Ugh. So unfortunate. We have hired these guys twice to do work on our house. The first time was to pump our septic. When they got there they realized they didn’t have enough hose to get to the tank. We had loads of guests coming to the house so I started to panic. However, Josh, the owner called around and got another company with a larger truck and more hose to come to the house to pump the tank.
The second time, we had a clog backing up the drains in our house. They sent a nice young man who, after a long time trying to figure out where the clog was and where he could snake, snaked the drain and quickly got everything cleared up. While there, he looked at our septic tank and thought something might be wrong with it and called Josh to try and figure out what was going on. Ultimately, he couldn’t figure it out and offered to send out someone else (at my expense, of course) to determine what is going on with the tank. Clearly, he was green and not very knowledgeable about plumbing, but I got charged for 2 hours of plumber’s labor at $ 90 per hour for him to try to figure everything out. Based on our first experience, I let it slide.
I just called them again to try to get someone out to figure out the septic tank. The scheduler advised me that, though I paid for a plumber’s time for 2 hours and got a «drain cleaner» who was unable to diagnose the problem, I would now have to pay for an actual experienced plumber to come out to give me a bid to deal with the septic. Another $ 90, minimum, just for the bid. Though I had already paid them for 2 hours of someone’s time trying to diagnose the problem during time 2, they wanted me to pay again. Sadly, the scheduler said that it was my fault that she sent a drain cleaner rather than a plumber on time 2 (and charged me the plumber’s rate, no less!) because I didn’t tell her during time 2 that there might be something wrong with my septic leach field. How am I to know that something might be wrong with my leach field? Isn’t that what I paid them, the plumbers (oh wait, drain cleaners?) for?
It’s too bad – I really respected their approach from time 1. Clearly, Josh has the right attitude for running the company and taking care of customers. Sadly, his scheduler doesn’t operate the same way.

My wife detected a sewer gas odor in our house so we figured the septic tank needed pumping. We called and got a same day appointment. We were told the price would be a little under $ 400 give or take depending on the size. We agreed. The septic tank guy removed the lid, got out a long handled hoe and determined that there was little sediment at the bottom and the septic tank did not need cleaning. He then asked to see our toilets and told us that the ground floor toilet’s floor seal was leaking and that was why we were smelling sewer gas.
They did not charge us for the visit. We made an appointment the next business day to have the toilet reset and to look into a possible leak.
It turned out we had an expensive leak of about 700 gallons a day as we calculated from the water meter. Josh the owner came over, turned the water off, and cut five successive manifolds (vertical copper pipes near branch points) after cutting back some drywall in the laundry room. On the fifth cut he found what he was looking for: no standing water in the bottom half of the manifold. He capped the upper intake portion of this manifold, repaired the other four, turned the water on and we could see the problem was the hot water supply to downstairs bathroom. It sounds like a simple diagnostic but it took him two hours of hard work as the manifolds were all jammed together so it was a chore to cut and repair each one. His crew came the next day and replaced the in-​slab line with a thru the wall and ceiling line. (We discussed cutting up the slab but Josh recommended against that.) We were very pleased with the result and cost.
I feel this is a small business that with an owner committed to treating his customers well. I also fully appreciate the fact that sometimes it can take a while just to diagnose the problem as evidenced by the two hours it took a very skilled plumber just to figure out where the leak was.

I have used JJ’s for several years. Whenever I call them they get someone to my home or my business quickly. They treat me like family. They are very reasonably priced and straight forward. All of their employees that I have meet have treated me very well. Although I am especially fond of Josh and Jackie. I can’t say enough on how well I am treated by JJ’s. I can’t recommend JJ’s enough. We had them scheduled to come out for a septic pumping and inspection. The weekend before they were supposed to come we had a pipe burst that caused a substantial amount of damage to a room in our house. I called Laura at JJ’s and asked them to send someone out and Josh was out there that day. He fixed the issues temporarily then made an appointment to come back out to re-​pipe the room. The septic crew came out as well and they were extremely professional and a real pleasure to deal with. They pumped the septic and were open and honest about the condition and quality of our tank. I was expecting a typical Vegas scam – come out, inspect it, and say it needs replacement to the tune of 15−20k. Not with JJ’s, it was full disclosure throughout the process.
I like this company so much that we’re going to use them as our go-​to plumbers now. They are honest, reasonably priced, and went above and beyond to help me in a bad situation. Outstanding to work with, I highly, highly recommend!
