The food is good! Service is always great! We got seated immediately even though they were busy. Had a variety of options for the complete family! Would recommend

This is my 2nd time to this restaurant and it will be my very last time. Nothing special about this place, and it’s not authentic Italian pastas. I went with a group of four, got a table fast within 5 minutes. Due to being empty, Our waitress was to busy to help us out at the time being, so we had another waiter approach us, to get us started with our drinks. A simple question about wines, what’s popular? What’s a good red wine you recommend with pasta etc, since I’m not a big wine drinker my experience is limited. He had no clue, or idea what’s good! He kept insisting about the house special. Which I kept saying I’m not interested. Our waitress, finally came to help us with our orders slow service as we waited 15 minutes for her. She said she’ll bring us 3 different wines to choose one from. We order a calamari appetizer, which was the worse calamari we all ever tried. None of the group liked it! Felt like I was chewing a gum, with no taste at all. My pasta was okay, but I was frustrated and hungry and wanted to eat and walk out. Wifey wasn’t a big fan of her pasta de mar(seafood pasta) NOTRETURNING poor service, worse food you can order since nothing tastes good! I rather go to mcdonalds drive thru

To our surprise my boyfriend and I loved our dinner here. Neither of us had been here in a long time and we only really stopped by because the wait was only 10 minutes compared to the 40 – 45 everywhere else in the plaza. Our server was Marie she seemed to be a little overwhelmed with her section but we were patient and she was very sweet. We ordered just some water and a blood orange iced tea for drinks. The tea was fabulous and the right amount of sweetness. We then ordered the bruschetta, and the spicy ricotta meatballs for our appetizers. They were both an incredible way to start meals. This is the only occasion where I love tomatoes and the meatballs were melt in your mouth! For our entrees we shared the mushroom ravioli and the parmesan crusted sole. The mushroom ravioli was a bit too heavy and rich for me. After the first couple bites I was done. However, the fish was cooked perfectly! Pan seared to a perfect crisp on the outside but light and flaky on the inside. The wild rice paired with it was also impeccable. We never would have expected such a great experience. Drawing on the tables was fun too.

The food was nasty it was cold. It had a very bad taste to it. They need more workers. The service was slow. Customer service was not the best thing. Calamari was under cooked. Very disappointed won’t be coming here again.

The service was beyond slow and it was pretty empty that night. I was really disappointed with my pasta. I order the same thing every time and this time it tasted different and didn’t settle well with my stomach. Unfortunately this place ranges from excellent to lame and I think right now they are going through a rough patch. I think it’s time for a break.

Fast seating and service on a Saturday night but the food was really bland. I got a shrimp pasta and my husband chicken rigatoni and both of us were pretty disappointed. Would recommend spending the money somewhere else for a better Italian food.

Ordered take out and got a family meal which was supposed to serve four people. It could have served 10 people at least. It came with an excessive amount of food and condiments(which each came in a large bucket). A big bucket full of parmesian cheese the size you would buy in the store. A bucket of olive oil, a bucket of balsamic vinegar and a big bucket of ceasar dressing. You could pour them each into their own bottle and keep them in the fridge! Why even do groceries, right? I took a picture of it because it was so hilarious(I’m not sure if it will let me post it?). The manager should know that they are wasting food, and metric tons condiments. The spaghetti was mediocre at best, pretty plain. I judge Italian restaurants by this staple dish, so failing at spaghetti will hurt the score. I can make it better myself at home and I’m no master chef.

Went to Macaroni grill tonight at 7pm at the Northridge mall. We instantly got in, even the though the restaurant was pretty packed. The restaurant is great for dates, families, and even has a bar section. A $ 2 bloody mary and mimosa sign caught my eye as I walked in. Our server immidetialy came to our table and introduced himself as Eric. He was the best throughout the night, got us drinks and and fresh bread right away. The bread is complimentary. Each table comes with its own personal olive oil, and servers grind fresh pepper into a plate for dipping. I strongly recommend asking for balsamic vinegar to ad as well! Our server was very timely and kind. He asked us if we wanted more bread without us even asking. Although there is already complementary bread I recommens you try the bruschetta. The appetizer comes with 5 seperate bread peices and a container of tomatoes and another tin of spreading cheese. The appetizer is only $ 6 and I saw something on the menu about getting two appetizers for $ 9 which is a great deal! Two of my family members are vegetarian, and had a wide selection of dishes to choose from. We got pastas, pizzas, a salad and bruschetta and were all able to split and still able to take left overs home for under $ 50. The restaurant is located right next to the mall so there is a lot of available parking, and you are able to walk off the food in the shopping center. Can’t wait to come back!

The food here is hit or miss. Sometimes it can taste pretty good, other times it can be a bit salty. I feel for the price the portions are on the skimpy side. I ordered a drink here last time, took a sip and immediately told our server it didn’t taste good at all. He promptly got me something else that was better but my drink still appeared on the bill along with the replacement drink. :-/ The servers are usually pretty friendly. The wait can be lengthy depending on the day and time. If it’s too long I’m ok going somewhere else. This isn’t a place where I must wait in line to eat at.

Going through receipts in my purse and catching up on Unilocal reviews today. We were there with our grandson two months ago. Had been a fan of the Westlake Village location, which sadly closed a while ago. We were pre-disposed to like any of the other locations. Mixed bag. The food was still good — especially the penne rustica. It’s one of my all time favorite signature dishes at Macaroni Grill. The sauce is so rich, with the addition of shrimp and chicken; there are almost always leftovers for another day. DH and I shared a side Caesar and then split the penne. Adorable Grandson dug into the kids chicken pasta with broccoli and gave it a thumbs up. Service was adequate, but not as reliable as we’re used to in previous visits to other locales. Most disappointing was the visual evidence that this place has been heavily visited but not well kept up. Deferred maintenance was visible everywhere, from the furniture, to the flooring, to the bar area. DH reported the bathroom area was really shabby and in need of a re-do. Time for a remodel /refresh of the interior, folks!

I have been to this place a couple times. It’s definitely not something to write home about but the food is ok enough. Typical Italian chain restaurant food. I came in with a friend last night and it was a pretty ok experience overall. The waitress was very friendly. They give you free dinner bread and you can even draw on the paper covering the table with the crayons provided lol We started off the meal with a dinner salad. I chose the bleu salad(I think it was called). It had some type of onion rings on top of that which made it interesting but it still did not really impressed me. For dinner my friend and I ordered the make your own pasta special. My pasta was alright but they forgot to put the meatballs in. The portions are so generous that my friend ended up giving me some meatballs from her pasta. We had plenty of leftovers. Not a bad restaurant just to sit and talk but not a place to come to if you want a true culinary experience.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and oh boy!!! Let’s start with the service, it was god awful. The waitress was an older female that was not friendly at all. Very cold and unwelcoming demeanor. My entrée was awful, I had one bite and told her I was done. She didn’t bother to ask why I was throwing a way a plate I had hardly touched, nor did she seem to care. Next the food, it was awful! How do you serve rubbery chicken that tasted like it had freezer burn? The chicken was dry and I don’t even understand how that’s possible. This is a franchise, they send you most of the food prepared, all they usually do is boil it or microwave it. I really don’t know how you screw it up that badly. We did end up tipping properly because now a days you tip 20% regardless of the food or service, but God knows I won’t be coming back. This place sucks and the manager needs to get on it here.

Haven’t been to this location in several years… Best, friendly, helpful service by Jane(who kindly greeted me) & Kim(at the Express Kitchen Counter), where they offer a special menu for QUICK service, on the go. they were both soooo pleasant!!! This is a casual cool chill place, yet affordably tasty. Express Dinner can be dine in(Mon — Thur) or to go daily($ 9 each) for dinner entrée choices, I got the Chicken Milanese Panzanella. Very tasty, fresh with lightly bread chicken, bed of fresh veggies, crispy seasoned(yet soft) potatoes. Yummy! Very generous portion at only 850 calories. $ 1 extra for their hot ciabatta bread, added to any take out entrée. Free ciabatta bread for dine in restaurant area. Can’t wait to go back tomorrow to try Express Lunch to go($ 7 each) for lunch entrees. I am EXCITED to try the Chicken Caesar Calzonette and Chicken Parmesan Ciabatta sandwich. 5 stars: for fresh quality delicious food, tasty selection, excellent service, great value and sizable portions, low calorie entrée options, and convenience. Tip: You can sign up online for promotional specials, coupons, so it’s worthwhile to Google Romano Macaroni Grill, register, then get your $ 5 off coupon!

Yesterday we went in here for late lunch … It was our first time ever going to a Macaroni Grill… must say it much fancier than I thought it would be… also must say it was DELICIOUS! We had a great server — Laura she was attentive and patient with out struggle — she actually recommended the Pesto Primavera pizza which was my favorite!!! We started off with a sample of Valorosa Rosso red wine which was really good! Had a wonderful flavor and reminded me of sangria then we had the bruschetta and Mac & cheese bites for starters … The truffle sauce with the bread they give you is soooogood!!! The bites were good but not my favorite thing… but I’m also not big on fried things … The bruschetta was delicious so fresh and perfectly seasoned :) it comes with a fresh ricotta spread which is good but it is just as good with out it :) For our meals my husband got the buffalo chicken Parmesan which he really enjoyed… I just tried the noodles and they seemed buttery for me… but he really enjoyed it I had the Pesto Primavera Pizza —I wanted to try to go meat free and I’ve never been big on cooked veggies or veggies in pizza but this was a game changer! It was delicious!!! Brought half of it home and put it in the oven and it was just as good!!! The seasoning and the veggies amazing and the crust is soooo good! I really enjoyed it –gave me the courage to get veggie pizza now to find vegan cheese that is as good… and step up to vegan pizza… but the vegetarian one here was /is impressive!!! Highly recommend :) Also while we were here a waitress sang happy birthday(in Italian I am guessing) and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! Not even my birthday but i felt just hearing it was a treat!!! Very very happy with out visit and random trip there ! It was worth it

Our server was great– Steve took care of us. He was very attentive and went out of his way to make sure we got everything we needed. The bread was a little softer than our liking and he quickly brought us a new one. I remember this place being much more delicious several years ago… I think tastes change and maybe I have outgrown Italian chain restaurants. I love that they do the create your own pasta option. And the crayons. The paper table cloth. The food is good. Definitely worth trying if you are in the mood for pasta:)

After many years I decided to try This place again. I have not had a great experience before at another location. I really like how the restaurant is set up. It’s a pretty good size place and has a back room used for parties but not a lot of privacy. Our waitress was really nice, and always had a smile on her face;however a little forgetful. Came here for lunch with a good friend of mine. We both ordered cokes, water and pasta. I got the fettuccine Alfredo in Alfredo sauce with roasted garlic. This is on the«make your own pasta» menu, which you need to ask the server for. For the most part it was very good but had a little to much salt for me. My friends(can’t remember what she ordered) meal though had sausage that was not cooked well and the manager had to replace it. Didn’t seem like they used fresh sausage at all. I waited some time to write this review because of the experience I had previously. Unfortunately myself and my friend both got sick the same day at different times. It’s possible of course it may not have been the food but that was our only meal that day while at school. So, some good experiences and some bad. The food is very delicious and I would recommend that you try it despite what I have written. Not everyone has the same problem.

As we entered the Restaurant I was greeted right away and seated. I was very Surprised that they weren’t that busy for lunch. They are offering a lunch deal for $ 7.00.If its not ready in 7 minutes, than its free. The menu for this special is limited. I ordered from the main menu. They also now have a 3 course meal for $ 10,not bad, because their cost is about $ 3 for each 1 of of these specials they sell. The interior is very appealing with a fireplace in the middle of the dinning room. It would have been nice if it was on. The portions of the their dishes are large, even for lunch and very filling. The sour dough bread that is brought to you before your meal is also very large, however its good. A must try with olive oil. I had the Rigatoni with Italian Sausage and it was very filling. I could not finish it all. Prior to my meal I had an Appetizer and a small salad. 2015 Challenge 011⁄100.
