We have visited«Chocolate rain» store on October 10, 2015. It is decorated lovely for Halloween and Thanksgiving. We found chocolate turkeys there that were adorable! Lots of chocolate treats to choose from and their coffee and hot chocolate drinks made on a spot are delicious! A little gem in the quiet norwalk neighborhood. Rejoice, chocolate lovers!

what little chocolate choices they had were good. however if I didn’t have a groupon coupon I would have walked out. $ 40 a pound for chocolate come on and most of it was dull in color and looked very old. as for the macaroons… they aren’t made there so how fresh can they be

I recently attended the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Business & Culinary Showcase and had the lucky opportunity to taste some Petit Fours and Truffles from these talented Chocolatiers from Chocolate Rain. I highly recommend them –simply fabulous and delicious and super high quality. Just the thing to make your party special. I’m on my way to their shop tomorrow in fact, to buy a hostess gift for a dinner party this weekend.

I found this shop at the chocolate Expo while they were advertising for high tea for 2(on the flyer for the expo for 15.50 a person) with reservations only. So I called to make a reservation for pre Mother’s Day with my mom over the phone they said it was 18.50. Person which isn’t a big deal but it’s was advertised and told differently. So we arrived to high tea to my surprise it was set up in front of the cases in the front of the chocolate shop which was odd. My biggest complaint is that in a chocolate shop surrounded by chocolate and did not receive one piece of chocolate, if I had maybe sampled a chocolate I would have been more inclined to buy… All and all it was a very odd experience from now on I’ll stick to high tea at the four seasons.

Tay Zonday? nope. Decent chocolate? yup. had some chocolates and macaroons and they were pretty good. location is pretty strange, in a residential area in what was once a small convenience store. I tried 6 chocolates and really liked 3 of them, the others were OK but not spectacular. your mileage may vary.

Truthfully, I’d rather buy a box of Godiva. The peanut butter nut roll was dry on the inside, not smooth and creamy as it should be. The chocolate covered pretzels tasted stale. Yes, the place is charming and the ladies were lovely, but that doesn’t make up for inferior candy at outrageous prices.

This is a quaint and off-the-beaten-path chocolate shop with some creative options for those seeking special treats. Don’t just think you’re going to get standard options here as they’re stepping it up a bit with creative cakes made to order, great diversity on baked goods, including macaroons, and even cake pops. I think this is well worth the visit for those seeking an unusual option for holiday cheer or a stocking stuffer, and it helps support a local merchant instead of a huge company pushing out chocolate that tastes like wax…

LOVE this little chocolate shop! My boyfriend & I have an ongoing joke with the owners of the shop that I need to come in at least once a week for my macaron fix! Every time I come in, they have different flavors of french macarons — ALL scrumptious — and at a reasonable price! Their chocolates are fabulous as well, and they have a bunch of adorable cupcakes and caramel/candy apples that would be perfect for gifts. AND it’s a must mention that they always have fabulous free samples, and they’ve even offered me samplings of items in their cases to satisfy my curiosity of how a flavor tastes! This shop is all about the neighborhood feel, and the friendliness of the shop owners goes above & beyond my expectations every time, and makes this experience all around wonderful. I can’t help but hope that this little hole in the wall shop remains a secret treasure for us!

It’s not the chocolate shop I’d expected or hoped it would be, but it would do nicely as a sweet shop. If you are looking for cute cupcakes or want to special order cake pops for a birthday party, this is your place. If you are looking for high-end chocolates to give as a gift or treat yourself, you can do better. They offered tiny macarons in three flavors and had some decent Grand Marnier truffles that I might give as a gift. I didn’t taste the caramel/chocolate apples but they looked nice. The fudge was disappointing. The texture was more sugary than creamy — I didn’t want a second bite. I am a chocolate-lover at heart. Give me a shiny well-tempered chocolate shell with a smooth and tasty ganache or caramel on the inside and I’m in heaven. I really wanted this place to have great chocolates. They didn’t. And this is where I over-analyze their offerings: The«salted caramel» had no salt in the caramel; it was sprinkled on top of the enrobed chocolate. Also, the caramel did not taste homemade — more like those caramel sheets my mom used to buy for Halloween that you peel off and wrap around an apple. It had no caramelized flavor — just blandly sweet. The apple-flavored truffle was not smooth, but pulpy. The ginger truffle was so strong that I felt like I was being punished for something. The colored cocoa butter they used to decorate their bon bons was out of temper and came off on your fingers. The shell was so thick that by the time you bit down hard enough to get through it, the whole structure collapsed and mushed everywhere. The hazelnut gianduja also tasted like it was mass-produced, although that didn’t bother my boyfriend at all. Again, if you are looking for cute cupcakes or cake pops, you will be happy with their offerings. It’s a much better sweet shop than chocolaterie.

The place is beautiful, the owner/staff were very nice, but the prices are way overboard. 5 pieces of chocolate(the regular size of store boght boxed chocolates) costs me nearly $ 11. Why so much. cause it costs $ 20 — $ 40 a pound for chocolate! It wasnt that good. i’ld rather buy a big box of chocolate at CVS, cheaper and tastes better

Sometimes it really pays off to stop & get out of the car to satisfy your curiosity…& this time both my tongue & my tummy left happy! This chocolatier is special indeed. See the recent bio article: www.ctpost.com/news/article/Chocolate-Rain-drops-in-at-Norwalk-storefront-3724010.php Bright, colorful, pleasant interior. Bistro style seating indoor/al fresco. Coffee, tea & cold beverages too. Local artist’ art highlighted on 1 wall, immaculate sparkling cold cases display an array of confections. Smiling faces greet you & pleasant customer service shown. We thoroughly enjoyed: the bright, citrusy tangy of the orange vanilla cupcake, rich, dense chocolate cherry cupcake, marzipan petifore. All were of superior quality, professional care in both ingredients used & presentation. Dense, moist, flavorful– perfect balance. Chocolates: dark, milk & white like the Barks– coconut, chocolate nibs, almond was smooth & chunky & satisfying, the Dolce de leche chocolate apple was simply amazing– dense buttery silk, dark salted caramel was good, the hazelnut cream was divine w impressive intense but balanced hazelnut. Very inexspensive for such serious, delicious, hand crafted delights! Huge cupcakes for $ 2.50?!! Diana, one of the sister/partners chatted us up w chocolate trivia, what inspires her, & enthusiasum for her passion for chocolate. She is a genuine pleasure. Free WiFi! Excellent street parking. Out door seating! Special orders.
