are immediately taken to their chair where your transformation will commence. The salon is immaculate and super chic. Nothing but professionalism all around. I walk in knowing that my hair is in the best hands ever. I now live in Boston and let me tell you: I will wait months (sorry Brooke, I know it isn’t ideal!) until I am able to visit the area just so that I can get my hair done by Shear Genius. You get so much more for your money, totally worth every single penny. If you haven’t tried them yet, I recommend you do! I ALWAYS walk out of there feeling like a million bucks… I can not tell you how many compliments I get every time my hair is cut by Brooke; People notice the quality. Love it and love everyone there!

I have known Brooke for several years and she has been doing my hair at Shear Genius since she opened the salon. Everyone at the salon is completely professional and welcoming. They are always very accommodating to my scheduling changes or needs as well as my changing hairstyles and colors over the years. Brooke has always given me excellent advice and suggestions for my hairstyle. I rely on her expertise and trust my hair in her hands. I always look and feel great after my visits to the salon. When my mother was visiting from the west coast I called Shear Genius on very short notice and they were able to fit mom in for a shampoo and blow dry by Toni. Mom looked great and enjoyed chatting with Toni.
The salon is modern, clean and well equipped.
Their pricing is also very reasonable and lower than other salons I have used in the past and the quality and service is excellent.
Shear Genius is a fun, comfortable place to relax, have a cappuccino and have your hair styled by the best!

WOW! You would never know this salon was here without really looking for it but I am so glad I found them!
Tiffany was incredible and did an amazing job with my hair. I’m a bit of a micro manager when it comes to my hair and she did my hair exactly how I wanted it, down to every last strand.
They play awesome music and are all so relatable. Now that I live in the area, this will be my goto place!

Toni did an incredible job on my hair. So much fun to talk to and really cut my hair exactly how I imagined it. The blowout was also flawless on my usually difficult curls. Definitely going back!

I was here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I can’t wait to go back. The salon is nice and the staff set me at ease and made me feel at home. I’ve been looking for a new stylist for almost a year, so glad I found Toni and Shear Genius.

Great place! They pamper you and do a great job with hair. They gave me a free cappuccino and I love my hair. The staff is awesome the atmosphere is great!
