Had the stuffed French toast. Amazing food, great service and extremely fair prices! Will be coming back often!

Nothing smells better on a Sunday morning than bacon grease, waffles, and cologne from strangers standing in close proximity waiting for a table. Julie’s uses that grease to oil the gears that keeps the diner machine moving. It’s apparent that everyone has this routine memorized despite the daunting crowd. Food is good. Prices are fair. There isn’t really anything exceptional about the menu, say maybe for the stuffed french toast which is not what it title alludes to. It’s more like a french toast club sandwich. 3 layers of french toast with egg, cheese, and bacon or sausage in between. Julie’s is very good at selling the suburban Americana experience. Stereotypical diner atmosphere. Friendly service with light banter and a descent cup of coffee. What more could you ask for?

Update: Not so great on this visit. 1st, I was meeting a friend for breakfast and I arrived about 5 – 10 mins before him, and they wouldn’t seat me. «Sorry, can’t seat you at a table until your whole party is here»… Really? What if I want to have a cup of coffee while I wait? What if I’m alone, can I not eat alone here? Dumb, and thoughtless policy. I wasn’t asking for a table for 10 or a booth, just seating for two. Anyway, I ordered the #1 breakfast combo, and added on toast. That was a mistake. When it came out, both slices of the toast were 95% burnt. Would it have killed them to just NOT send out burnt food? To just serve me the rest now and tell me my toast will be right out? Nope. The sausage links were unfortunately not the yummy kind with the casing, they were more like«brown n’ serve», and the bacon was mostly fat & flab. My friend couldn’t get spinach in his omelet either. The eggs were pretty good(and the portion big), but I like to pile them on my toast to eat them, and upon doing so, all I could taste was toast burnage. blech! Finally, I will rate the blueberry pancakes a 2 out of 5. Denny’s or ihop pancakes are way better. These were dry and too thick, and the blueberries were all in one clump in the middle. It was nice to catch up with a friend over breakfast, and while the breakfast was okay… Meh. I’ve experienced better. PS: They don’t take american express.

Read some good reviews can’t say that I was impressed. Food was just fair service wasn’t even good. I’d much rather have Denny’s than go here again. Plus the place could really use a remodel

After reading about the great breakfast reviews for this diner I was very excited to come enjoy the food at Julie’s. From the start I did not really enjoy my experience. When we first walked in we noticed there were multiple open tables but a short wait with multiple people crowding the entrance because of how small the space is. Once we got seated we were ignored by our server for at least fifteen minutes and when she finally came to take our order you could tell she was not in a good mood and would have rather been somewhere else. Eventually we got our food and while my friend was eating the #5 breakfast plate she found a piece of what seemed to be glass in her hash-browns. As soon as we noticed this we both stopped eating and flagged down our server. Once our server came over she said«oh… um hold on»(NOAPOLOGY), and got her manager. The manager came over and said«actually that is not glass it is plastic. But I can get you some more hash-browns or something else if you’d like»(AGAIN, NOAPOLOGY)! This was beginning to get ridiculous so we just asked for our check so we could leave ASAP. Once we got the check we realized the entire meal was not deducted from the total only $ 3.00 was, now this would normally not bother me as much if our server thought to apologize or have any sense of remorse at all. I recently moved to the Syracuse area and can assure you I will NEVER be returning to this location and I will definitely tell my friends to stay away from such terrible service.

Waitress was really quick with the refills and checked on me multiple times. Didn’t catch her name but we can call her ‘tattooed vixen’. I normally don’t gripe about issues with staff, but when i first walked in i was acknowledged. The hostess just called me «young man»(dirty biker nomad was more fitting) and wrote something down but never asked for my name. She then took everyone else’s name behind me. Long story short, i stood around for abou 10 minutes waiting to be seated while everyone else that continued to arrive after me would be seated. Not sure if it was because i’m «some sort of mexican», a dirty foreign biker, or just a genuine mistake — but i’d go with one of the first 2 since she never bothered with my name. Suck it, lady. I ordered the meat lover frittata which comes as a «whole» or «half» — the whole is freakin massive. The vixen tried to talk me out of it and i should’ve listened, instead i chased it with a half order of french toast. Kudos to the dirty prison chefs because this stuff was good — nothing out of this world but definitely priced well for the portions. Lots of meat guts in this frittata. The staff all looked pretty scrappy and the waitresses like if they would be a better fit in some rockabilly dive. Not that it’s a bad thing, i just thought the people here looked so interesting that it was worth mention.

Awesome staff, consistently excellent food, nice diner, great prices. My favorite menu item is the egg and Tolstoy quesadilla that comes with sour cream if you like it. I don’t. Always too full to eat the heap of home fries. Yum. Also, they’re usually busy, but the place is rather small and I don’t know how you go more than 2 minutes without seeing a waitress. Not sure how service can be slow. I’ve never had an issue with needing something. The very funny brown haired woman always gets me a refill too. No complaints from me. Even love their Halloween decorations.

The food was okay. Typical diner breakfast food. Poor service — waited 15 minutes to be greeted and seated. Food took too long to come out. Got a side of toast and it came out half way after my main meal came out.

Stopped for breakfast while waiting on our delayed flight out of SYR airport. Best service we’ve had in a long time. The staff is a real pleasure. Portions were large and cooked perfectly. Prices easy on the pocket. Would go again.

What a wonderful discovery while I was in North Syracuse. The Unilocal ratings were really dead on for this place and desreves a 4 – 5 star rating, for sure. They serve breakfast and lunch. The food was excelllent and well prepared. Everything was fresh and delucious. I had to pack up and take half of it home with me. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. Love this diner!

Love this place and never had any reason to complain !! I read in an earlier post a women talking about a cup left on a booth back, it is still there !! But only because it is a show piece so that other local businesses can advertise on their cups, so I’m pretty sure it’s there for a reason not a dirty previously used one. You can see in her picture that it is attached to a base. Lol . Love the staff who treat everyone pretty much like family!

I really should love this place — I definitely dig greasy spoon, locally owned diners — but the service here just kills it for me. I’ve been a handful of times over the past 3 years and each visit is the same. There is typically an abundance of staff but they just can’t be bothered with you. I’ve had waitresses roll their eyes at a member of my party who was questioning the ingredients of a dish due to a severe garlic allergy. I’ve got about as good a chance at getting my coffee refilled as I do of entering the NFL draft next year. Usually takes a good 10 minutes past finishing your food to get the check. The food itself is pretty decent as far as diner food goes and I can say that I’ve never eaten anything here that I didn’t enjoy. Location is great as it is close to the airport. If you’ve got time to spare, give it a whirl — maybe you’ll be luckier than I have been.

Love this place! My favorite is their turkey baconclub with fries… One of the rare sandwiches I actually crave! It is big enough for 2 people to share. The service is always great for lunch; if going for brunch, expect a wait because it is a popular place!

I moved in up the road from this diner and have been going to it pretty consistently. The food is home made and delicious. The service is slow but only because there are so many recurring customers dying for a seat. The reason we have to wait for a table so often is why I’m giving this place only 3 stars. I would take my family, friends and even coworkers here for a meal.

Julie’s should be a go to spot for me since their location is just across from the airport entrance. I find myself at the airport often but, not Julie’s. I have eaten at Julie’s 3 times in six months. After the first two experiences, I told myself it had to be an off day for their staff. My third and final time confirmed that it is simply the way Julie’s is. First visit for breakfast was on a Sunday morning. there is a choice of tables, booths or some counter space. I chose a table and I sat at the only clean table. Other tables were either occupied by people or dirty dishes waiting to be removed. I sat, surrounded by the dirty tables, and expected that a staff member would certainly clean up the mess quite quickly. No, instead, a waitress came with a menu, then my coffee, took my order and still the dirty tables remained. Maybe they were short staffed. The food arrived: a basic ham and cheese omelet, home fries and toast. There was quite a bit of liquid on my dish surrounding my omelet. When i cut into the omelet, I found out why. They used cold cut style ham which is injected with lots of liquid. When heated it leaks out. So, soggy omelet and home fries. Home fries were seasoned with more than salt pepper or onion. I suspect some sort of «season salt» with a strong garlicky tone. The staff is rather loud, especially the kitchen. They have an open kitchen so you can hear everything, including them trying to talk above the din of the kitchen machinery and the 2 different competing stereo systems: one in the kitchen, the other on top of the hot chocolate machine. Bring the kids, they’ll be asking you what does the word %$#@!! mean? Second visit, the kitchen staff, noise and other conditions were unchanged. I also took greater notice of the overall shabby and unclean condition of the diner. I went with pancakes and bacon. Simple. I received the pancakes which were lightly browned and immediately upon cutting them open, it revealed a cool, uncooked liquid batter center. I could not eat that and asked for the dish to be replaced. It was replaced, promptly and without question. This time the pancakes were a nice color and properly cooked. Unfortunately, they were very average pancakes. Nothing that I can complain about but, I prefer above average food. Even if one does not prepare them from scratch, at least use a better pancake mix. Finally, visit or strike three. I chose a booth this time. Noise, dirty tables and booths, floors, torn seats and seat backs. It must have been employee play time as about 4 to 6 employees were fairly regularly at the nearby cash register or seated at the counter shooting the breeze. Despite this, my waitress was genuinely very prompt and polite. I was asked if I wanted anything to drink as I was seating myself and my coffee and menu were very pleasantly delivered. I ordered a simple combination breakfast of 2 eggs, home fries, sausage links and coffee. After ordering, I sat back and enjoyed the cacophony and observed a dirty drinking glass left on top of the seatback of my booth. Delightful. The food arrived. It looked fine. I had taken the risk in ordering a dish with homefries in the hopes that this time they would be less aggressively seasoned. Nope. My bad… The fried eggs were cooked properly, toast was good and the sausage was of the brown and serve variety. I ate what I could while leaving most of the homefries behind. I paid my bill and bid adieu to Julie’s for the last time.
