I have eaten Pizza in 6 states West of the Mississippi and I still travel from Oregon to Los Angeles just for a taste of heaven from this awesome little hideaway. Pasta — Yes, it is the best Subs — Absolutely but, The Pizza is worth its weight in Gold: O) The Crust — Perfectly Crisp and Soft The Chesses — Thick and Gooey: o) The Toppings — Generously Spread Throughout The Entire Pie ITDOESN“T GETANYBETTERTHANTHIS… ANYWHERE…EVER !! The crust baby the crust. An OG spot that’s been here forever. Can’t say that they have been consistent in the last few years. They were hiring online via clist for awhile in 2010⁄2011. The pizza is so good. Crust makes me think back to my younger days. Little greasy, but that’s ok since they are generous with the cheese. They have me as a long timer. On my top 5 in the SFV for pizzerias.

Ravanelli’s Pizza is has a bit of a split personality. I have gone here and noted when the young dude is working the kitchen, the pizza comes out and it’s brilliant. Its the type of the pizza that you’re proud to have in the Valley. The crust is sweet and had a nice crisp outer and a nice pillow soft center. The cheese is hearty and compliments the sauce, which I’d describe as sweet and fresh tasting. Other times I’d go and the pizza is still great, its just a little bit greasier more gritty. The crust is softer all around and the cheese is packed on, which sometimes results with the one bite cheese landslide. It still is a great pizza, but it does lack the consistency. Who ever that young kid is, keep him. Pay him well and he’d bring Ravanelli’s back to the olden days that I hear so many of the classic fans describe. For me when Ravanelli’s is at its best, it stands out as a unqie and character filled piece of pie. I haven’t had an experience like some of the lower ratings. This was my go to pizza place at CSUN and I’ve actually gone back several times, while not on campus. Whether the young dude is cooking it or who ever else is doing it Ravanelli’s is great for me.

Oh, how I miss the quality. I would love coming home years ago to find my sister ordering from this place. Honestly, it was 5 star 5 years ago. But now, I fear it’s gone downhill and fast. The turkey sub was amazing, but now I can make a better one myself(what’s the point of ordering out?). It was filled with turkey back in the day, now one thin slice and tons of mayo. I called and they told me it was due to budgetary reasons. The pizza I ordered was under cooked in the middle.

Been eating Ravanelli’s pizza since before I was born, it’s the best pizza in the valley and I work at a pizza place

Ravanelli’s and I have a love hate relationship. This review is strictly for one of the worst Pastrami Sandwiches I have ever experienced last week. Skimpy thick cut chewy pastrami. Really bad. Had to chuck it in the trash. Sorry Ravanelli’s. Pizza = Great Spicy Sub = Great Pastrami Sandwich = Fail. Never again.

I just had a Horrible experience with ravanellis!!! I ordered for delivery, the girl who took my order was obviously new. 1. She didn’t tell me my total, 2. She didn’t tell me no credit for delivery. Thank Goodness I had cash. When I open the box the pizza was soaking soggy wet!!! Gross! I I called and asked for a manager, and the girl said there was no manager around!!! Really??? I explained the situation to the girl, and she said” the veggie came wet because of all the veggies”. Who wants soggy pizza/After a deep sigh… she reluctantly said they’d send another out. NO. I’m sorry nothing!!! After that NO thank you. Bad business. Very disappointing.

Ravanelli’s has been our favorite pizza place for over 10 years. Tip: They are definitely heavy-handed with the toppings(especially cheese/meats) so if you’re a fan of that kind of pizza, you should be good to go. Our regular pie is sausage/mushroom and since I prefer good crust/sauce to overloaded toppings, I always order light cheese, light sausage, well done. This results in Perfect Pizza every single time.

The first time I came here I ordered their lasagna to go. It was decent tasting, filled me up. It was good enough to come back a second time. This time it was rainy outside so i waited inside… There was trash on every table that just sat there. And had been sitting there… the pizza sauce easily looked dry from afar. Ok, maybe they will clean it up soon considering there are customers here now. No. It stayed like that til I left 20 mins later. It seems that they place great emphasis on their delivery where as they are definitely lacking in the«dining in» experience. Come on Ravanelli’s, you can do better.

No matter how good a restaurant’s food is– that does NOT make it OK to treat their customers like shit. Especially customers that have recommended your mediocre restaurant because you can make a decent lasagna. Well, I unrecommend it. Derecommend it? Anyway, I take it back. You can honestly get better lasagna from the frozen food aisle. Marie Calendars. Go for it. Don’t come here. So, let me tell you what happened. I live in Reseda and work in downtown LA. I had to work late the other night and I was starving. I had been out of the house since 7am, I was tired, hungry, and had a craving for lasagna. So, at 8:40pm while i was still on the road I called and very nicely asked if it was too late for them to deliver. This very rude girl answered the phone and said that they didn’t deliver this late so then I asked if it was too late to pick up and she said, «you’d have to get here in the next 15 minutes» but with total attitude. So, just for my info I asked what time they close and she yelled at me and said, «We close at 9!» Duuuuuuuuude, take a f*ing CHILLPILL. I was just asking a question so I wouldn’t call that late next time and I doubt she was slaving since 7am so that was totally not right. I considered calling and complaining to the owner but they are family owned and that was probably a family member so it’s useless to complain to them. Hence this Unilocal review. Don’t go there. Pizza is greasy, customer service is horrible, and you can get better frozen lasagna at food 4 less and you won’t get rude responses. So yeah, don’t come here. I’m pissed.

I am pretty new to the valley, moving here from Texas, and I ordered from Ravanelli’s after reading the reviews here. I was really shocked at the experience I had. First, I call and the boy taking my delivery order would not answer any questions I had about their menu. Then, he proceeds to scream at someone while I am placing my order, then asks is that all, tells me it will be 45 minutes and hangs up on me. I am always one to give a second chance so I thought, well, maybe the pizza will be worth what I just put up with. After an hour and a half, a young girl delivers my pizza, looking exhausted. I felt so bad for her. It was late at night, and to be honest, coming from the south, I don’t think a young girl should be out delivering pizzas. That just baffled me! Well, I took my pizza in ready to eat because I was starving at this point and opened the box to discover a cold, greasy, burnt pizza. I was really disappointed that they would actually let something like this walk out of their business. I went ahead and tried it and I can see where the sweet crust could be good if the pizza was hot and not so greasy. I guess I will have to say a definite no to this place as I ended up throwing the pizza out. I would say if you try this place, maybe try eating in their restaurant as this seems to be how they receive their better reviews.

Ravanelli’s makes great pizza for the right price. Enough said! Fresh and good quality ingredients a solid history behind a excellent pizza. I hate when people compare California pizza to New York pizza. I don’t care if you see a pizza joint in California with the word, «New York» in it, because it’s in California, NOTNEWYORK!!!. I been to NY couple of times, and I can’t remember how great NY pizza was anyway, but I do remember how good Ravanelli’s pizza is and that’s were I will be eating tonight! YUMYUM!!!

This is my NY friends’ favorite joint in the valley. I was SUPER excited to try this place out. Just a tad bit disappointed. The pizza smelled great. Ordered a mushroom«white», hawaiian, and lasagna. The mushroom«white» wasn’t white. It was oil based sauced with garlic and … I forget the other but the flavors just weren’t there. The pizza was bland, more like bread than pizza. The lasagna was SALTY. Unbearable salty. There was no way you could eat that thing alone. With every bite, I added some pizza crust just so I could finish the small portion I put on my plate. I really wanted to like this place so even though I was reaching the point of absolute no desire to eat anymore(not because I was full but just because it just wasn’t good…) I figured I’d give the hawaiian a go. It was nothing special. One thing I did like, the crust had a hint of sweetness. The dough in general but I only tasted the sweetness in the crust.

Growing up in the 80’s and in the valley, we always spent our Saturday nights watching a video rental and eating Ravanelli’s pizza! We ordered pizza from Ravanelli’s almost every Saturday in my early years and into the 90’s! It was always a top request of mine and my two brother’s! I think some people love this pizza and some people are put off by it because it has a slightly sweet taste. For me, no pizza compares! Sadly, I live on the far east end of the valley now and I hardly ever get the opportunity to have a Ravanelli’s pizza. But I still have mad cravings for this pizza! And we do make a special trip for this pizza every once in awhile! My boyfriend also likes this pizza, but he’s not as nutty for it as I am. I seriously think this pizza is my all-time favorite food to eat: P As I said, the pizza sauce and crust have a slightly sweet flavor. Not overbearing and coordinates so well with the tomato sauce and cheese. I highly recommend trying this place!

Pizza = 5 Stars Salad = 3 Chicken Parm Sub = 2 The staff was extremely friendly. The pizza was great — don’t miss it. The salad was iceberg, mozzarella cheese and a few slices of pepperoni. Where was the tomato or mixed greens? How about black olives? For what it was — it was fresh. The Chicken Parmesan Sub was made with shredded chicken(which was kind of dry), sauce and cheese slapped on. Not at all traditional or what I expected. Stick with the pizza.

Ravanelli’s is one of the best pizza joints in the San Fernando Valley. They use only the freshest ingredients, make a great crust(which I prefer well-done), and use top quality cheese. They are a long-standing family-owned business, and very friendly to their customers. It is a small place with only a few tables, so really more of a take-out place, at least as far as I’m concerned. The dining area is small, and has a small patio out front. Casual place with decorations of famous Italians and mobster movies on the walls. Their deluxe pizza is one of the best around, and they have a variety of great toppings to choose from. They have a lunch special, for those interested in stopping by on their work break.

Delivery took just under an hour, which I consider«adequate» but not really«good.» As other reviewers have said, the pizza is extremely greasy. The toppings seem quality, but what knocked this down for me was how sweet the crust was. I know another reviewer commented on it, but to me it tasted like someone grabbed the sugar instead of the salt when seasoning this thing. It was palatable this way, but only just. If you really enjoy super sweet pizza, then you’ll probably like it, but it definitely wasn’t for me.

I dig this place. The crust of their pizza is pleasantly chewy and surprisingly sweet, which goes over well with my ravenous palate. I can easily eat half of a Ravanelli’s pizza, any day. Check it out if you want pizza and feel more adventurous than not. I recommend the veggie or the cheese pizza, or – my mouth is watering now – the veggie sub, if that’s your scene. Price isn’t unreasonable, and they deliver. The pizzas are huge. The staff is friendly. Three/three and a half stars!

The pizza here is fairly tasty, but way too greasy. Several of my friends are big fans, but many of them confess it was far better under previous owners. Their other menu items are pretty generic Italian pastas and salads, nothing to write home about. The service is good and delivery is quick enough. All in all, better than your average hole in the wall pizza place, but only slightly.
