We came for father’s day and I only came because someone with clearly lack of taste suggested it. The food is mediocre not worth the price. The ambiance is blah. Granted I gets its not a luxury restaurant but jeesh have some pride for your business. There was no one when we got there and I had to repitevely tell the waitress for utensils, water, lemon extra napkins. Like come on! Teach your staff to value the restaurant as their own and people will come.

If I could have given them 3.5 stars, I would have. Like the previous Unilocaler, the inside & outside furnishings weren’t impressive but were clean & well kept. The drinks were amazing — tomatillo shake & naranjilla shake. The food was a mixed bag — the seco de gallina was very good and tasty, as was the orange colored house spicy sauce. The carne asada and beans were just ok, but the rice was great. I think the entire menu is a mixed bag, & there are some great dishes to be had here. Also the menu was a bit dated & ghetto, including some English misspellings & handwritten price corrections. The street parking was adequate & easy to find. One thing that was extremely impressive — the bathroom, although not newly remodeled or decorated, was very clean & well maintained. It made the dining experience much more pleasant, as the kitchen is probably just as clean.

Great authentic Ecuadorian food… except no Coy… which is probably good.. Soups are wonderful… steak… seafood…plantains…all great. One thing– Inca cola isn’t very good. The place is unimpressive from the outside with an inside is equally unimpressive… but you don’t eat the tables and chairs. The food is delightful and definitely worth a trip… especially since their are few if any Ecuadorian restaurants in the area. This is NOT Peruvian… there are differences… and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Though I like Peruvian Lomo Saltado better… but that is about it. The prices have increased a bit since my first visit a few years ago… they are definitely not traditional Ecuadorian food prices… but hey this is Norwalk! ! will return again and often. Thanks El Idolo! Also.no AMX, but other credit cards accepted. Parking is on the street right outside– usually no problem finding a spot. — MSZ
