It’s the only Italian place in town. Hoping it would be legit, it seemed very generic. The pasta was over cooked and broke when my fork touched it. A big No No to Italians. The food was steaming hot, but my guess was that they microwaved it. «WHY?» I had had my plate 15 minutes already and when I moved my chicken… sauna. We did order a cannoli to share and instead of creamy filling, it felt like grit. I keep hearing how great it is but, because of the one experience, I am iffy on returning.

This is the only place in the area to get decent pizza. It’s the closest you can get to New York style pizza that I’ve had since coming to Nebraska. If you like pasta they nail it everytime. If you like it spicy, get the Chicken Murphy. One of the best things on the menu. We are hurting for great restaurants here in N.P. THANKGOODNESSFORLUIGI’S!

So I was told about this place so decided to try it out for myself. Well its the old BBQ place and not much has changed from its design. Other then a few pictures and the counter being removed. So I ordered a spaghetti The Works plate. I guess it came with a salad and bread. The bread did not taste fresh and was not even warm. Maybe that is how it is here I don’t know first time here. It tasted ok nothing special though. The salad. just a bowl of lettuce with a wedge of tomato and a few onion pieces. The ranch dressing tasted watered down to me but it could be just me on that. On to the main course. When I seen her walking it to my table I was thinking what is that a plate of dog chow? It looked horrible on first impression. How ever it tasted great. Needed more sauce but other wise was good. My suggestion would be to leave the sausage whole and the meat ball whole as well. Because it looked like some one had taken pieces from what ever got left on some other plate and recycled to mine. Yes it looked that bad to me. I am sure it was not but it looked bad. The price was average. North Platte does not have a lot to choose from and this being different then the others needs to stand out from the others. I dinged this place for the following. Bread not warm butter did not melt when spread on it. The main meal looked terrible. The décor was not new and fresh and reminded me of the BBQ place that was before it.

Wow! My dad has been raving about this Italian place in North Platte for years. Last night Luigi’s was THE destination, and it didn’t disappoint. The service was just that. Our needs were taken care of and the speed was acceptable. Now for the food. First a fresh salad. Well done. Just a basic side salad, but it was tasty and simple-a little tomato and red onion on top of a romaine mixture. The entrees were filling. Dad’s favorite lasagna stuffed him. It was piping hot out of the oven and held its temperature well. Great portions. My Chef’s Special was Chicken, Spinach, and Mushrooms on a bed of spaghetti top with a white wine Alfredo sauce. It too was hot and portioned well. It was well balanced in flavor. The rolls served were decadent– hot, fluffy and sweet. AND they kept coming. Finally the cannolis were incredible. You saw the picture of mine. Half of dad’s came home with us and surely he will enjoy it soon. Will definitely visit again and try the Tour of Italy. Researched the perfect Chicken Parmigiana never ends. Make sure you’re hungry when you come. The appetite of your guests will be satisfied.

I thought it is a good place for Italian I was hungry for it and it satisfied that hunger. I had the tour of Italy it gave me a taste of a few different things. The server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I’ll be coming back.

Absolutely the best pasta and sauce I’ve ever had! I had the Tony’s special. It was beyond good. We got it to go, my dad and sister live in North Platte and I live in Colorado, so we ate at my dad’s. Friendly service and was pretty quick too. can’t wait to visit again to get to eat here!

Had dinner there last night. We were a group of 8. Service was excellent, waitress was very knowledgeable. Good came out quite fast, hot and together. This is the second time I ate at this establishment. Prices were palatable as well. We come in from Omaha quaterly and look forward to chowing down here every chance we get.

First the location: Luigi’s is located at the SW corner of E St. and Southbound Jeffers. If you are coming from the South, take Northbound(Jeffers?) to E St. Turn left and cross the southbound side. As soon as you cross Jeffers turn left into Luigi’s parking lot. The décor is a little strange. What is it about corrugated metal that makes it Italian? Our server was prompt and friendly. We ordered the pasta trio and chicken picatta(not on the menu as such but that was no problem). The pasta trio was a hot mess. The three items were baked together in a small dish and it was hard to tell one from the other. The whole thing was covered in burnt cheese. As for the chicken dish, I was expecting chicken breasts over pasta. Instead I got cut up pieces of chicken that were tossed in the pasta at the last minute. The chicken tasted like it had been boiled. It had no lemon flavor at all. On the positive side the warm rolls were very good. We were just passing through NP so we didn’t want our leftovers. Our server seemed delighted with that as she takes leftovers home to her dog. She said her dog«really likes the leftovers she brings home». She probably shouldn’t have used her dog as a reference as to how good the food was.

Solid italian spot, but a very weird location. The building used to be a bbq place where you ordered in a big window up front and now its a sit-down place, leaving the old window up front looking kind of funky. But hey, as long as the food is good I’ll continue to eat there. My favorite iltalian joint in town, but it’s a pretty weak competition.

initially, I was unsure if we should stay. took 10 minutes to order… and noone else was in there to eat. So initial service was too slow for my taste. Finally got our orders in, and we had food on table rather quick, maybe 5 minutes. AND… it was great chow. I had an Ital sausage app, really good, and a Pasta Combo main. Also REALLY good. Wife had a pasta dish of primovera and was very good also. We did have to ask for olive oil/basalmic, but no prob there. Bread rolls were real good. Not wow, but real good. We both had coffee and water. I would sure return when in the area. Thanks folks. Well done.

This place came highly recommended by the locals. Wine was good. The salad was iceberg with a little bit of Romaine. Strike 1. I ordered chicken pomodoro. The chicken had that«off» taste that means it was probably not the freshest. Strike 2. The sauce was good and the pasta was cooked nicely. It was very slow, so I was treated to several staff members who stood around. I kept feeling like I was being watched. Then midway through my meal — some obnoxiously loud noises came from somewhere — like a racing scene from Fast and Furious turned up all the way. Even the busser had an annoyed look on her face. It must have been the house speaker system or something. Strike 3. That sealed this places fate with me — I was no longer even remotely enjoying this meal. Time to go. On the plus side — the chef came out and engages with customers and my waitress was sweet Nd attentive.

They have the worst lemonade ever! I ordered chicken and it was over cooked and the tomatoes were undercooked.

We regularly stop in North Platte on our road trips. We used to stop at the fast food places right at the beginning of the strip until one day we decided to give Luigi’s a try. Best decision ever. We’ve now stopped here 4 times and the food and service was always good and fast. The kids are now looking forward to stopping here. Their Tortellini alla panna is incredibly tasty. Their pizza’s have a wonderful thin crust. And if you’re there at the right time they might play some ’80 Italo Pop — Gianna Nannini, anyone?

I heard great reviews about this place, but was underwhelmed. They were PACKED when out group of 7 arrived, but were able to seat us fairly quickly. There’s really no waiting area, so we stood in front of the door between tables. Lots of choices & they have smaller portions available during lunch hours. They have nice music, dishes, food — but it seems out of place in a crowded building which used to be a casual BBQ joint. The complimentary bread was fresh & warm & comes in individual loaves. Entrees come with a choice of Italian or Caesar salad. We were served very quickly, considering how busy they were, & that we had a fairly large group. My food was just OK. Biggest complaint: We were seated next to the rear door, which was propped open with a chair(we assumed to help ventilate the smoke from the kitchen). I was freezing, & they closed it when I asked — only to reopen it about 10 minutes later. :(Single stall bathrooms.

Excellent food and service! Very speedy too on a Saturday night with a line out the door. Definitely will be back when we’re in town.

The food we had was AWFUL! The salad was plain lettuce, the rolls were tough, and the entrees were sub-par on every level. The veal marsala was more like a tough pork chop than veal. Save your money and cook a pot of pasta at home; Ragu is better.

Great food, especially the bread. Authentic Italian sauce. It is really busy right now but they have lots of staff on hand to handle it. Hope they build another one on the south side of town.
