AVOIDAVOIDAVOID. Horrible delivery experience here at Royal Curry Café. I am mystified at all the good reviews here, and I’m not sure why they exist. Ordered from Eat24 for lunch. Estimated wait time — an hour, standard. Took about an hour and a half before the delivery person showed up. Bonus frustration — he spilled half the mango lassi we ordered all over our walkway, and didn’t offer to comp this, clean up after himself or offer any other reparation for this. But all of this would have been tolerable if the food was good — and it was SORELYNOT. We ordered: Tikka masala, saag paneer, mango lassi, side of raita — everything was oddly too sweet. When I’m ordering a lunch I don’t expect to be eating dessert while I’m trying to enjoy my savory food. Tikka masala tasted like sweetened tomato paste with chunks of dry chicken in it(amazing — how could they get chicken so dry when it’s sitting in curry? A feat of science!), saag was a sweet weird paste, even the raita was sweet. WHY. Also the rice was sushi rice — not basmati rice, which is what I usually expect with Indian food. What in the wild world of dawgs is this madness? Do yourself a favor and save your stomach space for somewhere, ANYWHERE else. Disappointment all around.

The food was good, but the ambiance was just okay. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, basmati rice and the naan.

I don’t understand the high reviews for this place. This is the worst Indian experience we’ve ever had. We ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and a Chicken Biryani with a side of garlic naan. The chicken Tikka Masala was so sweet that I had to stop eating midway, the Biryani was flavorless and the chicken was super dry, and the naan was disappointingly small and dry. Never coming back.

My favorite Indian restaurant in the area. The chicken vindaloo, vegetable soup and garlic naan were all delicious! The people are also super friendly at the restaurant. Will definitely be back.

I wanted a quick bite before a meeting. I figured 45 minutes was more than sufficient to get inside, order, eat and leave this hot, stuffy little restaurant. I was the only one in the restaurant; the clock was ticking. Again, no other customers came through the door while I was there. I counted three people working there. The food took close to ½ hour to get to me. I couldn’t even sit and enjoy it, rather had to ask for a take-away box. I left hungry and grumpy having to put the food in my car’s trunk for later consumption. I’m sure the food is great, though. Your mileage may vary. UPDATE: After reading the owner’s remarks, I will re-submit a review that is somewhat understandable regarding the preparation of the food, and the time it takes. I wasn’t familiar with the amount of time necessary to prepare the chicken properly, and therefore, should have allotted more time for myself. I was just not prepared and not knowledgeable in this regard. I will say that the food was excellent.

My favorite Indian delivery… ever. This is homemade, healthy, wildly flavorful Indian cuisine. Not a single little congealed grease glob on my refrigerated leftovers the next day. I’ve enjoyed it so much I bought an Indian cookbook, but I will definitely keep supporting Royal Curry!

Spicy yes. Tandoori flavor, no! Grew up eating Indian food, had high expectations from the pics and comments? Maybe there are other dishes that are good but Tandoori is just not their thing. Did not finish my food, so I gave away money for lunch today.

One of the most– if not the most– authentic Indian restaurant in this part of town. I went today for the first time and had the Eggplant Bharta with Garlic Naan. Both were excellent, along with the service-definitely will be back!

I’ve been eating Indian food since I was a little one, from homemade to MANY restaurants. Today we discovered Royal Curry Café. It’s AUTHENTIC. Mom and what seems like the entire family are working hard in the kitchen, and it smells and tastes as good as it gets. FLAVORFUL is the best word to describe it. If you love real Indian food, this is the place!

This small humble place is my favorite restaurant in the LA area. Everything is authentic and delicious, especially the Tikki Masala. The family who runs it is always warm, charming and welcoming.

The Indian food is so delicious at Royal Curry Café. We live around the corner so when I’m walking my dog and get a whiff of the delicious aroma of spices, I have to have it– which is often. Chicken Tikki Masala is my favorite. Their garlic naan is so good too! There isn’t one thing I’ve had so far that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. The best part about this restaurant is the lovely family that owns it. They are so gracious toward their guests. You can tell they really take pride in their restaurant. And they should! It’s wonderful!

I’ve only been here once so far, but I intend to go back. I’m not an expert on Indian food, but I’ve eaten my fair share of it across the US, the UK, and even in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. Royal Curry Café is among the best I’ve had. I didn’t expect much when I saw the outside because it’s just a little storefront with only a handful of tables, but I’ve always heard that those are the best places to find good Indian food. We were greeted warmly and given a table immediately. I ordered the Daal, Chicken Tikka Masala, a lamb coconut curry, basmati rice, plain and garlic naan, and a bowl of raita. The tikka masala was just the right blend sweet and savory. The Daal was spicier than I expected, but paired well with the raita. The coconut curry was fantastic — I’m not a fan of coconut in general, but it was great. Finished the meal with a cup of Masala chai. Perfect end to it. For all of that I spent about $ 65 after tip, and it was enough food for me and my wife(which is actually probably enough for 3 – 4 people, but I tend to overeat when it comes to Indian food) I will definitely be returning.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in. There are five or six small tables, and the place is pretty snug and frill-free. The front window is covered in stickers boasting their popularity, and it soon became clear why. The service was quick and friendly. The food was so delicious, and there are tons of options. The prices were really reasonable. Everything about dinner was wonderful. I will definitely be coming back for seconds — and thirds.

Came here on a whim a few months ago(I live in San Francisco). Was great then so when our group event was finished I took the plunge to recommend the 7 of us come here. The owner is one of the best examples of great customer service. Very polite and accommodating(as well as remember who we were) So surprised this place is not busy given how great it is. Highly recommended for great price Indian food!

What a great place! The food here is exceptional, and the customer service is amazing. There is a very sweet family running this business and you can tell. My only bone to pick is that it’s a little pricy, but hey, ingredients are expensive. I WILLBEBACK! Food is SPICY and FLAVORFUL

Just went there for the first time. The restaurant is small. Very small. But the food is delicious. I ordered standard stuff. Chicken Tikka Masala, Peshwari Naan, and veggie samosas. I figured if have a baseline by which to measure against other places. Most of the food was wonderful. The samosas being the only portion that left me wanting. The Naan, in particular was brilliant and had what seemed like an infusion of honey that complimented the perfectly made Tikka Masala(theirs had a tangy flavor). I couldn’t be happier with the meal. Service was quick and the bustle of the place, due to its small size was fun.

I just recently tried this place out and I have to say omg by far the best Indian food I have every tried. Their meat tastes so clean and tasty no other Indian place is comparable. You can’t go wrong with the chicken Korma, chicken Tika massala and most importantly the sag paneer is so amazing. If you are looking for great Indian food don’t bother going anywhere else come here first, it’s worth the drive !!

If you want to try something new and enjoy it. this is the place! Came here for the first time yesterday afternoon and I had a good experience. Place is clean and the staff & service are great & accomodating! Food: We ordered Onion Pakora(Onion fritters gently spiced, round shaped and-fried), Shrimp Korma(Creamy shrimp curry ground almond, cream with ginger and garlic), Indian Spicy Lamb Biryani(Lamb fried rice cooked with peas, raisins and cashew nuts) and Garlic Basil Naan. All of these tasted delicious and very flavorful! Definitely coming back here.

I always get the Chicken Masala from every place. It is pretty good here and I have ordered delivery in the past. Sometimes it is fast sometimes it take over an hour. Customer service isn’t a very good experience. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place over other Indian cuisine. Honestly, most likely won’t be going back.

Not a fan of Indian food but maybe I am… now. I stopped by for the first time today for lunch. I heard how great their Chicken soup was so I decided to give it a try. GLAD I DID! Lot’s of chunks of chicken, hefty portion too. Then I tried their chicken curry. Love it! Staff are friendly. Overall: A–

I am very very pleased and happy we found this restaurant. 3 of us busy bday people finally getting together to celebrate and catch up with one July, one August and one September bday, we had a massage at JUN up the street(very very good) and all craved Indian . Thanks to Unilocal we found this place. It’s a very very small space inside I only hope that they have enough business to stay open :-) Food was amazing . Fish curry, tandoori shrimp and chicken masala, all very good, raita amazing and the garlic basil cilantro naan? Wow . Will come back and bring other friends !

I came here a little while back with a few friends and we weren’t sure what to expect at this place. But once we entered our expectations were exceeded by the friendliest greeters and People who work there. If I am not mistaken, it is a family owned business. They are some of the nicest people we have run into and have the best customer service. We ordered the mix tandoori, Chicken tikka Masala, and veg Somosas. Now, my friends and I are kind of picky about the kind of Indian food we eat. But this place definitely delivered on their food. I love coming to a place where I feel like they treat you like you’re the most important. I even mistakenly ordered a dish that had seafood in it(I do not eat seafood) and I mentioned that to my friends. One of the employees overheard the conversation and immediately came to our table and let us know they can prepare another dish for us. I was so surprised that they took the time to correct a mistake that I had made, not even their mistake!!! If you’re looking for great Indian food with the best feel inside I definitely suggest Royal Curry Café. You will definitely not be disappointed!

I ordered via Eat24. Usually, I like to try a place a few more times before reviewing it, but I can already say, «Yay! I’m a fan.» The delivery came a lot faster than expected! The food’s temperature was as if it had come straight out of the kitchen and I believe they hooked me up with a free rice! I ordered: — Lamb Sag(mild) — Aloo Gobi(medium) — Mango Lassi It was my mistake for ordering the Aloo Gobi medium as it was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I thought everything was tasty and the Mango Lassi was pretty awesome. I’ll definitely be ordering from Royal Curry again :)

Ordered a delivery from this restaurant. It took about 1 hr and 40min for the food to arrive. I called the restaurant after the first hour to check on the status and they said the delivery was already on the way and should be there in 10 min. Called twice after that and had to wait another 40 min or so for the food to finally arrive.(I had ordered through eat24 app and I was quoted a guaranteed delivery within 45 – 60 min). When I asked the delivery person why it was so late, his reply was«There were orders before yours and we deliver them based on time of order not importance». I was stumped. All I was expected was a simple apology! Just writing this review pisses me off again. Will NEVER order or dine in at this location. If you don’t care about your customers, I don’t give a shit how good or bad your food tastes.

This was hands down THE best Indian food my boyfriend and I have ever had! The food and service is AMAZING! We ordered the butter chicken, lamb korma and saag paneer and after we both took our first bite of the butter chicken we looked at each other speechless because of how tasty everything was. The food was a little sweeter than most Indian restaurants we have tried but I actually loved that. The staff was so incredibly friendly, we came close to closing time(yes, we are those annoying people lol) and they kept telling us not to feel rushed and to enjoy our food. We will definitely be coming back!

Don’t let the hole in the wall ambience deter you — this place is legit! Accidentally stumbled upon this place last month and everything was delicious. Went again this evening and I will definitely be back. My friend and I shared the garlic naan, tomato and cucumber salad, veggie samosas, Aloo Gobi, chicken tikka masala and topped it all off with a side of mango chutney. It was all so mouthwatering good! The chicken tikka masala was on the sweet side — which is also the case with their curry. I wasn’t too into it at first, but I can definitely overlook it, especially when you have some heat in there. Also had a great experience with their tandoori hot wings — it’s amazing how flavorful, moist and juicy they are. The dining room is pretty minuscule(or rather, cozy) but it’s always popping, so you know it’s good! The staff is extremely attentive and very hospitable. I’ve dined in both times but their takeout seems to be quite popular. I cannot say enough great things about this place!

I really wanted to love this place because it is so close to my house, but I was really disappointed. Everything I ordered tasted way too sweet. I always order the same dishes from Indian restaurants: Malai Kofta and Saag Paneer, and they just weren’t anything like I’ve had at other restaurants. If you have a sweet tooth and like all your food on the sweeter side then give it a try. Even the raita was sweet… When I’ve had raita before it was always fresh and tangy, but not here. :[ Delivery was fast at 1pm on a weekday and the delivery man was nice.

Although the restaurant is tiny and nothing special, the food is simply spectacular and the family that runs the place is wonderfully friendly and warm. I’ve had Indian food all over LA and across the world, and this compares to some of the best I’ve eaten. We’ve had the chicken tikka masala, naans, rice, and onion pakoras. The chicken tikka masala is wonderfully spicy at medium, creamy but balanced, and the chicken tikka is moist and tasty. Naans are thin, but great. Rice is always perfect. Onion pakoras are tasty too.
