Dixie Steakhouse and Buffet

The GF and I were feeling spontaneous and looking for an adventure so we popped into this former Ponderosa one Saturday night. An adventure is what we had. The neon signs out front advertise «All You Can Eat Steaks for $ 9.99» but this is qualified inside with a sign stating that the limit for «All You Can Eat Steaks» is 10. THis bothers me for two reasons:
1. There was apparently a problem with people eating MORE than 10 steaks at a sitting.
2. If the steaks are that plentiful and that cheap the quality must be frightening.
That being said, we avoided the steaks all together. The restaurant was clean, and the service was fine, but the food was pretty lackluster. I wasn’t expecting the Bellagio or anything, but the pickins were slim and the quality was just so-​so. Overall, it was pretty unimpressive, and if you feel the urge to test the AYCE Steak offer, you are a braver soul than I.
