Wow. What a surprise. Great food great service. Pretty much anything you order it won’t disappoint. I had the carne asada plate and damn it was made to perfection. If you have room for Dessert. Give the churro ice cream a try. Yum.

This place is really good! A big selection of tacos, their alligator tacos are a must have! It can get a bit pricy ordering a bunch of tacos but its worth coming here at least once! I think they have discounts during laker games but don’t quote me on that :)

1 taco cost me $ 5…not worth it. I could have gotten more than that with $ 5 elsewhere. And the nachos was something I was looking forward to because as memory serves it, they were piled high. Not anymore, the nachos that I got appeared to be WAY less than what they used to serve a couple years ago. Service is prompt and the flat tv screens are abundant, but those are the only upshots with this place. Not the restaurants fault completely, but the patron sitting behind me kept hitting the back of my chair whenever he slid his chair to get in or out… pissed me off

I have seen this place for you and never went and then some friends invited us to go. It was fun, good tacos of all kinds. It seems to have been closed for a couple weeks now and I have wanted to return, but it is dark and no note saying what happened. Any one know?

CLOSED??? Went there 2 days ago to find the restaurant dark. Also tried to call the restaurant with no answer. If they reopen, I’ll be happy to evaluate properly, but had to put in a star rating just to add this post. FYI… not sure if this makes a difference to eaters, but this restaurant has a B grade.

Nachos and sweet potato fries. I’m sure they have other good stuff, but I’ve never had it because their nachos and sweet fries are so freakin’ good. I like this place because their nachos are terrifically priced for what your getting(both quality and quantity), and it’s a nice casual place to eat out – it has become the go-to dinner locale for my friends and me after watching Doctor Who or Game of Thrones. I’m only giving it four stars because we’ve gotten bad service the few times we’ve gone during the day. I guess they’re more staffed in the evenings? Also, their chips and salsa are only bottomless during happy hour. LAME.

I just got back from lunch and well… I think my rating expresses how i feel about it. I’ve been here before, so this was my second time trying them out. The first time I did NOT think they were life changing. I decided to go today and try them out on my own. I walked in. No waitress/waiter to be found. I walked to the bar. about 2 – 3 minutes later waitress comes out of the kitchen & tells me she’ll be right with me. COOL! asks me if i was going to eat there or take out. take out — she gave me a menu. I looked, made my decision she took my order in a timely fashion. I told her and pointed on the menu what I wanted(Original & Phish Taco), I even asked her what she would recommend — I’d give one other one a chance! When I got my order… well, it all looked good. When i tasted the 1st taco, I thought.uhh.this is not as good as I though it would be, too dry! Then i looked at the next taco… shrimp?! When did i order shrimp? I looked at my receipt and it said I ordered a shrimp taco, which i didn’t. Whatever, i tried it. Did not taste good. I would expect more flavor. Finally the last one the ANCHO Taco(pulled pork with«grilled onions»).umm…those aren’t grilled onions, those are very thin onion rings, it’s dry, and greasy! *sigh* I was quite disappointed by the tacos and that she didn’t get my order right(I can’t blame her for that, it happens). I don’t know what else to say about this place. If you want some better tacos go somewhere else… not here! Maybe next time, if i come back, i’ll just have a margarita. they’re strong you say?! hmm???

Nice place! Much better than you would expect from a place located in a strip mall. Very impressive menu. It’s not«authentic» Mexican, but it doesn’t have to be if you’re using good, quality ingredients that actually taste good, instead of refried beans out of a can. I ordered off The Taco List. I had a Chorizo taco and a Jimmy Chimi(chicken with chimichurri sauce). The Jimmy was EXCELLENT. The Chorizo was pretty good, but EXTREMELY salty. I like a little salt to bring out the flavors of the other ingredients, but this was so much that it was overpowering those flavors. We shared an app of «Heavenly Guacamole.» Nice guac! Needed a dash of hot sauce… not for heat, just for flavor. Impressive beer list. This seems like a good place to come and watch a sporting event. MNF was on while we were there, it was a very late season game of little importance and it was around the holidays, so there weren’t many sports fan watching. But I’ll bet it gets crowded when important games are on. But why were the TVs so loud? I don’t like having to yell to be heard by my companions, especially when the place isn’t very crowded. Even if I were there to see the game I’d be annoyed by that. If I care about hearing the announcers, I’ll stay home to watch the game. You can turn the sound off and just put the closed captioning on(and yes, you CAN get closed captioning through an HDMI cable… people who think you can’t haven’t read the manual for their cable box!).

I was originally introduced to this spot as the place that serves filet mignon tacos, and their tacos did not disappoint. Quality ingredients, amazing flavors, and exotic creations — you can get alligator if you want! However, Hot’s biggest gem is not their tacos but rather their Hot’s Famous Burger. This is the best burger in the Valley, and even smashes on bandwagon hipster spots like Umami. In fact, the only burger I’ve been able to find that is better than Hot’s is at Father’s Office. On to the burger: I don’t know exactly what kind of meat they use, but the quality is superb. If the meat is the same as what they use in their sliders, it’s Kobe-style Waygu beef. The burger starts off with a nice charred flavor, but gives way to a tender texture(I recommend medium/medium-rare) followed closely by a tasty combination of enchilado cheese, avocado, tomato, cilantro, grilled onions, and their own special blend of burger sauce. The burger sauce highlights the charred flavor of the burger and really completes the overall taste. You will absolutely crave this burger the next day! The burger is served with a choice of fries: go for the chili-lime fries and a side of ranch. They complement the burger nicely!

As other reviewers mentioned, this place used to just be called Hot’s Tacos. They have a tons of different types of tacos ranging from traditional to buffalo style. The tacos are ordered individually and range from around $ 4 to $ 7 for the more elaborate options. If you are with a vegetarian, this place is a hit. They have tons of vegetraian taco options and also offer tofu on all of their salads. I would recommend going at lunch for their lunch special. It’s super cheap and you get two tacos and a side. Chips and delicious salsa is only $ 2 all the time too. The pico is unusual and amazing. The reason I didnt give them 5 stars? Worst margarita ever. Sadface.

This place used to be called Hot’s Tacos but now it’s Hot’s Cantina(been that way for awhile actually). Their tacos are pretty legit. I recommend the mojo chicken and kobe beef. Can’t go wrong with the nachos either(huge, good for sharing for at least 4 people)! Bean dip is pretty bomb too. The menu has typical bar food but it’s slightly elevated and better than what you may expect. Weekday lunch specials like the 2 tacos w/salad & a side of rice, beans, or corn are a nice option. I go here for lunch sometimes since it’s close to work or sometimes I go after work for happy hour with co-workers or friends. Staff is always friendly but can be(understandably) slow when it’s busy. It can also get crowded fast since it’s not that big of a place, although there are some tables outside. p. s. they serve beer! so ++++

Wow! This is one of my new favorite GO-TO places in the Valley! Go figure; it all started on a hot day and I was craving salsa. My boyfriend Unilocaled restaurants in the area to appease me and we found this one. I have to say that I’m hooked! Their tacos are yummy and spicy! I had their spicy tuna taco(Wow. Hot stuff! But I still crave it), crispy fish tacos(soooo delicious), tempura taco(Yum) and buffalo chicken tacos are the BOMB. My boyfriend got an alligator taco(how cool is that!). So many different tacos to choose from≠, This place reminds me of going to the restaurant«Tomo» across the way. These tacos remind me of sushi rolls because of the variety and taste. But they are way cheaper and more filling! I love going to Tomo’s but I think this is going to be my new place to grab grub! How sad! As I write this review I want to go eat there now… I was just there last night :(

I only came here ONCE because a fellow nacho-lover friend told me they had THEBEST nachos here. Semi hesitant to believe this bold statement(esp when going in with the preconceived notion that it HAS to be the BEST nachos since I travelled at least 2 hours to try em and visit my friend), I decided to TRY to push aside my bias & taste the steak nachos. We shared a plate of nachos & could NOT finish between the two of us. It was delicious & they were very generous with the meat & toppings covered every chip(chip to topping/cheese/meat ratio was PERFECT!) The pictures posted by other Unilocalers look JUST as good as they taste =] Only spent about $ 10 for the nachos but shared between two people made it cheaper. Beers are pretty cheap for happy hour as well. I have NOT had the chance to drag my lazy ass up to northridge since then but have been dreaming about em since then. I plan to go within the next couple of weeks hopefully! Join me! =] So far, these are the best nachos I’ve tasted so far. any suggestions or recommendations? PLEASE do share!!!

Great place to watch a game. It’s not too small, not too big. Just the right size and enough vibe to make any game awesome. The food is okay. But I really don’t care what I’m munching on when there’s a good game on. As long as they give me my beer, I’m solid. The staff is on que. Very polite.

Rolling this up to five stars. I’ve been back numerous times and they’ve really upped the service. It no longer takes forever to get your food! Plus, I still can’t get enough of the tacos(especially the Calle). I crave it! And you gotta order the bean dip. It’s nice and a little spicy. Plus, when you order it, they also give you a side of their salsas. Yeah, the prices still kinda suck… but this isn’t a Mexican taco truck. This is some quality and gourmet tacos!

I LOOOOOVE this place! It’s one of my favorite restaurants. Not to be racist, but the chefs aren’t all mexican, and all the chefs are graduated from culinary school. The owner used to be a personal chef. It’s one of a kind, it’s not a chain, and that makes it that much better. The soups are sooo flavorful that you can even taste the char in charbroiled. My favorite is the chicken tortilla and wild rice chicken soup. the chili lime wings are mmm mmm so good! And the nachos are good for 4! The classic wedge salad is simple but delish! all the other salads are ginormous and oh so good. The tacos are a reasonably priced for the size and flavor. Trust me, two tacos, and you’ll be stuffed. Meat-lovers have to try the kobe beef or mom’s favorite tacos! I love the crispy shrimp and mojo shrimp. Hot’s famous burger with sweet potato fries is the best burger I’ve ever had! I like the burger medium well. Even the chips they give you fro free and the pica de gallo(which is home-made) is soooo tasty. I can’t get enough of this place. Everything is made right away so it’s hot and fresh. Everyone I’ve taken here has loved it; Couldn’t believe the exotic flavors!!! You’ll forever regret it if you don’t try this place. It’s bomb-tastic!!! I like to call it «orgasmic». I docked one star for slow service. =)

A Pleasant Surprise from the Gods of Lunch: That huge plate of nachos from my prior review? A lunchtime order of the same, big enough to easily feed two people, is only ten dollars. You are all welcome. The four stars still stand, but… nachos, man, nachos.

Oh man… these have got to be some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. But at the same time, while its true I’m in love with their crazy tacos, I’m upset that I’m paying so much for only 1. :[ A group of friends and I ventured here one thursday night, thirsty for margaritas and hungry for some crazy ass tacos. The place was PACKED because there was a pretty big game on, so we finally were seated by the bar. First things first, we ordered all sorts of margaritas, and some beer and shots of tequila. I can honestly say that their peach blended margarita is the best margarita I have ever had in my life. Anyway, it took a while for our waitress to take our order because it was so packed. We tried to order shark tacos, but they were seasonal… so we just got the alligator, tempura shrimp, hawaiian, and kobe beef tacos. I loved every single one of them, but the tempura shrimp and hawaiian ones really stood out. Why 3 stars then? After our tacos we stayed till they closed, ordering more margaritas and flirtinis and beer… You know how when you’re drunk, you could care less how much it costs? Well… that was my mistake. $ 40 later, just for my tab, we left. The next day I checked my bank account and they had overcharged me $ 8. Yes, its only 8, and our waitress was new… but I’m pissed man! Chances are, I’ll be back ordering more expensive tacos and margaritas. but from now on I’m saving my receipts and checking my bank account after a night of Hot’s.
