I used to really like«Wildfire”/The Fire. They have a good selection of salads, sandwiches, pizzas and entrees. Recently, I think The Fire has gone down hill. Especially for takeout/delivery, which is disappointing because there aren’t many delivery options in the area with such variety. On at least four different occasions, I have had issues with delivery orders. Whether it be something small like missing salad dressing/wing sauce, to rubbery chicken, to receiving the wrong entrée altogether, I honestly just started to anticipate that a wrong order would show up at my door. I understand that delivery in itself leaves room for a decrease in the quality of food compared to dining in, but, for the prices The Fire charges, the frequency of errors/poor quality is inexcusable. To be fair to management– on one occasion my boyfriend and I drove back to the restaurant when the food we received was practically inedible, and they issued us a full refund. We were also told to ask for a manager when ordering takeout in the future, but at this point. it’s not worth the risk.

two consecutive times we ordered delivery, each time was told 35 – 40 minutes, and each time it took over an hour. on top of that, the pizza was cold and not what I ordered. After the first incorrect order, I called and talked to the manager. He promised a refund, which never happened. The second time I told the delivery driver to tell the manager that we will not be ordering delivery any further. it’s a shame because the food is very good, but I won’t give my $ to a place that doesn’t follow through on what they advertise as a «service». Cold and incorrect orders and I don’t mix. How ironic that a place called«the fire» delivers cold food.

First time to this place and my wife and I were very happy we went(so much her with the two margaritas she ordered!). We ordered the oven fire wings(and they come with caramelized onions, which were just as good) and the meat lovers flat bread. Everything was great and delicious. The pizza had great taste to it, hot and spicy. Service was splendid. Would go again but we are just passing by. If we stop in Providence again and feel like eating good pizza, we know we’re to go.

Good flatbread and thin crust style pizzas, I can’t eat dairy so it’s nice they offer goat cheese. Yeah have good wings and apps too. They get really busy during weekends so come early.

I had seen this place on the Phantom Gourmet and decided to take the ride down from MA. There are not many times you can say that a meal was a treat. The service was excellent, chicken wings cooked in a wood fired oven were the best I’ve ever had. The pizza was incredible with many specialty options, but also the choice to create your own. I look forward to a return visit for the one pound meatball appetizer and some of the plate selections. Well done!

I like this place! I’ve been a few times now, and I can’t say I’ve disliked anything I’ve eaten. Pizzas and calzones are well executed; entrees are large and tasty. Check out the specials when you visit — I had a pork shank that was simply amazing. Appetizers are pretty appetizing too: the one pound meatball is impressive and delicious, stuffed mushrooms yummy, and rosemary chicken wings will satisfy(tip: ask for well done — they aren’t too crispy because they’re baked). Surprisingly, the lunch soup/sandwich combo was one of my favorites. I really loved the chicken escarole soup and the California BLT. All meals start with fresh, hot bread and a plate of garlic and herb olive oil. Add a pinch of salt and it’s perfect. Try this place out! You won’t regret it. Interesting, tasty food without the hassle of parking or traffic in the city!

For a neighborhood joint in NP this place wasn’t bad! The ambiance inside was really nice, would be just fine for a date. They had a very large bar and our service was really good. They gave us herb rolls with olive oil which was yummy to start. We figured we should try out the pizza so we went with the Forager, which was topped with tomato sauce, cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and caramelized onions(which could have been caramelized a bit more). The outer crust of the pizza was perfect, but sadly the part with toppings was soggy. This I attribute to too much sauce, plus the moisture from the vegetable toppings. I think if it had been cooked a bit longer the sogginess could have been avoided. But the taste was there, I would probably just ask for it cooked well-done next time. We’ll be back since we had an overall good experience, and I need to try that one pound meatball they have on the appetizer menu!

Not much to write home about here… mediocre décor, an older crowd of regulars who are greeted and treated much better than you, and food that’s just meh. We went in for our first RI Food Fights Lord of the Pies experience since this place is closest to our house. First of all, you can only use your passport coupon if you have two of them in order to receive a one topping pizza. I actually asked what would happen if you only had one and the bartender just shrugged her shoulders and mumbled, «guess you wouldn’t get anything.» Okay, whatever, we had two so nothing to harp on. Just meh. Our salad was pre-made and came out within about 13 seconds of ordering. Meh. Our pizza, pepperoni, had a sweet sauce and was the kind that you didn’t want to eat leftovers of. Kind of like that house of pizza style where you better eat it hot because it isn’t going to be good in an hour. Again, meh. Silver lining — their rolls and olive oil are really good. And free. Overall, meh, and we won’t be returning any time soon.

Having just moved to the neighborhood, this place is a great find! It has a beautiful décor and a warm feel to it. There are lots of seasonal choices, which is something I really love! I think it shows that the chefs are really thinking about seasonal ingredients when they put a lot into seasonal specials. In the summer, the menu was chock full of seafood options and delicious summery drinks. The fall menu has lots of droolworthy fall treats, from pumpkin squash ravioli to a butternut squash and goat cheese pizza. The best part about this place is the brick oven pizza! They have tons of fresh topping options and the crust is thin and crispy. They also have lots of specialty pizza options! The pizza was even better as leftovers for lunch the next day! If you are looking for a great place with an everchanging menu, but lots of favorite staples too, this place is awesome!

This was my second day for the rifoodfights lord of the pies pizza month. I was hungry so no thought on what I was going to have. Large pie with pepperoni I should have gotten a app the wife was just as hungry and thank God they put out some warm bread rolls with olive oil and garlic. When we first arrived I was like yeah okay came, as we came inside I was like Uh oh it’s a fancy restaurant but I did see others dressed down. Definitely loved this pizza I’m always into trying it made differently especially wood fire or coal. I don’t know it taste better for some reason. I would definitely recommend this place to others to try out

The restaurant is a very beautiful brick oven type of place. Large bar and dining room. Never had a bad dish here. My only complaint is sometimes the service. If you go close to closing, you’ll get the feeling your unwanted. Other than that, no complaints. Certainly on the list of regulars.

Went here on a Friday night, the kitchen closes at 10pm we were there at 9:50, the hostess told us this was not an issue and we could sit at the bar. The bartender was great, told us about their deal of $ 5 apps until 10pm so she got our order in right away. We chose the mozzarella wedges 5 to an order which had a generous serving of sauce and they were a nice size; we also got the meatballs which came 5 to the order, decent size and very flavorful! Such an amazing deal for $ 10. There was an expired Groupon that we had which wouldn’t count toward the special but the manager came over and made sure we could use it for our drinks. Very accommodating and extremely friendly! The drinks she made tasted great, I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food. Just those appetizers were absolutely delicious!

We went to eat here on Friday night and after being seated no one ever came over to fill our water glasses or ask if we wanted drinks. After looking over the menu and waiting a little longer we decided to get up and leave. Wont be back.

I have never eaten in at the restaurant, so this review is solely based on take-out. I have order take out from here 4 times. The first 3 times were during lunch time on a weekday. I have order flatbreads, soup, calamari, and wings; not the best, but we’re good. The last time order was last Saturday night. I order the surf and turf dish, which is steak and grilled lobster with mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini. They put the whole meal in the same container. That was the biggest mistake they could’ve made. The lobster carries a lot of water, so when the container was closed all the water went to the bottom of the container which the mashed potatoes and zucchini retained most of the water. The zucchini was all soggy, and had no flavor; the least someone could season zucchini is salt and pepper. The mashed potatoes were all watery. The sides were just not edible. The steak also had no flavor. Whoever the chef was that night needs to learn how use a little salt and pepper. I am not rushing any time soon to order from this place. If I ever do again it will be during the weekday and for lunch. Before Saturday night, I would’ve given this place a 3 maybe a 4.

So, if you’re going out to drink, this might be a pick. Decent drinks, a good marguarita and a decent sangria. But for food, definitely not. Pizza tasted just like«drive-in» pizza, bad sauce, bad crust — we sent it back and declined to get anything else to replace it. Dining companion had a burger but she said it tasted just like the burgers you get in bulk at Sam’s Club. And the bun for her burger was so old that it just came out like bread crumbs. Feh. Antipasto was pretty bad, according to my guests, the prosciutto was awful, they couldn’t eat it it was so dry and nasty. And the food is expensive. Definitely skip it.

Not impressed. Ordered a strawberry salad for lunch and it was $ 20! Figured it would be great — it was okay at best. It had chicken, which is why it was $ 20 not $ 14. The problem is that it was all arugula and hardly any almonds or goat cheese! Don’t do it!

I came here last week and had an ok meal. We split the meatball app which is a 1 lb meatball. For some reason it seemed small. We also got the aptly named arugula pizza. Warning, it has like 2 pounds of arugula on it. I was thinking there would be a little sprinkled on top. Not a giant salad on top. We also had a few drinks which were good. Bartenders were very friendly. All in all it was ok. We had bought a groupon an hour before we came here. When we got the bill it was still«processing» so we couldn’t use it. This was a problem with groupon, not the restaurant. Regardless, it was annoying.

I had a bad experience here today and felt the need to get it off of my chest. I’m knocking my previous 4 star review down to 2 star review and it’s based simply on the horrible service alone. Prior to today’s visit for dinner with a couple of friends, I’ve always had a fairly decent dining experience here, however; today wasn’t up to par, at all. We arrived at 5 p.m., on a late gorgeous Sunday afternoon, not exactly the busiest time of day for people to dining, especially inside instead of outside. Upon walking in, we were promptly greeted seated although I wouldn’t necessarily called it «seating guests» because before I had even sat down, the hostess had dumped the menus on the table and was already back at her stand; I was the one to hand out our menus. The bus boy came by to fill our water glasses followed by our waiter about 5 minutes later and took our drink order. He barely introduced himself and gave off the vibe that he just didn’t give a shit about being there. Two of us ordered the meatball calzone and the other ordered a bacon-blue cheeseburger which came with fries of your choice, but the waiter didn’t ask so my friend had to tell him after he had already started walking away from the table. Thankfully, the food came out fairly quickly and was actually the only saving grace of today’s visit; had the food been terrible, I would’ve complained to the manager on duty and I’m just not that type of person and don’t pull that card our hardly ever. Our waiter came by once to see how we were doing and then again as we were all still mid-bite to ask if we wanted to wrap up our plates. Seriously? I’m not sure if today totally deterred me from making another trip to The Fire, but I’m certainly in no rush to get back there.

You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have The Fire Brick Oven Pizza. SO inconsistent. Today’s visit wasn’t bad. Service was slow, but there were only two people waiting tables and our waiter seemed to have the bulk of the tables while the other waitperson seemed to keep stopping at a nearby table to chit chat with her friends. After being seated we were given herb rolls with oil and roasted garlic. The rolls were warm and hit the spot on a cold, rainy day. I enjoyed the StumpJump Shiraz I ordered, but it shouldn’t take over twenty minutes for a second glass to appear after ordering it. We started with the Littlenecks and beans. The broth was flavorful, with white beans, celery, lemon, sausage and herbs. An order was only seven Littlenecks though. This seemed a little stingy for $ 12.95. We both opted to get a cup of the chicken escarole soup. There was no skimping here. It was loaded with chicken, pasta, celery, carrots and escarole. I wish it had a tad more flavor though. For entrees my husband ordered the salmon, which he enjoyed, and I had the individual arugula pizza. The pizza is a good size for $ 6.95 and I brought half home. There was a ton of arugula, enough for a large salad. The arugula was mixed with balsamic vinaigrette and a small amount of prosciutto. Where this pizza fell short was the actual pizza part. The crust had just a small amount diced tomatoes and a little bit of crispy cheese. I’ve had arugula pizza before at a few places and those were executed much better than what I had today. I’ve been here before with my mother for lunch. We both ordered calzones and her calzone was very burnt on the bottom and she sent it back. While she was waiting for them to remake the calzone the manager came by to check in. She comped my mother’s meal and offered us a free dessert. I appreciated the manager making things right. We didn’t have any mishaps today, but let me tell you about the table next to us. The woman ordered chicken Parmesan and it was burnt on the bottom so she sent it back. Her companion had long finished his meal and she was still waiting for her meal when the manager came by. Again the manager comped her meal and offered her a free dessert. After she finally ordered the dessert it was taking so long she got it to go. When it finally arrived, it was missing the whipped cream and berries and she had to send it back. Maybe The Fire should do a better job on quality control on the food before it leaves the kitchen. It’s obviously an issue and has been for a while. Someone back there just doesn’t care.
