Update since my last review. This restaurant has gone downhill in a hurry. I don’t know if it’s Ghopi leaving to start up his own place, but they changed the menu leaving off many of our favorite dishes. The rest of the menu is mediocre at best. Very sad.

Just drove by it and it’s closed down! Has a for rent sign on it. That really sucks as it was my favorite lunch place to go to. Loved the buffet. Really too bad that they are gone!

This place is CLOSED at present! Heard the non-renewal of lease was the issue, so they’re looking for a new place in Norwalk. Hopefully they reopen soon!

Incredible Indian food and fantastic service! They have a great selection of authentic and variety of dishes from around India. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the location/ambiance — it’s in a strip mall. We had the Tandori Lamb Chop with Masala curry and their Shrimp appetizer. The cocktails were outstanding. I had a Mojito and my wife had a Vodka Mango drink. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I’m looking forward to trying their other locations.

It is closed. It would have been nice for them to put the info on their website

Hands down — the best Indian brunch I have ever been too. I was impressed with the selection, customer service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

We have been to this location for dinner and a lunch buffet and were very pleased both times. Excellent food and so many dishes to choose from in the buffet. Great service too! We will be regulars!

My husband and I came for the weekend lunch buffet. The buffet was well socked with lots of items. The staff did a good job of replenishing items as needed. Additionally potato crepes, chicken and naan were delivered to the table. We both ordered mango lassis, which were delicious, but pricey. The buffet, on the other hand, was an excellent value. Service was attentive and friendly. Out water glasses never sat empty and a server checked in on us as needed. All together, a really nice experience. We will be back.

Man, I love me some Indian food! And I love, love that this is in walking distance from my home. I always get the vegetable sampler when I go(even if it’s just for me) and an order of the garlic naan. We most recently went there last Wednesday night and the food and service was amazing as always! It was my friends first time trying Indian cuisine and she raved about it! I decided to try something different and ordered a spicy, coconut halibut dish. It was truly amazing and the perfect amount of spicy(I asked them to make it extra spicy)! Always a pleasure dining here. The staff is seriously a group of the kindest most polite people and they make you feel like home. Try their lunch buffet during the week, you get so much for the price! Delish!

This place, by far, has the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The lamb mamsam koora had the right amount of spice and flavor. Everything looked so good, I couldn’t make up my mind. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly and helpful explaining the menu. I’m definitely going back again.

This is the best food ever! Even my husband who has an aversion to Indian food, loves this place. The Avial is the best thing I’ve ever had. All those complex flavors but it’s so creamy. The garlic naan is out of this world and unfortunately there are too many delicious things on the menu that I need to try.

This is the BEST Indian food around. I’ve tried a handful of Indian restaurants in the area and by far this location and restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The service is impeccable, the food is amazing and the staff is very helpful. I’m a very picky when it comes to Indian food because I’m Indian. Nothing beats my mom’s home cooked meals but this place is very close. Their Sunday buffet are the best! If you have never tried Indian food I’d say to try out the Sunday buffet because they have so much you can try for a fair price. Well worth the 5 Stars I gave them!

We live nearby so this restaurant has always been a «go to» takeout choice for us because of the good, solid offerings BUT it’s even better now! Everything lately has tasted exceptionally fresh and the Nan is the best ever. Either there is a new chef or the spices are fresh daily. Really enjoyable.

This is an amazing weekend lunch place that I frequent every Saturday. Every single time I am greeted by the amazing staff with a smile and the glimmer of recognition in their eyes. There’s nothing like feeling part of the family at a restaurant you love! I highly recommend this location over the Stamford one not only because of the friendly staff but because every lunch comes with freshly made Tandoori chicken on a hot skillet and naan bread. The buffet is reasonably priced and tastes delicious. The desserts are amazing, especially the dough balls in the rose water syrup. I wasn’t a huge fan of Indian before going here. Now it’s in my weekly rotation. High fives all around!

I have been to a few of the other Coromandel locations and this one is just as good as the others. We were here for a buffet lunch and the vegetarian options weren’t overly abundant but they were all pretty good. The steam table effect was killing some of the fried foods, but they were still edible. Some items on the buffet were mislabeled, which may make non-carnivores worry about what’s going into the food. Clean contemporary space, nice location right on the main drag with all the other bars and restaurants. Parking around here during peak hours can be harrowing if you don’t know where to look — there is a lot behind Washington Street that has electronic meters, or there is a very large lot a few blocks away behind the regent movie theater. All in all, a decent buffet on a nice commercial street full of stores and things to do.

Loved the spiced shrimp appetizer… just enough sweet with the flame. Great regional flavors served by friendly staff. We will be back!

Just went to Coromandel for the first time with my Boyfriend. We went for dinner on a Sunday night and when we walked in we were the only people there. Apparently it’s a slow night for them in general as the place never filled up but a few more parties came through the doors while we were there. I was a little surprised by the prices on the menu as they seemed a little steep and we only ordered two entrees and a side of Naan bread which happened to be delicious. The two dishes we got were both pretty spicy(sorry I can’t remember the names of them) but very full of flavor. I was hoping for a little more variety from the two curries but was overall satisfied. The owner came over to check on us which I thought was nice and talked up his lunch buffet. I was definitely intrigued and plan on heading back to try more dishes at a lower price for the buffet. At the end of our meal we received a complimentary rice pudding dessert which tasted like sweet cream and heaven mixed together. It was a great finish to a spicy meal. Overall I’d say I’m a fan but need to try more dishes to give this place a five star rating.

I don’t get here as much as the other locations due to parking, but this location is no different from the other excellent Coromandels in Southport, Darien, Orange, etc. The buffet is excellent and provides a varied array of fresh dishes. Dinner is not quite as good of a value, but high prices are fully expected in this area. At least one is rewarded with volume, as portions at Coromandel are much larger than what you might expect at your typical Washington Street eatery. As noted elsewhere, this is one of the most attractive spaces that Coromandel occupies. Atmosphere is excellent and date-worthy.
