Love this place. Consistently great service, tried sushi here for the first time since friends of mine told me how great it was… I loved it and have been back for more. The entrees, apps, and desserts have all been incredible as well as reasonably priced. The interior is updated and has a nice ambience. Definitely a spot to check out.

Our second time there. We each ordered fish and chips — French fries were luke warm and fish portions were a bit small. Service OK

What can I say. Place is OK. Its is also a little pricey. If it was a bargain it would be fine, but for the money it should be better. The two restaurants in one building layout is unusual. Seems to be doing pretty well anyway. I suppose the location is good. If I happened to be in the area I might go again.

First and last time to Wicked Fish. It’s a very nice, clean and cozy space, nice décor, great lighting and friendly service — BUT — I can’t remember the last time I had such a horrible, tasteless meal. The bread they serve is brick hard, to the point it hurts to chew. When the meals came out I was very impressed with the size and presentation. Very under-seasoned, strange tasting food. which was so disappointing because it looked so good! The shrimp in the scampi were huge, but had obviously just been thrown on the grille, not cooked in the scampi sauce, because the only flavor on them was smoke. My huge bowl of mussels was served with more of the pallet destroying bread and while the size and texture of the shellfish was perfect, the tomato based broth was just bad… even adding salt couldn’t improve it. I am a fairly good cook… I make most meals at home and work in a chef owned restaurant a few nights a week. So when I do get the chance to go out, I don’t flinch at high prices and small portions, as long as it’s delicious food… honestly, I’d rather have bad service than go home thinking I’ve just paid good money to go home hungry and that it would have been worth it to make something myself. I was so turned off by both meals that I canceled a dinner I had ordered to take home to my husband — wouldn’t even risk paying another $ 25 based solely on our food. Also, I did expect to see more seafood choices on the menu and they were not serving sushi the night we went.

Service was great. Food was just ‘eh but priced as if it were much better. I’d expected more traditional seafood –while I love sushi ½ of this meant was devoted to it with very little seafood. My scallops were not hot when served and were as bland as any food I’ve ever eaten. I won’t go back.

I want this restaurant to do well as I live nearby and there are few restaurants in this part of North Kingstown. However, after giving Wicked Fish 8 – 10 tries, I simply cannot recommend it for anything more than a local watering hole. The food quality and the service is wildly inconsistent. While I’ve left semi-satisfied with an «OK» experience on several occasions, more times than not I leave dissatisfied; I won’t be back anytime soon. For example, the size and the ingredients of the Greek salad is different on each visit and, most recently, the grilled chicken(added to the salad) was dry and tasteless. My child’s fish and chips was heavily breaded, the fries soggy and the cold slaw was warm. My other child’s chicken wings were undercooked(I requested extra-crispy) and served with the incorrect sauce. On this particular visit, the server was too casual and seemed to guess when questioned about menu items. There are some bright spots. The sushi rolls have been consistent, the drinks are well made and the beer is fresh. Some recommendations: 1. Be consistent. Get feedback from your customers on what they like and what they don’t like. Adjust accordingly and deliver consistently! 2. Have a kitchen manager check every plate before it hits the table. Don’t serve the food if you would not eat if yourself. 3. Train the staff. Servers should be able to explain every menu item. No guesswork. This restaurant is in a good location that could do well but unless they improve food quality and service I’m afraid it will devolve into just another waterhole with bad bar food. Good luck.

I had high hopes after reading such great reviews. But, I can’t give 5 stars. There were five of us for a birthday dinner. Our salads to start were great. My oysters were very clean and tasted great. The sushi was also very fresh and delicious. My aunt ordered fish and chips and was given a HUGE portion, which she ended up sharing with another. I ordered the swordfish special. Which was $ 26. And not worth it! The portion of swordfish was smaller than ONE of the fried fish from my aunt’s plate. I could not believe it! The mango salsa on top was awesome and the fish was cooked perfectly but it was soooo small!!! I also did not receive the roasted potatoes that come with the dish… We did get dessert and that was divine! Our waitress was very friendly and seemed very attentive but forgot, on several occasions, to bring refills, the roasted potatoes, etc. Little things we needed, she forgot about until we asked again. Overall, this place is nice. They need to rethink their portions and I think they will be successful. I will most likely return.

The only reason for the one star is for the wine. The food was absolutely horrible as was the ambiance. Would never go back.

It was decent… Why are they putting curry in my shepherds pie? Don’t get too cute. Stew was excellent, bartender was excellent, but I wasn’t fond of the pie and it is an irish pub, and I wish the sushi was better, but it was decent too.

Wicked good food Wicked Fish is a new place, only opened in the spring of this year. It shares a building with an Irish pubby sort of place called Kitty Murtagh’s. They’re both owned by the same guy so you can kind of think of them as the same place. Rhode Island has zillions of seafood restaurants, some very casual some a bit more fancy, but almost all of them pretty dang good. So for a new seafood restaurant to open up it better be really good or it’s not going to be around for very long. Fortunately Wicked Fish is indeed wicked good. It’s a bit dark inside but it does have a nice cozy feel to it, including lots of photos of guys holding dead fish. The booths are comfy and the service is exceptional with the servers making sure every need was satisfied. But the real purpose of Wicked Fish was the food and the food was incredible. The chicken cacciatore, fish & chips, mussels, clam chowder, braised beef short rims and several other things that I forgot, were are superb. Wicked Fish has a whole lot of competition in the area but if it keeps on dishing out food like we had it should do just fine and be around for a long, long time.

Came on a Sunday evening, short ribs won’t even stay on the fork they are so tender and the sauce the ravoili is in is amazing. $ 1 Oysters were great too!

Brought my children to Kitty’s, the pub side of this restaurant and had a really good meal. Portabella sandwich for me, fish and chips for one kid, chicken fingers for the other. Both kids loved their food as did I. Great fries and very welcoming to folks with children. Definitely check it out.

Worst takeout ever, I can’t say I would ever try it again. I’ve heard good things and decided to grab a takeout. Grilled halibut was so dry it wasn’t even edible. Yuk.

I went here with a group from work. Wicked Fish side was closed for lunch so we went to the Irish Pub. The décor was nice but the food was not very good. My fish tacos were fried fish with very little fish and a ton of batter. Others had salads some with tuna all very small portions for the price. Overall the group was very underwhelmed.

I would have to say that the negative reviews are either attributed to the people who went right when it opened or who don’t like good food. My fiancée and I went there a month after opening and for how busy it was, we were treated very well by a very attentive staff. THEFOODWASAMAZING! It was like going to Providence for a really nice meal without having to go to Providence. The food tasted fresh and was very nicely prepared. My fiancée had the short ribs and they were so tender you didn’t need teeth. I had the sea scallops and they were so good that my fiancée(who doesn’t like scallops) said they were really good. One of our new favorite spots!

The restaurant inside is very nice. I like the oversized booths which gives you a lot of space. The bar area is nice as well. Service was good and the sushi was great! Prices were higher than I expected. Unfortunately, the main course I had was the braised short ribs which I felt were very bland and of course a great amount of mashed potatoes(but not a lot of flavor). I will say the ribs were very tender and there were no bones which was nice but there wasn’t much flavor. My boyfriend had the steak and he felt there wasn’t much of a flavor in his meal either. My boyfriend’s father had the scallops which he enjoyed! Overall, decent restaurant and I enjoyed the décor and service! The only complaint was there wasn’t much flavor in the food but they were cooked well with a nice plate presentation!

Not sure about all the negative reviews, many of which have one or two reviews to their name(newly created accounts?). My wife and I had dinner over the weekend and we found it delightful and the food was quite good. It’s a busy place that appears to be popular but it had a good vibe and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had sushi which was fresh and tasted very good. I can’t speak to other Unilocal reviews but we had a good experience and will return. Finally some decent food in South County!

Like another review, I travel extensively for work and I eat at numerous restaurants on a weekly basis… mostly upscale, some casual. I have to say, I have been very impressed with Wicked Fish and Kitty Murtaghs… I’ve been there four times since it opened and each time gets better and better. I understood why the food took a little longer than normal on my first visit… that happens with a brand new restaurant as they’re working out the kinks, but they’ve gotten better each week. I’ve had the short ribs, beef stew, shepherds pie and fish’n chips, and all were excellent! I usually sit at the bar and each bartender has been very attentive and pleasant, whether I’m there for lunch or dinner. I would definitely recommend for lunch, dinner, or drinks as the food, atmosphere and staff are all great!

This restaurant is extremely disappointing. This area lacks a good restaurant. Anything that isn’t a greasy pizza place is a half hour away so a lot of locals had high hopes for the Wicked Fish. This restaurant was obviously unprepared for a launch but did it anyway and now they are suffering the consequences. Front of house staff is under trained, lack of a waiting area, and the wait for food is ridiculous. Over an hour wait with wait staff walking back and forth clearly pretending to look busy. The food is decent but overpriced and the wait might not be worth it if you could drive further and still get good food sooner. With staff dropping like flies, the owners should seriously consider rehiring, retraining, and giving a proper open another shot… And hope all the locals who have filled their restaurant in past weekends come back.

I’m fortunate in that I travel extensively in my current job and have had the benefit of eating in many fine restaurants around the world. With the opening of Wicked Fish, my wife and I were excited to have a quality seafood place minutes away. After a few phone calls where the voicemail indicated that they were not open yet, I stopped by and made a reservation for 2 for last Sunday evening. Their Facebook page at the time said«opening soon» yet they were clearly open. Upon arrival, we waited for almost 5 minutes while the hostess was on the phone just to be seated. Ok, off to an «iffy» start. We were a party of 2 and yet were seated at a 6 top in the corner. While I do enjoy a large table and did feel special, it was real estate that could have been used for a larger party. Our server, Alexis was warm, welcoming and attentive. The only issue was that we were without menus for about 5 minutes, as they were being used by other tables. No worries. It happens. We were promptly offered water service and a choice of drinks. Alexis let us know of one special(a steak) and the fact that several of the menu choices were not available. We selected the Tuna tartare as a starter. Excellent tuna — my only concern was that is was served with Sriracha on the side, which overpowered the mild tuna. For entrees, I had the halibut with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and my wife had the«Kobe» burger. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were excellent. The burger was also excellent –perfectly medium rare and the onion compote was a great compliment. Finally, we had the Chocolate Mousse for dessert — also very well done. Overall, the food was very good-excellent. The service was fair-good and they are clearly working out the kinks in the process. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes — with a caveat: Give them more time to get the flow of service down Would we go back? Yes. We will return for dinner in late April/early May. Final thoughts: We’d like to see more true«fish» dishes on the menu. What about a twist on calamari? It is the state appetizer ;) Give the team some more time and try Wicked Fish for upscale casual fare in the middle of the state …
