The Hair Lounge

I’m Sheila, Jeri’s new manicurist. I love working with her and everyone else in the salon. It’s such a great atmosphere there and all the clients that come in there are really really nice. Thank you Jeri for giving me the opportunity to work for you and with everyone else.

I have been going to Jeri for 3 ½ years. I was tired of the ultra hip «you’ll take the hair cut I give you and like it» vibe of Rudy’s. I wanted a true salon, like the one I grew up with as a child. You know, the place that knows your hair better than you do. The place run by people that are glad to see you, no matter if you are in for a simple trim or a complete change.
Also, I have long hair and I love my long hair. It was very hard to find someone that was really good with long, easily tangled hair. Also, I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to someone else brushing out my hair. Jeri knows how to handle my messy hair from a basic trim to highlights and a full cut. She isn’t pushy on styling or product and really listens to her customers.
Furthermore my husband loves this place. He has coarse hair that starts to get a mind of its own at a certain point in growing out. Jeri handles this with ease and knows exactly what my husband wants his hair to do when it grows out.
Also, Jeri is very flexible on meeting customers on their schedule. I’ve had many cuts at night after work. She is also compassionate to those who think they can dye their own hair only to get in way over their heads. I once walked in for a trim to see Jeri saving this poor college student from a late night dye job gone horribly wrong. The poor girl’s hair was a shade of orange that would put an Oompa Loompa to shame. And yet, by the time Jeri was finished working her magic, the girl’s hair was back to better than normal.
I’ve not had cuts by the other stylists, but everyone is always so friendly when we come in. The place is filled with light, it is clean and comfortable.

I’ve been with Sheila for seven years, and have followed her to the Hair Lounge. My hair was in poor condition when I met her, and she has worked wonders to repair it and make it awesome! When leaving the salon after one appointment, a woman in the street yelled out asking, «Who does your hair?!» Sheila knows exactly what to do with my thick, full head of hair. She’s great with color and cut based on your hair type, face shape, and lifestyle. She’s not just a fabulous hairdresser, she’s an awesome friend. Every girl should have a Sheila!

I’ve been going to Jeri for over 4 years and she has managed to give me the only haircut that my picky Aunt Sherri approves of! She is a complete expert at color and cut and the salon has a very comfortable friendly vibe with great music, a tv and tons of magazines to keep you busy. Jeri must have a lot of repeat clients because everyone that walks in the door seems like an old family friend. I also visit Marlene there who does an excellent Brazilian Blowout and great regular blow outs for me. I love that Jeri was a great stylist for me with curls and an even better one with my straight hair. I hope The Hair Lounge is here for good because I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Jeri has been doing my hair for almost 10 years now. She is a GREAT person and very TALENTED at color. I get compliments alllllll the time on my color, literally probably 4 times a week. She’s AMAZING! I love too that she’s very flexible with appointments because I am not a good «planner» when it comes to getting my hair done (lol). She’s easy going, she listens to what you want, the cost of very reasonable, and she really cares that you like your hair.

The Hair Lounge is a boutique hair salon run by Jeri. She has only been the proprietor for a few years now, but she has been my hairdresser for more than 20 years. That alone should say something about her work. The thing I like most about what she does is the time she spends with her clients. She never rushes us and always listens to any and al of our hair concerns. There are a number of other highly-​skilled hair experts there as well, including Sheila (who is great with African American hair) and Paul. If you are looking for the popular Brazillian Blow-​Out, you have to ask for Marlene, it is her specialty. She did it on one of my friends’ and it looks great! She also styles hair amazingly.
It’s a small salon, but you are treated right.

Sheila is (without a doubt) the BEST hairstylist I have ever been to! Trust me I have searched far and wide, in many different cities and states and no one comes close.
I don’t exactly have the easiest hair to work with (I am mixed so my hair is a giant pouf of wavy curliness and I like to wear it straight, which presents a difficult challenge for most stylists who don’t have a clue how to make that happen!)…Ive been to some of the best salons in Beverly Hills (thinking they would def know what they were doing considering how much cash I was throwing down) and the second I walk out of the door my hair gets poufy again and starts curling up… not to mention the cuts were always sub-​par.
Everyone I see coming out of her chair looks amazing… its like shes a hair architect… doesn’t matter what type of hair you have, what ethnicity you are etc… somehow she is able to find the perfect look for everyone and can make even the lamest hair look awesome.
She ALWAYS takes it to the next level and I feel like my vision is always realized in her cuts… actually they usually turn out better than what I imagined… you cant beat that!
Shes super nice, def in the know (so she’s far from boring to talk to!), uses the most cutting edge products, and she knows hair… period! I will not see anyone else. (A few months ago my hair started thinning and she even gave me tips that completely saved my hair and helped it all grow back!!! THANK GOD!!! She knows her stuff!)
You know you’ve found a true gem when you completely trust them and can actually relax during your appointment. I’m a SUPER picky person and I always leave looking and feeling fabulous!
I cannot praise her work enough… if you want great hair, you have to see her. Sheila is by far the best hairstylist/​colorist in the Los Angeles area!
