I am sad to provide this review, but I’m so disappointed in the experience we had! My husband and I are younger(30), and got treated like we couldn’t afford to be there. We were using a gift certificate that I had won at a silent auction(that I paid for), and got treated like we had won this and we should be lucky enough to dine in their restaurant. There was barely anyone in the restaurant by the time we were seated, but yet we got sat next to the kitchen/servers area where we could see and hear everything they did. Our server came to the table, never introduce himself, any features on the menu, or told us about the«prime» steaks and chops that Mortons is supposedly known for. Didn’t talk about anything on the menu, didn’t try to upsell us, or talk about what wine would go with our entrees. He was rude and didn’t engage at all. We were rushed through dinner, didn’t enjoy what we ordered, and was never was checked on by the manager who walked by a dozen times to go chat with the others near the kitchen. We grabbed a drink at the bar after dinner since we were seated, had appetizers, dinner, and coffee and were done in an hour, and we really weren’t ready for our(awful) date night to end. Once we were heading out to leave, the host said«so glad you were able to use your gift certificate and join us». My husband and I looked and each other and realized that is why we must have got treated so poorly!

I’ve been here too many times to count and finally am just getting around to reviewing here! As you could tell by my opening statement, I’ve been here a lot… And for obvious reasons! This is one of those places that simply just has it down! From the food, to the service, and all in between, Morton’s is a classic. The seafood has always been top notch, as well as the steaks! Some of the most flavorful cuts of beef outside of the city, and it’s always consistent. The reason I don’t give this a full 5 stars stems from the fact that it charges city prices despite being 20 miles out of the city. Fortunately not every item is overpriced, in the specific case of their happy hour special. They offer a limited menu between 5 – 7 in the bar only but at a fraction of the price regularly. For the happy hour special prices I would give it a 5 star with out a doubt in my mind, but unfortunately it’s not always happy hour and the other remaining hours open tend charge slightly to high for comparable steaks in the area. But like I said, they happy hour is a must! I highly recommend the Crab Blt and Mini Filet sliders, and for under $ 20 how can you beat that! Happy hour WILL make you and your wallet happy!

Went for Christmas Eve dinner like we’ve been doing for years… BIGDISAPPOINTMENT! I ordered the lobster stuffed mushrooms as a starter. The server brought out 1 mushroom on a plate with a lemon wedge. I said, «where are the other 3 mushrooms?»(4 in an order). He said the kitchen must have gotten confused when he put in for 1 order. 10 min later the other 3 came out. They were good, not great. For my entrée I had the peppered strip steak; again it was good but not spectacular. Where were my matchstick fries that I had ordered??? They came out as I was finishing my steak(I had to ask for them). They would have been much better without that truffle drizzle. The bloody marys were great but overall the entire experience was less than mediocre at a hefty price!!!

Mortins is now open For lunch. We were looking forward to a business lunch. We had a spinach salad. My conworker had the«Tuna Tower«. It was over priced and underwhelming. What happened to Morton’s?

Just celebrated a birthday at Morton’s. It was a really frustrating experience because many of the items on the menu don’t have a description. For example, there were several salad options — The Mortons Salad, The Chopped Salad, The Bibb Lettuce Salad — and we were trying to find out what was in each so we could order one. We couldn’t get a good answer on this from the waiter because he didn’t know the ingredients, his English was not understandable, and it was really hard to hear because of bad acoustics in the dining room. If you are going to charge over $ 14 for a salad, I think the descriptions of these salads should be written in the menu! The service was pretty good(they gave us a picture of our group and a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating the birthday), but overall, the prices were really high!

I have ate at Morton’s for years, the Original for dinner Wacker for lunches and Rosemont(Love Patrick and Martina). This is the second time i ate at Northbrook Morton’s and it just does not measure up. The service was 4 star(We ate in the bar).We ate 3 appetizers all 4 star, 2 center cut iceberg salads. The outside of my salad was wilted(1 star) The main was the 9oz ribeye sandwich and a combo shrimp and crab cake. I had to send my sandwich back way over salted The replacement was meh(sandwich 2 stars the shrimp and crab 5 stars). The desert Carrot cake was as always 5 star NEVER change this please. I spend over $ 250 bucks(2 people) on this trip to Morton’s and was disappointed. I guess Rosemont(always 5stars) is the one for me. SEEYOUSOONPATRICK.

My mom and sister went there for a birthday dinner and had a great time. I called the restaurant and ordered a glass of champagne for my mom because I couldn’t be there to celebrate. The manager asked for my name and told me the glass of champagne was on them. Very nice customer service and super friendly. They did a great job of making my mom feel special. Will definitely have to go when I am back in town. Thank you!

OMG this place blew me away. The service was fabulous and everyone is very friendly. The onion bread is sooooo good that you have to make sure you don’t get full. Ordered steak well done and was not dry very surprised. Spanish and mushrooms was amazing that I actually would come back for that. Save room for dessert cause it’s plate licking good :)

My 8oz steak was overcooked and lacked much flavor. My wife’s smaller cut of the same steak was cooked perfectly and was tasty. On the plus side, the manager was proactive in looking to fix the issue, and I am willing to give it another try in the future.

This is a great steakhouse with many options for anyone’s taste. We’ve been to several Morton’s and this is one of the top. A big reason is the staff and management. They do a consistently great job. Last night my family had another five star experience. We started with the Short-Rib Tacos and Oysters Rockefeller. Both were done very well. We also started with a great Malbec. I love their wine selection. Great wines in all price ranges and varietals. I had the Ceaser’s Salad. Was done very well. Way too much food. My son had the Morton’s salad, chopped. Very good, and also too much food. For our entrees, my daughter had one of their special mix entrees with Scallops, Shrimp and a petite steak. My son had the Porterhouse. My wife and son’s girlfriend had rib eye. I had a New York Strip. All of these were perfect to requested temperature. Great job. We finished off with a Cherries Jubilee, a new dessert they have and their carrot cake and chocolate mousse. Wonderful. Great job and a great establishment.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite steakhouses. Phenomenal steaks and even better side dishes. I always get the spinach salad, bone in ribeye, bacon & onion Mac & Cheese, and finally top it off with their specialty chocolate molten lava cake. Even typing this review my mouth is watering.

Great specials for the happy hour! From 5pm to 6:30pm and again from 9pm until closing at 10pm. The small«bar bites» are $ 7.00 and larger ones are $ 8.00, what a deal. Check it out the small ones you can chose for $ 7.00 are: iceberg wedge potato chips and blue cheese and Parmesan truffle fries. The large ones(again for $ 8.00) are crab spinach dip, crab cakes, tuna tacos(my favorite) steak tacos, fillet mignon trio bites(again my fav) or three cheese burger sliders(great) and finally four fillet mignon sliders. Nice for a late night after work snacks/dinner on a budget and great drink specials too. As for dinner, it’s Morton’s — good steak, good food good atmosphere — my 5 stars are for the specials because at that price point and the quality you can’t beat it with a stick.

The total experience was fair at the best scenario. Service was slow, water refills took as long as 10 – 15 minutes. Baked potato was medium sized for $ 13.00. Not the money the nerve! Since the takeover from Arnie Morton, it is run for profits and not a friendly atmosphere. When I questioned the price of the potato, I was told that’s our price period. Would never go back, will be back at Gibson’s, Ruth Chris, or The Chop House.

VERY friendly and professional service. Went there with my wife for our anniversary and we think we will be frequenting this place. Nicely done all around. I would have given a 5 but my lobster(though delicious) was very small for the price.

Went there last night and yes, as good as it gets! Service was great(except at the bar, it’s almost as if you are invisible) and the food was amazing. Had the 12 oz Filet Mignon cooked to perfection and about as good as I’ve had(it came with a steak knife but I probably could have used a butter knife it was that tender). I don’t normally put anything on a good steak but the blue cheese butter was exceptional. Horseradish mashed and creamed spinach are as good as everyone says. Expensive? Hell yes but you sort of expect that at Morton’s.

I found out about $ 1 filet slider night just in the nick of time and headed over. The sliders were very tasty and obviously a good deal(though on a regular night at the bar they’re only $ 8 for 4, so a pretty good deal all the time). We also tried the chips that came with a yummy blue cheese dipping sauce. They were very yummy and also on the bar menu, but at some other similar restaurants would often be complimentary. I wasn’t too impressed with the drink I chose(some sort of Beach something or other?), which was incredibly strong and could have used a little squirt of some fruit juice to sweeten it up. Overall, I thought it was a solid happy hour deal at the bar and will likely be back.

First time here and it was really good! Had 8 oz filet cooked perfect. Was here with a group and all sides were to share. We had almost every side and they were great. Mac and cheese was a bit rich. All if the veggies were cooked perfect. I’ll be back again! Dirty martini was absolutely perfect.

My first visit to Morton’s I’d like to think was a good one! I enjoyed the atmosphere and of course the company I was with. The restaurant had a classy-old-fashioned vibe, with old black and white photograph’s hanging all over the walls. When you walked in, there was a bar and some seating immediately to the left, behind the host stand. However, we were seated in the dinning area which was straight back. Morton’s is well known for their steak… and I could not resist, and having a few seafood items on the menu… I knew exactly what I wanted! I ordered the Lobster and fillet Mignon special! I asked for my fillet to be cooked medium and it came out perfect. I washed it down with a couple glasses of white wine. So good! My boyfriend and his dad ordered what appeared to be a double porterhouse on the rare side. It was huge and meaty and they both appeared to love it. The prices were on the high end, but the service and quality food you get is superior. I really enjoyed my evening out here, and would love to visit again another time.
