This room we stayed in was great and had everything we needed! The cleaning crew was great and always cleaned our room perfectly. The things that really bothered me was the way everyone was allowed to smoke everywhere and throw their cig butts where my daughter walked. People were allowed to smoke in the pool area where all the kids are playing and taking in this second hand smoke. This shouldn’t be allowed considering it’s such a hazard to these children. In the driveway there was broken glass for 3 days and our car was parked near there so it was annoying making sure no one got hurt on their way to the car. There’s no reason that it shouldn’t of been cleaned up. I didn’t go to the office with this because everytime I walked in I felt like I was annoying them… So I stopped going in there. They should of seen it anyway. The jets also don’t work in the hot tub and was filled with kids and their toys. Last but not least the elevator!!! Don’t ride the elevator near room 203! It was broken on and off the whole time and I wasn’t taking my chances with my daughter so the steps gave us lots of exercise. Other than that this hotel has great pools with kids pools and its so close to the beach! The patios are a great place to have lunch and dinner. I would come here again though but hoping they would change some things.

Checked into this hotel at 3:30 today and asked for additional blankets. Got back to our room at 930 and we still didn’t have them. Couch cushions were dirty. Carpeting felt icky. We were supposed to have a room with two queens and one fold out couch and only had a couch and queen. I am laying in bed thinking does this place have bedbugs. Paint is peeling in the living room.

About the only redeeming value of this Hotel Condo, is its close proximity to the beach! Using the word Resort in its name is a monumental stretch of ones Imagination. Units are individual owned so some condos(formally Hotel efficiencies), maybe 10% of them, are fixed up nicely to warrant the price.) However, since there is no guarantee what room you will get upon check-in, only room type, you will be playing Russian Roulette with your Vacation stay. The unit we stayed in, #216 was sub par at best. The carpet was so filthy I would not let any one walk around with bare feet in the unit. The beds were the cheapest beds you could buy; if I had brought my camping blow up bed it would have been more comfortable. The bedroom TV was ridiculous; a classic 19 inch«Polaroid«Cathode Ray Tube? I did not know Polaroid even made TV’s; They don’t even make decent cameras. The forks, spoons & knives had to be the cheapest available on the planet, maybe even in the solar system, and they were smaller then normal size, you know the kind you give your 2 year old to eat with? The oven is also the worlds cheapest oven. Now, I am not on vacation to cook every night and I don’t expect a Wolfe oven, but at least some type of GE middle level range would be nice, especially at the price you are paying per night. The couch was ok but the single arm chair was worn out and filthy; I put a beach towel on it just to sit on it. They did have some nice décor on the wall and a very nice plastic Light house Shower curtain, Yippee. It is evident this owner unfortunately either does not care about their customers or simply can’t afford to own this condo. We were there with 7 other families and only 2 of the rooms were decent rooms. In fact, two of our family members promptly asked for a refund after being dismissed for their complaints after check in and left on the very first day. The Surf Song operates as a Condo Hotel, with maid service, linen service and onsite management. The property management was new and clearly was not in control. They obviously have not set any standards for owners to abide by when it comes to condition of units that are made available to the rental pool. They also did not handle themselves in proper manor when faced with unhappy customers. All they did is defend their position and quoted their policy. The 2 pools they advertise get hardly any sun as the building shades the pool area. There is also very little pool deck area and not nearly enough chairs, so if you want to sit around the pool get there very early. All in all, everyone in our party agreed this complex is not worth a fraction of the money we spent to stay there and surely better lodgings can be found elsewhere !
