I grew up eating at Friendly’s restaurants. This was by far the worst one ever. The service was lazy. The ice cream was completely melted upon receiving it due to the hot-right-out-of-the-dishwasher temperature of the glass. I remember as a kid the toppings and sauce overflowing from the portion size. This sundae left room in the cup to fit even a cheeseburger.

Nasty food, nasty service just yuk all over. Had to wait 20 min to get a seat and ended up in two separate booths then it took another hour to cook sunny side up eggs which came out over easy. Save hour self time and money. Food is terrible.

ate breakfast here today, food was good. We will be back. I had the double up and is was good. My son had chicken sandwich with fries which he liked. My daughter had kids macaroni and hotdogs with ice cream and included drink. My wife had the special 2 eggs, bacon, toast and grits which was good. I would recommend it to everyone.

I was sceptical but was pleasently suprised. The food was really good. The kids meals were the best part. For the money, the kids meals were very generous and fun. It made for a great family eating environment.

Tried to ignore the bad reviews as I sat down and waited. After being seated and waiting fifteen mins and still not being asked even what I wanted to drink when there was only two other tables dining at the time we left. This place needs help

Great service! A group of 12 of us came in for ice cream. Amazing time. My biggest regret is not getting the name of the waitress. She was fabulous. Tall, blonde with a great southern accent that my vacationing friends just loved. She’s only been working here a week and she’s doing great!

Took our 4 grandkids to Friendlys tonight having read some pretty bad reviews. Our service was fantastic and the food was good friendly’s food. After pointing our some bad reviews, the waiter said the manager was correcting the problems, starting by firing several who weren’t there to work. Give it a try because it was one of the best Friendly’s we’ve been at and it’s nice to see this kind of spirit!

The place was pretty empty and was very clean except their was water spots on the ceiling. The food was really amazing but it did take forever to get it seemed. Everyone loved the food. The ice cream was not very good which was surprising. The waitress was really nice. I would not mind going back at all.

So this place sends out coupons for buy one get one free, three scoop sundaes. My wife and I are going up that way anyway so we figure sure, we’ll try it. It takes a very long time for anyone to take our order but finally a girl comes along. We are very pleasant while ordering our sundaes and she is very pleasant while taking our order. Then she goes away for a very long time making the sundaes. She brings them to us in paper bowls that are no more than ½ filled with ice cream and toppings that are so scant we can hardly see them, much less taste them. Okay, so we are paying ½ price but I didn’t realize that also meant ½ sundaes. The price with tax was $ 5.50. If we were paying full price – $ 11.00 – I would not have accepted the sundaes. I have always thought the idea behind sending coupons was to get people into your store, have them like the place, and come back. Well, we won’t be going back. Friendly’s? How about Chintzy’s?

Pretty much the only reason this place gets 2 stars is I grew up on friendly’s ice cream and I just love their sundaes. This particular location is not exactly run efficiently. No complaints on food or ice cream, but service was soooooo slow! Lucky for them I’m a sucker for the mint cookie crunch sundae.

Well, it’s a Friendly’s. Not too much else to say — other than we were seated immediately and had an attentive waitress. Inside is nice and the pond adds a little ambience. We came for lunch on a Sunday and it was not too busy so perhaps that is why is was better than the other reviewers. Eitter way, it’s a Friendly’s. ‘Nuff said.

Too bad restaurants don’t realize that when my partner and I enter they are going to get double Unilocaled. An excellent dining experience garners you two good reviews and a negative experience puts you in a rating’s hole(especially for a place that has never been rated before). We don’t always agree but I don’t think we have ever been more than one star apart on reviews. We were trying to find a late lunch while strolling North Myrtle Beach when I saw a Friendlys. I had never been to one before even though they are a chain. When we walked in I thought I was on the set of HBO’s defunct Carnivale. There was a man sitting at a nearby table with an oxygen tank, a five year old boy sucking on a pacifier with his dad screaming at him, and a staff of people who looked utterly confused and frazzled. I contemplated leaving after having to wait for an eternity at the hostess booth but I looked at my partner and said, «No we are staying just so I can Unilocal this place». It is not often you get the experience of being on the Jerry Springer show without making the trek to Connecticut. We were eventually seated and I was so tired from a long week at work that I couldn’t muster the energy to be snarky to our pitiful waitress. She brought my drink to the table and I immediately revered it like a sack of diamonds because I knew I may never see a refill based on our experience so far. We waited 34 minutes for our food(yes I actually timed them). I was expecting a nightmare but was satisfied. The waffle fries were hot and tasty. I had the cheeseburger and chicken sliders which were just ok. I would eat at another Friendlys based on what we ate. We quickly paid and left. I checked my wallet once we left to make sure no one had robbed me. The service at this location was deplorable. The management here needs to be placed in front of a firing squad. The staff always seemed confused and hurried. 3 stars for the food and 1 star for the service. Won’t be back to this particular Friendlys

I’m going to breakdown my rating up front: Food: 3.5 Service: 1.5 Normally I don’t review«big» chains, unless my experience is out of the norm. Unfortunately this applies to this particular Friendly’s, and not in its favor. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way for Friendly’s in general, but the sig-o had never been to one and I hadn’t been to one in years so Friendly’s it was. Honestly, everything after the point of our server coming to our table was a solid 3, but everything before that was abysmal. We walked in towards the end of Saturday lunch, went right up to the host podium and… waited. The person I assumed was functioning as the hostess walked up and… nothing. She just looked at her seating chart, erased some entries then walked off. My mouth would have been agape at this point but now I just wanted to see how long it would take for someone to actually acknowledge we were there. She seated a prior group, returned to the podium, then walked off. Again. There were several servers who passed by the podium during this time, but… nothing. No «Hello», no «Welcome», no «We’ll be right with you». Another group was waiting behind us by now, but still — nada. I thought this place was«Friendly’s», not«Tepid’s» or «Lukewarm’s». Granted, they were busy, but still… just a «Hey» would do. Finally, a passing server said hello and that they’d be right with us. Several minutes later we were brought to a table, but it was dirty. We(patiently) waited for the server to wipe the table down. Luckily I looked down at my seat before sitting down, because it too was dirty and wet to boot. I just took care of that myself with the napkins from the table dispenser, not wanting to figure out who I needed to flag down to get it cleaned up. At this point I was hungry and irritated, but unfortunately committed. Luckily the food was actually pretty good. My order of a chicken bruschetta supermelt and waffle fries was very good — hot, juicy, tasty and actually delicious. Our server was a bit cold initially, but did an OK job, and genuinely wished us a nice day. So, I’ll chalk up the seating debacle to just poor organization that day, but my overall rating is still just a «meh». They do have take out though; I’d definitely go that route(and get a sundae to go) instead were I to go back.
