Veggies were just good tonight and the country fried steak was terrible as in SAMs pre cooked, heat and serve. It was at room temp and tough. Onion rings were greasy as he__! Little better experience last week but wouldn’t recommend. This place was better when it was in Gordo in the late 90’s.

John M Good home cooking at a very reasonable price and ample servings. Best fried okra in town

I have passed by The Front Porch many-a-times on the way home to Memphis and always wanted to go in. My husband and father-in-law tried it last football season and declared it «some of the finest chicken and dressing you will eat». Bring it on! Bare bones inside, it is strictly a dining room. No frills, but the food speaks for itself. Actually it screams — HOMEMADE!!! Chicken and dressing did not disappoint. Served with cranberry sauce and gravy, they could have portioned out a little more chicken, but other than that it was delicious. Green beans tasted like my momma’s, as did the field peas. Macaroni and cheese was absolutely flavorless. Even with extra S&P it just didn’t deliver anything other than an overcooked noodle. My husband, who has the knack of ordering perfectly, got the same as me, only subbing fried okra for the mac n cheese. I was so jealous… in fact, everyone at our table was jealous. The okra was hand breaded and tasted DIVINE. My mother-in-law wanted to take some for the road, but we refrained.(barely) We will definitely have to stop by The Front Porch on future trips… the home cooked meat and 3 is just too hard to pass up.

Had lunch here for Mother’s day. The food was certainly not bad, just nothing exceptional either. The fare is pretty typical institutional stuff. But we had a pleasant dining experience. All in all a good value for the $$
