They closed an hour early due to «inclement weather.» There was about an inch of snow. The salesperson was there, but wouldn’t let us in to buy a mattress. They must not get commission anymore. We were told to come back tomorrow.

People go to Sleepy’s for «the prices.» Well, the prices are like going to a used car lot. They are posted, but the posted price is negotiable, and the negotiated price is negotiable, and then — ka pow! — they hit you with the delivery charges. An extra $ 150 which makes the «Sleepy’s Price» an absolute crock. No deals here, just really hard sells. Don’t «hand over a refundable deposit to secure a deal,» because they will fight you to the bone trying to keep the deposit and make a sale. Even after you’ve called the business office to cancel the order. It took me four hours to try to NOT buy a mattress, and I’m still not sure they have processed it. Also? The mattresses? Some of them are high quality, some are mediocre quality, and none of them are easy to find reviews or specs about in the store itself. Read mattress ratings online — don’t just walk in cold!

The salesman here showed me an expensive mattress after I said I wanted to look in a low price range and lied to us about which mattress was on sale, showing us a terrible one that wasn’t even in stock. We immediately went to the Sleepy’s in Hadley and they showed us a significantly better one as the one that was on sale. I think it depends on the salesperson, but if you go there, don’t let them fool you.

I went to Sleepy’s in Northampton today on a budget and with a very distinct purpose of getting a good mattress at a reasonable price and being able to walk out of the store with it today, not in two days or next week…
I was pleased to have received all of that and more assistance from our sales person Joe. He immediately helped us deliberate between three different mattresses and tracked down a great deal on a floor sample in Holyoke. The process was quick and the information I needed was readily available, but most importantly Joe’s service was friendly and met my budget and time needs. It’s my second time getting a mattress at Sleepy’s and I’m starting to think there is no need to look elsewhere first. Save yourself some time and go here first.
