OMFG. The CHERRYDIP with vanilla custard. I have dreams about this weekly. My mouth is watering RIGHTNOW! I’m from CA and never had this until I moved to Michigan. My world changed. This is my favorite thing about Michigan so far. Thank you Custard Time for making my day! If you have never had a cherry dipped cone I honestly feel sorry for you. You have not lived until you have this. Why can’t this be in the same family a kale? Is it? Keep on dippin’!

I come here like 3x a week because the custard is THAT good. However, I fluctuate between a small and medium depending on who’s working because some of them make the smalls WAY too small!

The amount of time my friends and I spent deliberating the difference between custard and soft-serve made Custard Time so much better. The«soft-serve» menu items are, indeed, custard. They have many other items, but for the custard there is vanilla, chocolate, and twist. Classic. Bear in mind that the differences between the sizes is bigger than it sounds. You’d think that if 5 sizes are offered(x-small to x-large), then the growth would be gradual. This is not the case. The difference between a small and a medium is beyond my comprehension. That aside, I really liked this place when visiting Northville. The custard is not too rich and has a great, smooth texture. 10⁄10 would come again. or… 5⁄5? How does this even work?

Spring and summer does not start in Northville until Custard Time opens. We love this place and go maybe I’ve a week Menu is pretty standard for your neighborhood ice cream place. They also have dog ice cream for pets, which our dogs devour. Everyone will find something they like cost is very cheap and affordable. Easy to give a family a treat for cheap. On nice days, it can get rather crowded, however the line moves fast. They do take credit card, but using cash will make it easier to leave a tip.

The best ice cream around. So good. The only thing I could say that’s not great about this place is it’s often pretty crowded. But again, that’s because it’s awesome! Oh yeah, one more knock… they’re not open year round. If you have the chance to check it out, definitely do it.

My husband and I tried out custard time. We both tried the custard, I had vanilla and husband had swirled vanilla and chocolate. Two large cones for $ 6.20. It was so creamy and rich, we were surprised how little the cost was for great quality. This summer this will be our ice cream spot. We drove here all the way from Canton, well worth the drive.

Great place! Best ice cream in Downtown Northville and around. Too bad there is no place to sit down.

We have been going to Custard Time for twelve years. It is a great local business that gives jobs to quite a few teenagers. Those teenagers put up with long lines of kids after baseball and soccer, or when the weather is just right. Since there is very little seating, just a few benches, it’s best to leave –on foot, bike, or car and enjoy your treat. That gives spots so more folks can enjoy the rich custard on tap. The main course at this place is rich custard, vanilla, chocolate, or twist. It is delicious and since it is full fat and regular sugar, there is no funny after taste that you sometimes find with soft serve ice creams. You can have it in a dish or on a cone — with sprinkles, nuts, dipped. Or you can have it in a cup topped with their delicious slushes(yes, pretend you are 10 to enjoy these). It also makes a great sundae or mixed up as a flurry. Some of my favorite combinations are marshmallow and peanut butter, or marshmallow and pineapple. In addition to custard, they serve hot dogs, a rotation of frozen yogurt flavors, and hand dipped ice cream. You don’t need any of that. As good as it may be, stick with the custard!

Huge portions. Soft serve is very good, but very rich. All you can eat and all you need is a cone. Ordered a medium cone, think it was around $ 3.

Northville + summer time = Ice cream at Custard Time This is THE hangout place on summer nights. Expect long lines, but enjoy the charm. From entire baseball teams stopping in after a game, the usual high school crowds after school, to family going for a neighborhood walk this place attracts everyone in town. You’ll even see fire trucks stop by on occasion! Prices have kinda skyrocketed, but worth it. More than just frozen treats. They also serve dogs, burgers, nachos. Easily one of the most iconic parts of town. They will NOT serve anyone who gets in line after close. But will happily serve you if you’re already in line. If you’re lucky enough to be the last in line at close, They’ll give you the magical«end of line» cup or sign. In exchange for keeping the end-of-the-line the end-of-the-line, they give you a free treat! Seasonal only. Historically, the official opening is April 1, but they can be seen serving a week or two sooner if the weather is unseasonably nice. I think they close in October.

At dusk on a cool Sunday evening, the crowds have thinned out from this popular place. Located in a rustic-looking strip mall, Custard Time offers cool treats for local families, teenagers out with friends, and athletes coming from a game. Unlike many other ice cream places, the custard(soft serve) offered is creamy rather than icy. I enjoyed the medium vanilla-chocolate twist dipped in chocolate. Although other frozen treats are offered, most people select this simple, timeless treat. What a wonderful way for families to create fun memories!

«Try Ritters frozen custard, that’s real ice cream.» Hmm, wait. Frozen custard is not ice cream, so let’s just get that straight. Frozen custard is, however, one of the most heavenly creations known to man — and if you can get the flavor right, I will let you be my bestie. Custard Time, thank you for rocking my socks off with your rich, smooth, buttery frozen custard. No toppings required, a vanilla medium cone is all you need to take a summer night from average to stellar. Locals chat amongst each other while lined up outside the windows as smiling high school girls take orders over the sticky counter tops(oh yeah, bring cash). The experience is too lovely to describe — thinking about it makes my toes curl in excitement! Can’t wait for spring so I can get my frozen custard fix!

I am not a big ice cream lover/eater. However, Custard Time is PHENOMINAL!!! I won’t buy ice cream from anywhere else! The Cookie dough Blizzard/Twister is the absolute best. Their custard has such a clean, pure taste. Nothing like it…

Wow there were so many great reviews and I thought perhaps I had been missing out on something great. I wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better custard. There seemed to be a after taste and almost a ice milk flavor, which isn’t consistent with custard. When they say small, they mean small. I thought they had given me the baby cone and for $ 2, for .50 cent more I would have gotten twice the size. The girls were nice and it was busy.

Yeah custard time! Time for some fucking custard! It’s not really ice cream? It’s custard? Frozen custard? Yes. Yes it is. This place is the shit. It’s inexpensive and very good. The glaciers are like a slushy and ice cream mixed together. When I first got one I ordered a medium and it was HUGE! Now I order the small and finish it all! There’s usually high school girls working the custard machines so there are usually tons of kids outside. No big deal though. They work hard and always friendly. There always seems to be a line but it moves fast and sometimes isn’t very long. Love this place and am a repeat customer. CASHONLY!

Thinking about this place gives me an instant smile to my face. Memories come flooding back of meeting friends here. Waiting in the line and changing my mind 3 or 4 times of what I want. Finally enjoying the treat with friends… just a great memory! Price: Affordable. I’m not sure why people think it’s expensive. Atmosphere: A Northville staple! You have to come here! It’s a small store front where you walk up and order at the window. Food: I love ice cream and everything here, hits the spot! Shakes, sundaes, malts, cones… mmm I always try and go here when I’m in town. If you’re in town, stop on by!

So I just moved to Northville about a month ago and have heard many great things about Custard Time. «There’s always a line of people,» «My grand kids drive down from Brighton just to get custard there,» and so on. The first time I went was about 7−8pm and there were 2 separate lines(because there are 2 ordering windows) with about 10 people each. The wait wasn’t too long though. I ordered their vanilla custard and it really was good. Creamy, almost buttery tasting(but not in a disgusting way), and makes you want more after each lick. It was $ 1.75 for a small cone(which was plenty for me). Be careful about ordering a baby cone, it’s the size of my thumb! They also have many other variations and cold treats. I’ve since been there 2 more times. Driving my friends who visit me from Ann Arbor to this famous custard shop. Overall, I would recommend this place if you’re around town. It’s easy to find, not overpriced, and a great summer treat. However, there is not much seating besides 2 benches. So don’t plan on hanging around this custard shop for an extended period of time.

Back in high school I used to hear all about this place. Suffice to say, I definitely had high expectations when I finally went there. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. Their custard and their ice cream are pretty average. It’s like getting fro-yo at any other place. I guess the main reason this place was popular was that this used to be a good place for kids to hang out. :-/
