I’m a simple kind of man. This is a simple kind of sushi spot. Hole in the wall. Never crowded when I go — just how I like it. Jorge, Ariseo, Carlos and the rest of the guys are awesome. Always friendly and inviting. Super Hana roll, Baked Salmon roll, Lemon Flush roll and Rainbow roll are just some of my favorite. If you’re feeling froggy, ask Jorge for a custom roll. Also, I always get an order or baked mussels. Lastly, watch out for that«Shut Up» sauce.

All the guys behind the counter are AWESOME! My fiancée and I used to go to Kyoto but then we wanted to try a new place. And now we have been going there for a year. Everyone there are really nice and they welcome you and treat you like family. Price isn’t bad for what you get.

Went here during a lunch break when attending a work-related conference at CSUN. Food is delicious and the all you can eat menu is more than sufficient. Our group of 4 was able to get filled up with the limited time we had for lunch and the place wasn’t busy which made the service very responsive. Been coming here over the years and its a favorite when I’m in the area.

I LOVEHANA! This place holds memories for me. I have been going here throughout the years and I have always loved it! Their happy hour is awesome. It runs from 3 – 6, I believe and it has great prices for Sake. The employees are always friendly and nice when my friends and I visit. If you’re a student in the CSUN area, it is a must try at least once. Go for Happy Hour!!!

This has been our go to because the happy hour is so good, but the quality of the sushi varies so much, it is just not worth it many times. Sometimes it’s fine, sometimes the pieces of fish are just gross, chewy. I hope they will step up on their quality control.

If you are someone that knows something about sushi/sashimi, this is not a place for you. If you are a college kid that likes funny rolls and loud crowd, you’ll fit right in. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm, the restaurant we usually go to is closed for some private party today so we decided to give this place a try. To be honest I already didn’t have high expectation going in, little did I know my expectation was still too high. There are bunch of Arabic speaking college kids in there laughing/chatting REALLY loud, sports bar drunk people loud if I may. The staff told us to sit anywhere and then brought us the menu. I got my really watery miso flavor water/soup first in a bowl on a weird small plate I’m not sure why. And My husband’s sashimi and cut roll came out rather quick. But for some reason they put the sashimi on this seaweed salad which makes the fish taste like it too. I never seen the sashimi cut that big before neither(1.5“x4″) but super thin. My meal(teriyaki salmon with spicy tuna roll and tempura combo) did not come out 15 minutes AFTER my husband slowly finish his meal. The waiter even felt bad and check on the kitchen without me asking and told me it’s because the fish needs to be cooked. Hmm… Anyway, we waited and waited. The meal came out and the fish is super tiny, about 2×2. That’s what was holding up? I asked them if they have daikon for the tempura, the server asked the chef and came back to me said no they don’t have daikon. What kind the Japanese restaurant serves tempura without daikon? The salmon is over cook but at least my tempura is hot. Also, although the menu has the quote under tempura says(vegetable and shrimp) I got all shrimp and I asked the server where is the vegetable, he told me because people always wants the shrimp and no one wants vegetables, I will have to specify MIXED tempura in order to get the vegetables. After I ate my meal, the server drop me a small plate of the tempura vegetables and said its on the house. Well, I appreciated that they are trying to correct the mistake at the end. Anyway, again, if you like the big TVs while you eat whatever Japanese food and chat and laugh with your friends really loud, this is a good place for you. If you like descent sushi/sashimi and good service, maybe not as much. Note: they have a sign saying if you are party 3 or more, they add on the tip. I guess lots of college kids or just people with no manner that doesn’t put tips? Just thought that’s interesting. They do take credit cards including AMEX.

I came here once to try their AYCE special and did not enjoy the sushi. I know quality fish and this was not at all fresh. It actually made me sick for a few days. If you do happen to find yourself hungry for anything here, get the salmon collar; at least it’s cooked! The only reason I’m giving this place two stars instead of one is because the establishment itself was well kept and clean, and the staff and sushi chefs were really friendly.

Fast Service! I appreciate the quick service. They had a lot of choices that will fill you up. However, I feel like they spray their sushi with sauce. I do not mind it since it is an AYCE. However, It felt bland really quick. I would recommend for basic sushi lovers. Nothing in particular stood out for me. However, the salmon skin hand roll was pretty interesting because I enjoyed that one in particularly. One thing is that is a bummer is the added gratuity to the bill.

I guess all my #thursdaysushiadventure is going to be standard 3 star places haha well I give Hana Sushi 3.5 because they have free wi-fi. HAHAHA They have some amazing happy hour prices! I ordered a tuna handroll which was only like 3 dollars! 3 dollars!!! well… the tuna isn’t the freshest you’ll get but … it wasn’t bad at all. I also ordered the jalapeño poppers and those were awesome. Yes, it didn’t have any fish so it’s not considered sushi… just let me be hahaha It was so fatty… and deep friend I wanted to shoot myself after but still finished it all hahaha I also ordered a seaweed salad, which was 5 dollars… but they give you a giant plate FULL of seaweed salad with a little bit of sunomono under it hahaha I ordered a spicy salmon handroll with no rice and added avocado.(I know… judge me all you want I was one of those customers…) They FILLED The handroll with fish I was so satisfied with it. Although the salmon was bit fishy… the chef did an amazing job putting the sauces together so it would taste good. The service was amazing! The place was a bit empty but the server didn’t just stand around they kept going to tables and checking up on all the customers. They had wifi… WIFI! So I was able to peacefully finish my study and have a full and happy belly. I’ll maybe go try a few other things off the happy hour next time.

TOOMUCHFOOD!!! And I said that in the happiest, most gluttonous way. GREAT quality for an all you can eat sushi spot – and reasonable, at $ 30.00/per person. We came for a friend’s birthday and it was an awesome night. We got drunk on sushi! IMPORTANTNOTES: 1. If you want all you can eat sushi, make sure your entire party is on board, because if one of you eats all you can eat, so must you all. 2. Order all you want, but eat all you order – they will look at you doubtfully as your table of 6 girls orders your 20th roll, but as long as you can man up, you will earn the grudging respect your waiter. Failure is not only a personal shame: you will pay for uneaten food left on the table above and beyond the $ 30. 3. BAKEDGREENMUSSELS. How I love this appetizer when it’s done correctly, and this is. Bonus points for all their apps –the whole menu, really – being included on the all you can eat special! If you want to waste your sushi stomach on miso soup, I’m not going to judge you. Out loud. We didn’t dislike any roll we ordered, but the fresh lemon roll, northridge roll and super hana roll were really stand outs. Once I recover, I am so coming back!!!

This sushi bar is below average, I mean the rolls are typically very large due to the large amount of rice and the fish lacks flavor. They have this spicy sauce called the«shut up sauce» and it has some kick to it but nothing that screams«wow». They are also very strict when it comes to their ayce menu, I mean they make you eat everything before you can get something else and because of the large amounts of rice that barely ever happens. Be careful because they will charge 18% gratuity if you have kids just because they have to clean up the eating area. The service is also very slow and it took about 20 min between rolls. I don’t think that I would ever come back to this restaurant ever again. Plus the prices go up every year and the quality of the fish doesn’t match it!

Went for my sister’s birthday celebration, the 3 of us got the all you can eat/ayce for $ 28.95 and person, and it was worth it! We got 8 different rolls, potstickers, sushi, skewers, chicken teriyaki, basically we stuffed ourselves. Now there is a rule that if you leave food they charge a $ 10 fee per person, BUT that’s if you, as an example: you order a roll and only eat like 1 piece and leave the rest. We had 1 piece left of two different rolls, and they saw we were trying to finish it all so they didn’t charge us! It was very worth it. Only iffy bits were there were two people taking orders and it was clear they weren’t working together to see if the other had gotten an order. Other thing was, yes while it was hot outside, they had the air on a bit too cold to the point where it wasn’t helping us eat. So basically bring a jacket and enjoy!

Came with a few friends with intentions of having the ayce, but we discovered that they have happy hour from 3 – 6 on weekdays. 99 cents for each individual piece of salmon, shrimp, white fish, or albacore. I ended up ordering 2 salmon, 2 albacore, a shrimp crunch roll($ 5 during happy hour), and also a pork belly and chicken skewer($ 2 each during happy hour). Tastewise the salmon is pretty much the same anywhere you go, but it was poorly cut. Albacore was a bit mushy. The crunch roll was good and a decent size for only $ 5. Both the skewers were disappointing, they took quite a bit of time to come out and they were both extremely dry. Service was good but they seemed a little unorganized. We had two different servers check up on us within 1 minute. In the end I’m glad we chose against the all you can eat option. $ 29 is a bit steep and you can save about $ 10 if you go during happy hour

Amazing happy hour with an even more amazing special and a go-to for after work relaxation. Found out about this place from a few friends who were always raving about it and was not disappointed in the least. Great food and dollar sake make for never leaving disappointed. I wish I could give it 6 stars because of one event that happened. I went outside with friends for a bit and came back to discover my phone had been taken. I asked around and no one knew what happened and after giving up hope and learning a valuable lesson I had more or less given up. The sushi chef came up and explained to me not to worry as they were going to check the cameras and would be able to tell me what happened to my phone. This guy next to me gets up and goes to the restroom and when he returns I go to the restroom only to be stopped by the same chef and other staff where they hand me my phone and tell me that they will explain what happened later. I took a break from coming here for a while because what happened felt kind of sketchy but another one of my friends who swears by this place went and told me the story about how the other guy got up to turn in the phone he had stolen and shut off while I was outside. The staff handled the situation in the best possible way because if I had learned that the guy next to me was a thief along with the sake in the veins it may have turned out quite differently. Love this place, love the people. 6⁄5.

My favorite sushi spot in the valley, if you’re there for«all you can eat» grab a seat at the bar so you don’t get the automatic gratuity charge that people have been recently mentioning(I’ve never seen it on my check before & I always sit with my friends at the bar). Some of the best items to try are the Mango Nacho, baked lobster roll, & the firecracker roll just to name a few.

An OK sushi spot. Nothing special, really They have AYCE lunch which is reasonable and decent selection BUT!, they really take their time between appetizers and main course to make sure you fill up on cheap stuff and order less rolls… Took 20 minutes for a salmon roll with no one else in the restaurant… Also, aren’t sushi chefs suppose to be Asian??? Will I be back ??? Doubt it, plenty of better options in the area…

AYCE! I paid the extra $ 3 to do VIP and get the special rolls. The rolls came pretty quickly for how much we ordered. The Chilling roll was good. We had a good deal for sake and beer.(It’s s better deal for 2 small beers than the large!) The service was very friendly! The Shut-up sauce they are known for literally leaves a burning feeling on your lips!
