Jolly Jug Liquors

Cant believe «The Jug» is still there. I used to buy sodas, candy, gum… on my way home from Northridge Jr. High almost everyday back in 1970…

Recently moved to the area and while it isn’t anything to brag about this is a pretty decent market. I had 5 keys made here. It cost me less than $ 10. Some things are priced cheaper than 7 – 11 for instance, a regular sized Gatorade is $ 1.50. The liquor and beer is average, so shop around but for market and general items, and keys, this place is convenient.

The moment you step into this Northridge liquor store you can just smell the sadness.
Yup. In fact that stench is going to remain on you for a while after.
Maybe it’s because the store owner has turned away one too many CSUN fake ID holding students, but the moment you walk in it feels like the eyes are on you — Suffice to say, there’s nothing jolly about this jug.
But hey, it gets the job done if you’re hard up for that brown bag full of self hatred in 40oz quantities. Even if it’s priced a little bit higher than anywhere else. One review mentioned better than 7 – 11. I’ve never felt like the only way a drug deal could go was bad in front of a 7 – 11. The characters standing outside this market at any given time scream nothing but «Yeah, shits going down wrong here».
In fact, the better option is that there’s a CVS right there, which will probably be a lot better options if you’re going for that last minute handle of liquid confidence when heading to a nearby house party or one of those upper crust society gathering…
Yeah. I had to laugh at that one. Listen, the place is a shit hole liquor store on the corner. much like you have to use a really awful looking toilet every now and then on a road trip. On this road of life, you sometimes need to use these liquor stores.
I would suggest holding it, though.

So, has anyone else noticed that the dude who gave this place five stars totally works at Jolly Jug? Anyone?

This place is great. I have been going there for about 2 years now, and i really love that place. i have gotten to know the people who work there now after time, and no one there would con anyone out of $ 10.
Plus, they have everything in there! much better than like, a 7 – 11
