I just tried to go yesterday. Tolento’s is closed and has a for lease sign.

I came here with a friend a few months ago. I enjoyed it. The prices are a little high for the area, but the food and portions were very good. Everything was clean and neat, including silverware. The food was cooked properly as well. I owned a restaurant years ago with family and I know that this place was trying to maintain a quality restaurant. Its unfortunate they closed, but the economy is one factor and another is the clientele in the surrounding areas, who are probably more accustomed to fast food. I don’t mean that in a derogatory way, but the neighborhood has changed a lot in the last 10 years. One thing I would have improved is expanding the Italian selections since the owner is presumably Italian. I think I saw a couple on the menu. I would also try to keep things more centered on one theme. I thought there were too many choices.

11/22/2014 We stopped by Saturday night for dinner. The bar was not crowded so we took two seat and waited for a drink. We had been seated for over 5 minutes when the Female Rude Bartender approached us and we were informed that these seats were reseved! Move! First, I have never been a restaurant where Bar seats are reserved and there was no indication of being reserved! Second, We tried to move down at the bar but seats were obstructed and RUDE bartender offered no relief! Third, I went there because I had purchased 3 coupons which I will trade up to a better Restaurant. Fouth, OFFOURLISTOFRESTAURANTS!

I was very impressed with the staff, unreal how attentive they were. The owner is right on top of everything, and is out there helping his wait staff. The prime rib was great, I loved the twice baked potato very different spin.

Awesome place! Drove by this place a couple times & finally stopped in. Family owned and ran, their story is on the back page of the menu with their photo & you can locate them out on the dining floor not overseeing but helping, waiting tables and being active. Place is clean and nice on the inside. Bar, high tops, booths. Lots of TVs and an awesome music station! Food is bomb they seem to be a scratch Kitchen and went above and beyond to do whatever we would ask for.(We’re both indesive) the risotto is to die for, so def ask for that. Will def go back!

Made a reservation and when we arrived they had everything ready. Server was fantastic and food was delicious. Just what you want in a local restaurant. Sunday was absolutely the best day, just the right amount of attention from the staff. Can’t wait to try something else next time.

Ok disclaimer. The gf & I just stopped in for a few noonish drinks on a Sunday. I’ll leave a better(more in depth) review after I eat. Sat at the bar, a lot of beers on tap. Gf loved the selection. I had two mixed drinks. One was a signature drink to my(pleasant) surprise it had quite the punch! I’ll definitely be back. They also ALWAYS post some great specials on their Facebook!

I came here for dinner and drinks with a friend. We sat at the bar, really good food and good beer selection. I would definitely go back again. The owner was there and greeted us, really friendly guy. Try the egg rolls as an appetizer, we had pastrami which were delicious! To save some money buy a gift card off of .

I have to say that the prime rib they serve here is one of the best I’ve had as Is the shrimp Po-boy sandwich they have a great draft beer selection and plenty of tv’s to watch your favorite sport I’ve been here a few times a month and every time I’m here the owner is here walking around helping clear tables deliver food it’s nice to see a hands on owner who is in the trenches doing the dirty work.

Last night was my first time going since it was a Bickfords a long time ago. Needless to say I was very impressed. I don’t understand the negative reviews it has received. Service was not only fantastic but very friendly and accommodating. I had the egg rolls for an appetizer and the cajun prime rib and they were beyond amazing. Ignore the negativity on here and go give it a shot. I’ll definitely be back.

I’m quite indifferent about this place, and probably only frequent it because it is close to my house. They have a ton of items on their menu, which I don’t always like, it can be too overwhelming. All the meals I have gotten have been good, but nothing earth shattering. Their live music on the patio is fun, if not a bit loud, can’t really hold a convo with others at your table if you are sitting out there. It’s not a bad place to go on a whim if you are in the neighborhood.

Went in with my boyfriend. The service wasn’t bad. Our server was a little slow, but we forgave because the food was awesome. The buffalo chicken dip was great and I had a steak dish that was awesome. Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. Will def go here again.

Worst service I’ve had in a REALLY long time, and that’s not something I am quick to say. Looking at the other reviews, maybe we just got a bad server, but he was so terrible and painfully slow to get anything or to come back for an order that we won’t be back. The place definitely did a great renovation with the interior, but that’s its main plus. The menu has some decent items but many are overpriced for having bar food, and way too many things cost additional money. A side of fries is $ 5.50, and if you want cajun seasoning, it’s $ 7.50! I don’t mind spending more money for quality food, and I love fries, but they aren’t worth the price. Very disappointed.

You feel right at home the minute you walk through the door. Everyone from the host to the owner is so friendly! You have to try the Bavarian pretzels as an appetizer! I loved how easy it was to get to this restaurant. Right up 95 and right off 146. The front desk host, Marquis, was such a nice young man! The hostess was young and looked so pretty! I made our reservation online. When we were seated at our booth, there was a sign that said, Welcome(our last name) party! What a nice touch! We were greeted by the friendliest waitress, Ivy. My husband was uncomfortable in the booth, and she was more than happy to move us to a table. I really liked the set up of the restaurant. There are regular booths, very pretty high booths, tables, and beautiful high tops in the area on one side of the bar. There were a few tv’s, which was nice! We were able to watch the NHL playoff game from our table, which we enjoyed! We started with the Bavarian pretzels which came three long with sea salt on a plate. They were baked and pull apart hot and fresh! We have had these at Smokey Bones and Friday’s, but they are deep fried there and way too greasy. These were nicely baked! The Executive Chef, James, the owner’s son, came to our table and asked us how our food was. He introduced himself. What a very nice, mature young man. James trained in New Orleans. He moved back up to Rhode Island to work in his father’s restaurant. On weekends, he makes sure to include a cajun special on the menu. We sampled four of his cajun dishes, and my husband was wowed by this. He loves southern food! I had the chicken parm sandwich with french fries for $ 11.99. The chicken portion was amazing! I could not possible eat it all. I loved that I was given a parmesan cheese shaker. I do not like when other restaurants make the server stand over you with the grater. I like a lot of Italian cheese and like to control how much I have! The chicken was delicious and very authentically Italian. The bread that the chicken was on was very, very fresh and ever so lightly toasted. It was very good! The french fries were crispy and satisfying! Sean had a steak with two stuffed shrimp, a huge potato croquette, and zuchini. He was so in love with the croquette, lol. It was a baked potato that was stuffed with seasoned mashed potatoes, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried. Sean thought the croquette could be on the appetizer menu; it was so good! During our meal the owner, Tom, came out from the kitchen and introduced himself. His son looks just like him. What a nice guy! We talked for a while about his food and his business. Sean and I both decided to have dessert, which we rarely do. We each had our own which was Warwick Creamery vanilla ice cream, three scoops, drizzled with Hershey Syrup and topped with fresh whipped cream and a cherry. I never eat ice cream, because I watch my weight. The ice cream was incredibly creamy and delicious. It was a great, light and satisfying dessert! Our waitress, Ivy, was so nice, professional and attentive during our entire dinner. She came back and checked on us frequently making sure we had drink refills. The menu is pretty extensive. It has many appetizers, a lot of Italian dishes, many great sandwich and wrap choices, burgers and weekend specials! We were invited to come back again. We will return soon with our children!

An amazing experience to say the least. Went for dinner, party of 2, at 9:30pm with full dinner service until 10pm. I was immediately impressed with the very friendly hostess & waitress. Service was beyond fantastic, and food was amazing. I don’t have any complaints except I wish I found this place sooner. Gorgeous inside, plenty of parking right on site. After drinks, appetizer, and dinner we were pretty full but still ordered dessert to try and it just put this restaurant over the top. Had carrot cake & baileys /coffee for dessert with whipped crème. Definitely be back soon.

I’ve headed out to Tolento’s a few times now having been called to the area for work and in need of a meal. Each time, I’ve been pretty favorably impressed. The décor is heavy on the wood without being over the top and generally modern. The bar especially is a lovely throwback to the 1920’s and really quite beautiful. The service is solid and attentive. Servers don’t seem stressed or fake in the corporate manner you’d get with a chain and generally know what’s going on in the kitchen and at the bar. The owner is right on top of managing the front of house, so there’s rarely any kind of wait– even on a busy night. Since the new management, the place seems to have seriously picked up the game with food. Gone are the Sysco from a box type offerings, and in are the North Providence favorites with a fascinating(and pretty authentic) Cajun twist if you order the right thing on the menu. Their chili is outstanding and refreshingly spicy. I’d just fault them for their liquor selection. It seems like they didn’t really craft a liquor supply and just got whatever random beer/wine/liquor that their distributor wanted to unload. The selection is acceptable but not impressive behind the bar. Otherwise– go, eat and try something spicy or just revisit an Italian classic! You won’t be disappointed.

I see the reviews and scratch my head. But fear not I said to myself and gave it a whirl recently. Anyways, food was very good although I only had apps, and drinks a good pour. Everyone was more than pleasant and welcoming throughout the experience. I think this maybe a beer lovers spot as it seemed there was a good selection of quality drafts. I give it 4 stars, but certainly not the 2 others have. Worth your time to give it a try. Especially for the bar specials. The menu did seem to be priced high for the area, but I would have to order an entrée to verify that.

I went here tonight for the first time. The atmosphere is good. The bar has lots of nice wood details(although it was a bit dusty near the columns) and I loved the tin ceiling. The seating areas were modern-looking but not cold. The back wall has a fireplace and the place has the right number of TVs so that you can catch the major action during a game without having a real sports bar feel. About 12 beers were on tap, including Sam Adams, Sam Adams seasonal, the Shock Top seasonal, Blue Moon, Smithwicks, Abita Purple Haze, and then some crap light beers. I only saw the set of taps in the front and ordered a Sam seasonal, but I wish I would have seen the others on the other side of the bar. The bartender was friendly and the service was good. The food, however, was mediocre. I ordered the french dip. The bun was weak and did not hold up to the rest of the sandwich. The meat was very dry(overcooked; no pink center) and did not seem to be of good quality. The horseradish mayo was better than the au jus. I had a side salad with the sandwich. The cucumbers were fresh, but the tomatoes were frozen.(Expected at this time of the year, but, if they are frozen, don’t put them on the salad.) I think we will probably give Ice House another shot. North Providence desperately needs a reasonably-priced, good restaurant so we’re rooting for Ice House. However, I was not wowed on my first visit.
