Metamorphosis Salon & Spa

I would say no stars but unfortunately, not an option. Worse salon! The most ungrateful, stuck up staff i have ever met. They are very degrading to their staff and I would never go back and i suggest everyone to do the same!

I really like the people who work at Metamorphosis and the staff is always helpful in getting me set up with an appointment. I used to go there often. However, I was never blown away by the hair services (cut or color). I think the salon is much better at their beauty and spa treatments.

Zero stars for Metamorphosis. I stopped by the salon and booked a manicure/​pedicure. I was given a card with my appointment written on it. When I arrived, I was told that my appointment was not on the books! After handing the receptionist my appointment card, she excused herself for a few minutes, I suppose to try to work it out or accommodate me in some way. When she returned, she said she was sorry but she would have the manager call me. They actually let me walk out the door with no resolution to their obvious error. By the way, I still have not heard from the manager. There are lots of choices out there-​this is not one I will make again.

I should start by saying that I adore my mother, and Lord did she teach me how to rock a fleece vest and clogs — BUT, one thing she did not school me in was anything related to being girlie — somehow I developed into this silly thing that likes dresses and pedicures — and so when 10 or so years ago I first suggested we go get get our nails done at Metamorphosis, she rolled her eyes and said something abt feeling awkward having people rub her feet.
And then she met Natalie, the most delightful nail technician (? is that the title?) and now almost every time I’m home she tries to get us in there together for a little mother/​daughter bonding — and if SNN is a convert to this frivolity, I assume you, it’s glorious. Eva is fantastic at nails as well — wonderful to chat with, and actually remembers useless details about my life even though I see her 4 times a year.
Hands down, the best pedicure I’ve gotten near my parents’ house — the calf massage and exfoliation is a dream (and lengthy) — and the selection of colors they have is banginnnn (all Essie). Oh, and while I’m a relative newbie to manicures (lotion on hands = gross), the polish is always well applied and lasts for 7 – 10 days if I’m being delicate with myself. Oh, it’s a clean and classy joint.
Mani is $ 20, a ped is $ 35 or $ 40? Worth every penny. Such lovely women, a true «treat yo self moment». Oh, they take CC but tips are cash only.

My massage just ok. would not go back for a massage.

Obnoxious– I have to admit I like to be treated kindly over the phone (especially when I am about to make an appointment and spend $$.)
Mediocre– I was in for a facial and didnt get my moneys worth (and I used a gift certificate)
Bottom Line– I dont do business with people that treat me less than. And thats what they do best here, so I guess I’m not going back then.

Best overall salon. The manicures are the best I have ever had, «hands down» ;) Also, after moving out of town and trying dozens of salons in the DC area, I have yet to find a stylist that colors hair like Suzanne. Best highlights, I wait to get them done by her when I am back in town!

5 star treatment! it was unreal, the bus dropped me off at 2 and I left at closing time. Unfortunately I went on an empty stomach and I got sick half way through the treatment process. They were very accomodating and professional throughout my ordeal. When I got home I went straight to bed and woke up fresh and ready to take on the world lol

Love this place! Everyone is nice and the atmosphere is great. They are constantly re-​decorating and keeping it updated. All the services that I have had (almost everything!) have been the best I’ve ever had.

Lisa did an AWESOME job waxing my eyebrows. An upscale salon and pretty expensive. However, if you’re like me and only get your eyebrows waxed to get them reshaped every so often then I would go here!

A hidden gem in the North Shore. This beauty Spa is emerging as the Spa to get beauty treatments. The staff is up to date on all the latest treatments and procedures. The only Spa to carry Epicuren facial products that are what all the celebs are using.
