Good prices, and great hot dogs! They seem to be well known for their salty balls. I however wasn’t a fan of the salty balls. They were definitely way too salty for my taste. The hot dog I got was the drunk dog cooked in beer with spicy mustard and sauerkraut. Served in a dog bowl. Very tasty.

I’ve been vacationing in Wildwood since I was in the womb and love it very very much! We drive into North WW and pass Maui Dogs, but today was the first time we tried it. Sorry to say the hot dogs we got(called cardiac arrest — dog, cheese and bacon) were just ok. Dog seemed undercooked, tasted like cheez wiz on it. Not great. The salty balls were good, iced tea not fresh tasting. Now that I’ve been chastised for my opinion… quite a leap to accuse a person of ruining a small business over not liking a hot dog! Had the people behind the counter been a little friendly, perhaps I would have said something. Wow. Way to make a customer want to try again. Wow. You’re mistaken on this for sure. There was no mix up on the drink size. And my initial review says nothing about being nasty. The second post was me expressing shock at your deference to customer service. That is even more reinforced by the defensiveness. Geez indeed.

So many gluten free options with designated Fryers to eliminate cross contamination. I brought my own roll(udi’s) and enjoyed fries and a soprano sausage sandwich! Wow was it a treat! My husband had the soprano hot dog. Really enjoyed the visit. You can call ahead for a reservation. Seating is outside on picnic tables. You go up and order your food and they call your number when it is ready. Definite go to place when you are visiting the area. Originally saw Maui dogs on Diners, drive in and Dives

I’ve been going to Maui’s Dog House since they opened. It has been a tradition for me to stop there for lunch, when I vacation in Wildwood, NJ. First, the food is excellent. Everything we’ve had here has been top notch. My favorite dog is the Eddie Mustard and I always pair it with a drink, fries and salty balls. The salty balls are wonderful. They are potatoes soaked in brine served with butter. I wish I could get these all year around. The dogs are served in a dog dish which the kids love. The service at the Dog House is great. My wife and I have been going to Mauis for more than 12 years and we have never had a problem. We have both interacted with the owners and staff and everyone has been pleasant. I think the prices at Maui’s were fair for being in Wildwood, NJ. Everything in Wildwood is generally a little more expensive than home, so we really don’t mind. If you are in Wildwood give Maui’s Dog House a try. You will be glad you did.

Lol… Ms. Maui why did you delete your first response to my review and replaced it with one? Did you reveal something(like where purchase your retread cups) by mistake. A cup is not just a cup if I wanted Burger King, Wendy’s or a World Cup paper cup I’ll be sure to go there. Or was it that you are never going to accept credit/debit when you said you were working on that? Btw we were a party of 6, two dogs each, all of us had potatoes and drink so yeah using a credit card would have been nice as we are not cash people. I will refresh your memory we were sitting right next to the nice guy you berated because of his dog. The only person scaring customers is the staff not someone’s pet. I find your response both ignorant and arrogant but as a read more reviews being abused by staff is par for the course at Maui’s

Fun little find. Solid Chicago dog. I tried the salty balls. Give them a chance. Delicious with the butter for dipping. Food is served in dog bowls to add to the quirky atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Service is fast. Would visit again.

If you’re looking for a weiner with a side of hair, this place is for you! Cousin found a long black hair in his hotdogs. Fries are good and hot dog options with their toppings are very good, but owner with red hair needs an attitude adjustment. Their salty balls are nothing but mini baked potatoes with some sprinkled salt

Place — Odd This is an outside place, with a person to seat you at picnic tables, yet you have to go to a window to order your food. Confused? Ya… So was I. Food — Below average Bland tasting, very over priced, below average food. For a place that somehow made it on to the Food Network I expected way more. Not sure how they made the show. I’ve been here twice. The first time was a few years ago shortly after the Food Network episode aired. Our meal and experience wasn’t as bad at that time, however since then it’s gotten worse. The food taste, quality, price, and service have all gotten worse. Give it a try if you still want, but be aware that if you have an opinion that is anything but stellar… they will call you out on Social Media outlets. I mean… How dare someone give constructive criticism?

Just another hot dog… if it looks like a hot dog, tastes like a hot dog it’s a hot dog… the chili fries were weak… it was like pureed chili on the fries… basically they are able to get away with sub par dog food, since we are at the shore… Once you bowl is empty it is taken away super quick… I have been to some excellent hot dog stands this wasn’t one of them… What I also found interesting is that they call this a dog house, serve you in dog bowls… but are not pet friendly… I watched someone get told to remove their 3lb dog from under cover.

Hot dogs were a dissapointment. I was so excited to go after I heard they were on the food network but I felt sick after I ate them and they were way too expensive. I would not recommend or go back

Food was just ok. My burger was dry and tasteless. The chili cheese fries were better but still not great. The staff was less than friendly. I would not recommend and will not be returning in the future.

Traveling from Lewes, DE via the ferry, my boyfriend and I asked the ferry bartender, Paul to recommend a good restaurant in the Cape May area. He told us the the Two mile Crabhouse offered great seafood and drinks… so. we headed that way. Meh. Not for us… kinda stinky. Nothing to look at and picnic table seating. We sat at the tiki bar and I had a mediocre Dirty Banana. …and Unilocaled for a new place AND… HURRAY…stumbled upon Maui’s. We were greeted and seated in an outdoor, canopied area that was clean and neat. the menu had every hotdog combo you could imagine only better. Steve had the Horsey Chicago and I had the special of the day, the Kilani veal sausage with brocolli rabe… without a bun. I have to eat gf and there were no gf bread options. I did not need the bread at all but I would suggest offering a good gf bun option would make a lot of people very happy… us Celiac’s and the Paleo hipsters, too. The dogs were served in clean, clean, clean plastic DOGBOWLS! Wicked cool! We also ordered the Salty Balls. THEBEST potato side serving I ever had! Cheap, too but not cheap in quality. Absolutely fabulous, fun and well worth our slightly out-of-the-way trip. I want MORE. I wonder… if I brought my own bun, could I get a dog? EAT. THERE. NOW!

Went here because we saw it on tv. We were not disappointed. Got the Drunk dog and the Beachcomber dog. Beware: it seems as if the mustard is of the spicy variety, which was fine with me, but not the wife. The Bay seasoned fries are great. The salty balls are amazing. Must get the salty balls. If you’re within 10 miles of this place, you must stop! Food served in dog bowls. The only negative is they only accept cash and I never carry cash. Luckily I had $ 20 on me. Oh and there’s like nowhere to park. Definitely be back!

Discovered this hidden gem outside of the touristy parts of Wildwood and I’m glad I did! The place is small, but it’s bright colors makes it hard to miss. The menu is amazing, with so many different types dogs to try, and they’re all bursting with great flavors! Pair them with a side of salty balls or one of their types of fries and you’re going to have the best meal to ever come out of a dog bowl(yes, you read that right)!

So it’s not off the beaten trail, but it looks tiny and gives away the image that it might be bad. We showed up near closing but they took care of us anyway. Food was out quick and on the spot. They actually serve the food in a dog bowl which I got a kick out of. Fries were spot on, my dog was awesome. The buns were surprisingly not what I thought they were going to be. They weren’t your usual hot dog bun, the bacon was outstanding as always. I would have gotten two, but I had other places to eat out down here. Beware it’s cash only!

I had two of their dressed hot dogs, which were served with raw white onions, their delicious mustard, and chili. The chili is somewhat atypical in that they use finely ground beef seasoned with what tasted like nutmeg or cinnamon to me. Their rolls are different than I normally see with hot dogs(kind of Italian roll-ish), but very good. All served in dog food bowls :) Hot dog quality was very good. There’s some outside seating and you can call ahead for a reservation. Staff are engaging and fun, and seem to really enjoy what they are doing. I would definitely return to try some of their other recipes.

So this place is pretty cool. It’s outdoors so if you go and it rains, your most likely getting wet. The staff are all nice people. They welcome you as soon as you arrive. Being that it was 5 of us, we managed to all order something different. The burgers were good.(The Jimbo and the BBq Burger) The hot dogs left more to be desired. I ordered the forget about it and the cardiac dog. The hot dogs had a snap to it but im not sure what meat they used. I also order the maui fries which came with chili and cheese. The fries itself were crunchy. Very fresh. Whatever they put on the fries after the pull them off the stove it was NOTVERY appetizing. The cheese and chili are great but the seasoning made the fries lackluster. Needless to see the best part of my meal was the half and half. It was amazing! I would recommend the half and half and a burger for sure. Not to mention you’re eating out of a dog bowl lol

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and I could not love it more. If you’re a foodie and you like a place with a little spunk maui’s is your kinda joint. They have a so many different options and I’ve liked everything I’ve ever had there. They recent within the past couple years have expanded their menu to include chicken, burgers, and veg options. Do not come here if you are on a diet. Also they have a similar personality to the cheesesteak establishments of Southern Philadelphia. You need to know what you’re ordering and how to say it when you get up to the window or you will get sassed. They don’t play around here. All in all it’s a North Wildwood checkpoint and you should go at least once. My favorite as a Sloppy Shawn with cheese and the Hawaii 5 – 0 fries.

We’ve been vacationing in Wildwood for years and part of our tradition is going to Maui Dog. During our drive to the shore, my kids are already asking when we are going there for lunch. The food is always great! Salty balls are my fav! The hot dogs are awesome! And I’m not a big hot dog fan. Lots of variety!!! You can try something different every time you go! The owners are always there. They greet you with a smile and despite serving thousands of people each season, they remember your face. They work hard and it shows. Maui’s has gotten super popular & busy, so you may want to call ahead and reserve a table. Or you can take you chances and just show up. We did the other day and we were seated right away. The gentleman who was the host was very nice. He asked if we had been there before and for those who hadn’t, he explained the menu and the ordering process. Maui Dog has been in business for a long time for good reason… great food, great service and owners who really care about their customers!
