A new owner took over July 2014. The steamed muscles are excellent and so is the peach wheat beer. He promises to stay open through the winter.

Hapless but earnestly well-intentioned food and service. But the location! Back patio on a gorgeous evening… they could have thrown me a can of spam and I would have been grinning ear to ear. Following an 11-hour drive from Chicago, I just wanted something to eat and a chilly glass of white wine, and I couldn’t bear the thought of the recommended-by-the-hotel-desk-clerk Applebee’s, so I did a quick search and found this place. Wouldn’t do it differently given the chance… but be patient… fine dining, it is not.

My favorite place to go in North Platte! Food is good, but I really go for the outdoor patio! It’s right on the water and it’s the closest I feel to home(I’m from Florida). They do not have liquor, but they serve beer and wine.

Pulled into the $ 25 camping site on a Friday night with the intention of staying one night. It’s interesting, I’ll leave it at that. As for the restaurant, we came in around 8pm and got a table within 10 min. It was busy and we were ok with a wait as we had nothing else to do. Several patrons that came in after us in smaller numbers had ordered after us and already received/eaten their food… albeit salads and pastas. Our waitress came out and questioned … «you haven’t received your food yet?». I refrained from the obvious return answers/questions, as we sat at an empty table and a lack of food delivered by her, our waitress. After 55 minutes, they finally delivered our children’s plain quesadilla for the 5 and 9 year old, and hamburger for 3 year old. It was warm, nothing special, but as expected. My wife and I received our food 10 minutes later, and it was ok. Wait staff throughout appeared to care less, which was probably carryover from the owner. We finished eating just before 10 pm but had half of a drink left. But we decided to leave at that point as they were sweeping the floors and putting up chairs on the tables around us. We paid the bill and left without so much as a thank you, or hope to see you again. I don’t typically say this, and I tend to give everyone 2nd and 3rd chances in the restaurant business, but not here. Eat here at your own risk. Walking in knowing my experience will at least set you up to order several drinks, and not really be surprised if everything doesn’t go your way.
