I’ve never been treated so unprofessionally before.
I went inside the salon once to talk about pricing for possibly coloring my brunette hair into a subtle rose gold/​pink color. I met a man in the front who went to the back to talk to someone about me. He brought me over to her and she was getting her nails done but she still gave me some of her time. She introduced herself as Jen. Since she was busy and I didn’t have signal in the area so I couldn’t show her the picture of what I wanted, we exchanged phone numbers and decided I’d send her the pictures later on.
I sent her the picture the next day and she gave me pricing like I requested! I was very, very excited. She asked me to follow them on Instagram after the conversation which gave me an opportunity to see some of the work they’ve done! Looked through the website too and saw that Jen was actually the owner and it made me so much more hopeful that the process was going to be simple and easy.
A couple days later though, I started thinking about how damaged my hair was probably going to be because I was trying to go so light. I was… terrified… but I’ve been contemplating on this procedure for more than a year now. I knew some people who had done a similar procedure and they all had to get their hair to WHITE. I thought I could trust my almost-​hair-​stylist, but I was completely wrong.
Out of a little fear and nervousness, I decided to ask Jen a couple of my questions and to see what she was planning on doing to my hair. When I mentioned, «Are you going to have to make my hair white first?» She said, «No that would heavily damage your hair! We just have to make it blonde.»
With that response, I felt a lot better that I wouldn’t have to go so white, so I asked her, «Oh okay! Since I WANT a blondish-​pink color, a blonde undertone would be good right? And then you’re going to dye it pink?»
And this is where it all turned bad. Her exact response after this was, «I don’t think this is going to work out. I have been doing hair for 15 years, people trust me to do their hair. I can’t have a client that wants to do it themselves and control everything.»
Then I explained to her how I was feeling and that I was just nervous and I was sorry for being difficult. THEN she replies, «Sorry, I’m not interested in having you as my client.»
SERIOUSLY? THIS IS MY HAIR. I should know what the hell you’re doing to it. What? You expect me to sit back and just say, «Here, I want my hair to look like this picture» and then boom. Especially when it requires HEAVY bleaching?
I understand that she knows more than me, she’s supposed to be a professional, WHICH IS WHY I ASKED HER MY QUESTIONS IN THE FIRST PLACE. Never even went in for ONE service and I was treated with this egotistical response just because she thought I was trying to step over her work. Thanks but no thanks.
I’d definitely recommend this place to people who don’t want to know anything about what’s happening to their hair, and also, don’t ask questions unless you want her to just straight up tell you, «No, not gonna deal with you because you’re difficult.» I mean, regardless of 5+, 10+, or even 50+ experience, keeping customers informed is just courtesy and nice.

Ok, so. I had been going to the same stylist for over 10 years and when he became I’ll and stopped doing hair I was so nervous to go out of my comfort zone and put my trust in a brand new stylist. But, after reading the reviews here, I called and made an appt with Ashley. She is amazing! She took me from an icky dish water dark blonde to an amazing all over bright platinum highlight. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything she was doing. Not to mention she is super sweet and hilarious! We laughed and talked the whole time. I’ve definitely found MY new stylist. Thank Ashley!

This is my first visit to Mode the location is nice and in a convenient spot. I came because Euphoria on Decatur closed and my stylist, Ashley, is now located at Mode. Ashley is WONDERFUL!!! I would follow her anywhere she is so great at color. I get black with blue tint for my hair and she knows exactly what I like and helps me with little tricks to keep my color looking vibrant longer! At my last visit she noticed that my hair was thinning and asked me what I was doing different, she assisted me in knowing what to do to fix my hair and now my hair is MUCH BETTER! I will never go to anyone else! If you are looking for an awesome stylist call Ashley at Mode you will not be disappointed trust me!

We saw Celeste today who is an asset in the hair industry. Some people were just meant to work magic on hair and she certainly did! Awesome job, friendly people and affordable prices! Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I’m new to the area and bought a Groupon to try the salon out. My appointment was with Celeste. She is personable, and did a great job. I gave her a general idea of what I wanted, and she was able to see it through to give me a great color and cut. I love my new hair and will be back! I’m glad Groupon brought me in.

I’ve been going to Jennifer for a few years now and I couldn’t ask for a better stylist! When I first went in my hair colored was a mess — blond was almost green! She fixed the color and gave me an awesome style Great salon and stylist for all your needs.

Jen (the Owner) is great we have been following her for years even before she owned her own salon. She does a great job and she is a master colorer.
although if you tell her to scalp your husband (without his knowledge) she will. Thanks Jen for all the great years of service. YOUR AWESOME

This place is great! I followed Jen (the owner) from her old salon. Their prices are fair and she is great. I even come in to get a weekly wash and blowout on top of my regular services. You won’t be disappointed, she is fantastic! I refer her to everyone in my area that asks.
