There is nothing to complain about on the haircuts. Like I always say, «The difference between a good and a bad haircut is about three weeks.» However, the last time I got a haircut there, I wasn’t given the hot towel. Not thinking too much of it, I went up to pay and was charged the same price as if I had the full treatment. I paused with my money, asked if there was a different price since I didn’t receive that part, and the guy who rang me up looked at me and blankly said«…no». Sure, the difference would be a few bucks at most, but on principle I found that to be a rather arrogant thing to do. I never went back and I found a better place with consistent service and more honest pricing.

I’ve been going to Rooster for about 2 years. The service is always great and courteous. The place is very clean and has a wonderful ‘barbershop’ theme from the days when people took the time to socialize at such grooming places. Men in particular will find the surroundings very comfortable(think anti-salon). I bring my sons who are 9 and 12 here and we all get our haircuts at the same time. This is made easy by the online scheduling tool they have where you can go and select the stylist, date and time. It even sends you a reminder. Kevin, Andrew, ShirleyAnn and Jacob have done excellent cuts for us. Maria, the owner, is always very friendly and sponsors several local youth sports teams. They have coffee and things to read and usually something interesting to watch on the flat screen. I don’t know any way the experience could be better. Highly recommend Roosters of Norwalk.

My first time going here. I really liked the atmosphere, nice wood fixtures, clean place, etc. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I wouldn’t give it 5 stars because it was not an over-the-top experience, but definitely a place I would go back to. On a personal scale of 1 — 10, I would give my haircut an 8.

My 2nd time at Rooster’s for a haircut today. The price is a little higher than a traditional barber but well worth it for the extras that the other reviewers mention. I will be back.

So I posted a legitimate complaint about your business and unacceptable service and your response, as the owner, is to attack me with this over the top, ridiculous vitriol? Somehow you were able to deduce, solely from Unilocal reviews, that I am an «opportunistic pig,» a «cold and timid soul,» that I «lack of ambition» «talent» and«kindness» and finally, that I am «insecure» and incompetent.” That seems completely reasonable and in no way pithy or immature. A few things I’d like to point out: 1. Every critique I have of your business is based on a completely legitimate issue. Going to a barber shop that can’t properly cut facial hair is like hiring a landscaping company that can’t trim the hedges. It is one of the most fundamental tasks of your trade and if you can’t do it properly either learn and teach your people or don’t advertise it. Everything I said about that beard trim was accurate. How, in this case, you refuse to acknowledge that the service was substandard is completely beyond me. Rather, you almost blame it on me and say merely that I was«not satisfied.» To be a little more specific as to why I was«not satisfied:» the service was rushed, she cut up the back of my neck, the trim was completely uneven and she shaved my face while cold so that she pulled the hair out rather than cut it off. It’s interesting to me that nowhere in your lengthy response do you even make mention of these issues. You advertise a service and someone there clearly doesn’t know how to perform that service. But you scapegoat me for«putting you on blast» by posting about my experience. You personalized the entire criticism and decided to paint me as an insecure incompetent(how you know that, I don’t really know.) Yet nowhere do you actually take the opportunity to say«we acknowledge that problem and are committed to fixing it.» I mean, isn’t that the one and only thing for you to say in this situation? Your barber screwed up, but you blame me for holding you accountable for it?
2. Yes I was polite. Yes I said«thank you.» Yes I tipped my barber. Because that is what you do. Even when you don’t want to and even when you are seething mad inside because someone just reduced the left side of your beard to a chin strap and made you look absolutely ridiculous, you still say«thank you,» you still behave politely, and you still tip. Not because the service was good but because that is simply the way things work. If I had wanted a handout would I have tipped the barber when I didn’t have to? Wouldn’t I have taken you up on that 7 step shave? You say that I’m «always looking for the freebie and hand-out.» Since you know me so well, since I am such an opportunistic pig, I’d love to hear what exactly am I getting? What benefit did I incur here? And you were, in fact, aware of the first time I had a problem with getting my facial hair trimmed. Your barber nearly shaved my beard entirely off. I mentioned this to her, you overheard it and offered to have me not pay for it. Because this was the first time I had any problems there I insisted on paying for it and took the entirety of the blame. And I also tipped over 20% for both services. By all means check your books. Hopefully you spend as much time on those as you do on Unilocal. 3. To close your tirade, you state that my behavior is «shameful.» Your entire response was so over the top and childish that I can’t take this comment with even the slightest bit of sincerity. You actually go to the trouble of quoting Roosevelt in a Unilocal review. I wasn’t going to say anything at all until I got to that part. So you’re sitting there wagging your finger at me while sending down Roosevelt’s lessons from up on high? No doubt you see yourself as the one who«strives valiantly» while I’m just the pathetic«cold and timid soul.» But I don’t know if owning a Roosters exactly rises to the occasion of a «worthy cause.» Not trying to belittle you but it’s just such a ridiculous quote that I can’t help try to put what you said in perspective. And closing with«the best thing to do is ignore you» was a nice touch, except that you did the exact opposite of ignoring me. Rather you attacked me with a full thesaurus of insults and ill fitting quotation. You painted quite a picture of me. So you say that my behavior is shameful. You took a complaint about your business and used it as an excuse to launch a very personal attack on a former customer.

I’ve gone to Roosters 9 or 10 times now and love it. I have Donna cut my hair, only because she nailed it first time, and couldn’t be happier. I would recommend Roosters to any guy looking for a great haircut with some superb service.

Very good experience. After having a one month membership at Kennedy’s I got spoiled by haircuts and face shaves every week. But because of cost couldn’t keep it up. I was surprised to find the shave here to be better and less money. More luxurious and smoother including a message and face wash. Highly recommend.

I first went to a Roosters in NC3 years ago and had a great experience. For years I talked about that haircut. So you can imagine how excited I was to see one open in my own town. Going in with high expectations, I was not dissapointed. The staff is extremely friendly and the owner is always going out of her way to ensure your experience. Everytime I come in, she is always offerring me a drink and asking about my experience. I would recommend you come and try the Roosters«experience». You will not be dissapointed.

High end men’s grooming center. Friendly staff. Professional service. They go above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction. If you think this is a typical barber shop – you are wrong. It’s all about the experience. A relaxing environment –complete with hot towels and a top notch staff that will keep you coming back!

For the last few years, I’ve been getting my hair cut at Francesco’s in Grand Central Terminal. I was devastated when they closed without notice a couple of months ago! Since then, I’ve been in a bit of barbershop purgatory, looking for a decent replacement, so I was excited when I saw Roosters open close to my home. I’ve since been twice. I can highly recommend Donna, who cut my hair exactly the way I wanted and who I will specifically ask for next time. The pampering is nice — there is complimentary beer available, they give a nice scalp massage/hot towel treatment, and the space has a nice ambiance to it. I left my last visit feeling great and very happy with the treatment I received. I have to agree with other reviewers about the Bic razors. I’m from NYC and now realize I’ve been spoiled with the skillfull straight razor shaves I’ve received in the past. To be fair to Roosters, I’ve heard that the CT health code is to blame here, but there has to be a middle ground that is a step up from the cheap plastic disposable razors. My only other(minor) gripe is that they do not allow you to put tips on your credit card. I hate cash, and having to remember to bring some(or be forced to use the Citi ATM next door and pay a ridiculous $ 3 fee!) is a bit of a pain. Aside from that, I definitely recommend you check Roosters out if you are in need of a decent barbershop in the Norwalk/Wilton area.

I’ve been to Roosters on two occasions for a haircut and left satisfied both times with the haircut I received as well as the«spa» treatment. Guys don’t pamper themselves very often, and so when you’re sitting in the chair getting a haircut it feels good not only to shed the excess follicles but also the other stresses of life. Having a hot towel on your face while getting a shampoo/scalp massage has got to be one of the small pleasures in life. Leaving looking good and smelling good is simply the best. If I were to offer small criticisms it would be that using a bic razor seems a little cheap for such a classy place. I would rather that a straight razor be uses — but only if the hair dressers are skilled at wielding it. Also it would enhance the brand if the personnel seemed like they were hair experts. Some advice on style and hair care would go a long way in making the experience extra special.
