This is my first Unilocal review. I ordered a carnitas burrito and am honestly disappointed. Every bite is room temperature, unseasoned meat slathered in cold sour cream and what I can only assume is supposed to be guacamole. The beans on the side taste like plastic and the sprinkles of unmelted cheese on top don’t do much for the appeal or appetite. We’re in So. Cal — were supposed to set the bar for good Mexican food. What a bummer.

When I got there and I was ask what drink I wanted it the waiter with an attitude she tells me «well the regular drinks we always have» excuse me never being to this place so I don’t know, then I ask for my meal the waiter saw that I didn’t have more Coke on my drink until this other waiter point it out to her I didn’t had a drink, the food was bad it was over cooked gross! Then when I ask for my check the girl took like 25min. Overall worst experience ever, if that girl doesn’t want to work quit your job I work in restaurant but you need a lot to learn from customer service

This is by far the best Poquito Mas in the area! Excellent food quality, to die for salsa, and very friendly staff. My favorite casual Mexican spot!

I hope this was just a bad night for them but probably not, waited 15 mins then went to check on where my nachos might be. Under the grill getting burnt for the second time I think. Then I have to tell him to take them out before he does it again. Then he(chef) forgets the chicken and puts some hard cold chunks of day old chicken on top, lovely, broke my teeth on it! As I’m eating a fella returns for a refund as he got the wrong burrito order. And the people next to me complain about their enchiladas. The place is also dirty. On the plus side the cashier was trying hard poor girl. Such a shame, I remember the poquito mas on sunset and how great it was. This place nowhere near that standard…

USED to be love this place. But customer service is down the tubes. They took away the soda fountain, and only have tiny overpriced glass bottles. The guy who delivers the food won’t even give you silverware or napkins and just yells at you. Not coming back.

I don’t like Mexican food… burritos stuffed with a bunch of ish, played out tacos on every corner, and dishes that are simply a shuffling of ingredients presented as if walla something brand new. But this place, it works for me. Ahi Tuna Tostada. Studio Plate(Grilled Chicken, White Rice, Cesar Salad, Black Beans). Pasilla Plate(Grilled Chicken stuffed into a Pasilla with cheese topped with mango salad). It just works. It’s clean. Healthy. Makes you feel good about what you just ate, what you just put into. It’s fairly cheap… right around $ 10 for any of the items I mentioned. Also they have a condiment bar with maybe 4 different salsas, cylantro, radish, jalapenos, and such. I eat at this location at least once a month. I recommend it. I must address some of the reviews claiming this place is «tasteless». I disagree, and most likely you will too. Just trust me on this. I’m not sure what these people are looking for, maybe a smothered burrito or some Mole’s or some ish. Everything here is seasoned just right, not overly seasoned, not really spicy. Or maybe these people are Taco Bell fans. Who knows… I mean you can’t please em all i guess, it don’t matter what it is you’re doing, somebody out there is not gonna like it, that’s just the way it is. Don’t be discouraged though, people are different and what you like someone will hate. I say go try it and judge for yourself. Unilocal, and any other review you read online is just a basis to make a decision, it shouldn’t change your opinion on trying a spot… that is unless you read 10 reviews about rats, then i get it. We all have different tastes, i could respect that, but to say the food is tasteless is just an exaggeration and if you ask me total bs.

Poquito mas is by far one of my favorite restaurants but this location had stale chips. I also got my order to go and ordered black beans in which they put pinto beans. Wasn’t too happy about that but still the best Mexican food around.

Really like this place! I had to go to the print shop across the street and was looking for some lunch so I dropped in to Poquito. Since it was my first time, I got 1 each of the classic tacos — steak, chicken, and carnitas. The steak and chicken were pretty standard, but I was really impressed with the carnitas. Next time I’m sticking only to those! This wouldn’t be a great little hole in the wall spot if parking wasnt awful, but the tacos definitely make up for it!

A little more… Yes please. I like this place. Great Mexican food with healthy and vegetarian options. You can pick your sauces, they make they’re own tortilla on site and a couple of combo plates that are all good. My favorite is the San Lucus, I highly recommend if you like spicy. Pequito Mas is a good alternative to the other large chains.

This used to be my favorite place, but it has declined. They put new tables in the main dining room instead of booths, which really don’t fit, you can’t fit in without hitting someone behind you. It already felt tiny in there, now you feel squished when sitting down too. They also took out the fountain drinks, and only offered bottled drinks now. If you want ice or water, they keep a bucket of ice and a picture of water in a fridge behind the counter. The salsa bar blocks the walkway, which has always been the case, but now the utensils are there too, causing an even bigger traffic jam. I used to go here several times a month, now I go once every few months.

The food here is great and the burritos are respectable in size as a meal unto themselves. I would recommend anything on the menu but the chips are«hit and miss». Sometimes they are pretty good and sometimes(as my most recent batch) they are not. It is disappointing because that takes away from the wonderful salsas that are offered. If you do decide to eat outside, you are forced to deal with the birds that tend to fly into the patio area. It isn’t the«prettiest» place and isn’t much to look at, and most of the time it’s takeout, but I like that«hole in the wall» vibe. Overall, I am never disappointed…

This is my go to place for clean, high quality Mexican style food that is healthy and at a very reasonable price. If I have out of town guests that want Mexican this is the first place I take them and have never had anyone disappointed. I much prefer the restaurant on Olive Ave in Burbank over the rest because of the area and style of the place.

came here for dinner with me and my friend. my friend had the vegetarian tacos and he love it! i have the shrimp tostada salad and it was delicious! we were greeted upon arrival, the cashier was really nice and accommodating to all our needs and questions. she gave excellent customer service. every person got to have some house tortilla chips, which was scrumptious as well. we would definitely be back or maybe try different branch that is close to us.

I eat here almost twice a week. Sure it’s a tight spot, and parking can be challenging, but I don’t care. I order the Shrimp Burrito, San Felipe, which is $ 10.95. It has a lot of Shrimp in it and the tortillas are homemade. Its the BOMB! The Pinto beans are amazing as well. Perfect with the chips they give me. I have taken my friends there and they LOVE it too. The employees are sweet and work hard. Take out works best for me,

The Mas is THEBIZ. I always get the vegetarian burrito with pinto beans. I smother it with their hottest salsa and jalepenos and have my way with it. «Take me to church» was written for this fine establishment. This is my Paquito home base, but all that may be changing. They no longer have a soda fountain machine(bottles only now) and they no longer supply tapitio or cholula. Although I’m not personally offended by the hot sauce hit, my posse is. Gotta live the dream at the Burbank location for a while.

They’re paying people to write the good reviews. They don’t give coupons or discounts of any kind. And/or, the people writing them don’t know what real Mexican food tastes like. I’ve been to Mexico a number of times and this food is NOT Mexican food. Then again, the owner/founder of Poquito Mas is Scottish. The tortillas taste funny, almost gluey. $ 7.95 for a chicken burrito? F*** it. The best thing about The Mas is the chips and salsa. Everything else totally sucks. You won’t get full. Go eat somewhere else. Quit eating there a long time ago. I make better Mexican food in my kitchen.

We ordered food for the office and was very pleased. It’s not rare to find missing items or mixed up orders when making large orders, but this location got it all right. The burritos were very juicy and the meat was super tender and fresh! I enjoyed the steak burrito, two thumbs up!

I like the steak burrito with sour cream, and cheese quesadilla. The food is pretty good and fresh. The down sides here are the parking(you most likely have to find street parking on the residential side streets) and fact that the place itself is pretty small and feels cramped. It does get super busy during the lunch rush. All that aside, the food is what counts, and the food is pretty damn good.

I haven’t been to this nearby neighborhood hang for a couple of years. I was in the mood for fresh and fast take-home Mexican food. When I walked in, the salsa bar was disgusting. The was salsa droppings all over the rims and counter and very little salsa was left in each of the bins. When I pointed this out to a young woman who worked behind the counter, she looked briefly to the salsa and said«oh». I thought when she went back into the kitchen she would come out with cleaning supplies and fresh salsa. Instead, she flirted with the boys in the back and the request was soon released from her mind. When I brought home my so-called fresh, «line caught ahi tuna tacos, the tuna was small, shriveled up, overcooked, and dry. The chips were stale. The only redeeming item to eat was the black beans. Just to let you know, even my cat turned up her nose to the tuna.

My husband and I order to go from here about once a week. I like this location because it’s not as crowded as the other one and they have Tilapia Fish Tacos which are the BEST. I also get the chicken tostada which is better then any one I’ve ever had at any expensive Mexican restaurant. My husband gets the Carne Asada mucho max burrito and loves it. Thanks for fresh Mexican food that I have been eating for 23 years now!

2015 Unilocal100CHALLENGE — 019⁄100 I have been to three different Poquito Mas locations, and this one is probably my least favorite location. Although it is the closest to my apartment, I would rather go to the other two I have visited(Sherman Oaks and Encino). I visited this location for the first time this past weekend with my roommate. We were looking for some quick fast food and she had never been to Poquito Mas before, so I decided to take her here. I recently discovered the amazingness of their steak quesadillas, and wanted to eat them again. Food wise, this location is totally fine. I literally have no complaints about my food and it was on par with the other locations. Read other peoples’ reviews on how much they love the food so I don’t have to tell you about it: P The reason why I do not like this location is because of the store itself. First of all, the parking sucks and the lot is EXTREMELY tiny. There really isn’t any room for a driveway so the spot that I was parked in basically backed up into the street. It was so strange. AND I have a tiny car! Some person next to me had a hard time parking and was parked at an obscure angle, probably to the annoyingly small size of the lot. This location is also reeeally tiny. Like probably 2 – 3 times smaller than the other locations I’ve been to. This Poquito Mas almost feels like a totally different establishment than the other two stores I’ve been to because it’s much older, looks really different, and is a lot smaller. This PM makes me feel like I’m eating at a super authentic, hole-in-the-wall Mexican place. The other two locations in Sherman Oaks and Encino make me feel like I am eating at your usual Fresh Mex fast food chain such as Unamas, Baja Fresh, or Rubio’s. It’s really strange. Overall, I was not thrilled when I went to this location. Food is great, but I’d probably only get food to go because I was annoyed with the limited space!

I don’t know if it was just this location or if the quality is going down. Normally I go to the location on olive. This place was dirty. Garbage on tables amd on the ground. The salsa bar had the extra spicy sauce above the mild pico. People had obviously dripped it in because it was insanely hot. I won’t be going back. My shrimp burrito looked great but It was over grilled and the 2 shrimp inside were horribly over cooked.
