Little Chili Thai Cuisine

Lunch Specials! Oh how I love those. It was cheap, only $ 6.95. I had a hard time trying to pick which one to have. But in the end I ordered the green chicken curry extra spicy with fried rice. It was pretty standard. I’ve had better, but it was still absolutely satisfying.
The food was enough to take home for a second meal although the way he packed it was inconvenient for me later. He wrapped my curry in foil and placed it in the same box as my fried rice, which was fine until I went to heat it up later and the curry was getting all over the place and the foil was splitting into little pieces. Not fun to deal with.
I liked that it was a hole in the wall, mom and pop type of joint. And there was a really cute little kid around 5 or 6 years old that was obviously someone’s kid hanging out in the front. Reminded me of when I was little.
The décor isn’t anything special. It’s basically a medium size room with dreary paint and plain tables. Very fast food asian style. They did have a couple of tables outside which might be more pleasant.
Overall, I’d come here again I think. I’d rather support them than snotty Talesai.

I used to be a fan of this place until the day I got a salad that had dirt in it and a little ant waving his antennae at me. I really did like it up until that point. :o (

Little Chili is little. The space is small and sparse, and I suspect most of their business is take-​out or delivery.
We got some take out from here last night, two dishes. Red curry, which was recommended in other reviews, and pad kee mao (they call it drunken noodle here). The red curry was tasty, creamy, and slightly spicy sweet. The pad kee mao, although it was spicy and delicious, was a bit too greasy. I know, pad kee mao is always going to be greasy, but I prefer a less greasy version.

I read great reviews and I am looking for a local Thai place to call home when I am too lazy to drive to Mae Ploy (THE BEST THAI FOOD EVER) This place has about 6 tables, in one room the size of an extra large bathroom. Little… Yes indeed. Parking sucks, and NO BEER! I immediatley thought what have I gotten myself into. The service was attentative, the food was really good, and so far is my number 2 place.
The Tom Yum soup was too sweet and they used the «Stupid» mushrooms that I do not like, but it is still the second best I have had out here.
Yellow Curry– Excellent
Pad Thai– I do not like pad thai because it usually too sweet, Thiers was not I found it acceptable, my girlfriend did not like it because it was not sweet enough. so if you like pad thai you may not like thiers.
Overall a good place to get some thai food, but a little uncomfortable

While it’s really nothing to look at I can’t recommend this place more. the food is great, and the people are very nice. Get the Red Curry Chicken and the Tai Iced Tea and enjoy!

This place, although it looks unassuming, has really good food. Even my bf, who’s normally very picky about meat in Asian cooking, was impressed with his dish and gave it his approval.
I had the red curry with tofu lunch special with thai iced tea, all of which I was really happy with. Even the presentation on the plate was very well done. The bf had spicy mint beef with hot tea; he said the meat was really good and fresh, and tasted like they had grilled/​charred it a little before cooking it in with the vegetables.
Only room for improvement would be if they offered beer on their menu. If they did, we totally missed it, but it would have rounded out the meal nicely. The hot teas are limited to lipton brand, and the inside is very sparsely decorated, so not a lot of ambiance to speak of.
All in all, we had a really yummy, affordable meal, and I’ll definitely be back. Don’t let the appearances deceive you– it’s the food that counts here! It’s a great lunch spot ($ 5.95 lunch specials), or I could definitely see it as a dinner take out/​delivery spot.

after finally eating thai food here a few times, they are closing shop. turning into a vegan food place. damn, dirty vegans! oh well, good bye little chili. that’s what you get for charging me a dollar for a tiny box of rice. I CURSED YOU!

**EDIT 4/​12/​08 – It’s CLOSED and LOTUS Vegan Restaurant has opened in its place!!! *cries uncontrollably* Vegan? But I like SHRIMP in my Thai food! I have to go by there and do some recon: Does vegan mean they’re exclusively vegan or can I still get my shrimp on? Is it still even Thai food? Is is still the same people cooking, or is it a totally different operation? These questions must be answered! If anyone knows, post up a review!
Oh wow. Every time I’ve ordered Little Chilli it’s been a delight of wonderful thai flavors dancing in my mouth. I’m a SUCKA for the Red Curry Shrimp or Panang Curry Shrimp, and these both promptly blew my socks off the first time I tried them. And the second time. And the third, and the fourth… you get the idea. It’s tasty. The Thai iced tea is, by nature, seductively yummy and it’s strong; it doesn’t disappoint. Pad thai is good too.
True, ambience is not what you go here for. You go here for tasty thai food. Good enough for me.
I love Little Chilli and I’m glad I live stumbling distance. :D

FANTASTIC. Best Thai food I have had in a long time. A modest place I just wish more people knew about it. If you haven’t gone trust me and check it. Did I mention its cheap?

This place was one of my favorite parts of going up to North Hollywood. The people there are friendly, the prices are decent, and their Ginger Chicken is DER BOMB. Seriously. I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, craving the sweet and slightly spicy concoction.

An unimposing little place that my sister and I stumbled onto by sheer luck, Little Chili was chosen primarily because we were both viciously hypoglycemic and she’d never tried Thai food and we were driving by. The appearance – both outside and inside – is nothing to rave about, but that’s not infrequently the case with places that have killer food. If you don’t mind being served up delectable Thai food for very reasonable prices in a plain, boxy environment, then Little Chili deserves your consideration. Both dishes we got were fantastic… even the tofu was delicious, and though I’m a vegetarian I have to admit that I generally only tolerate tofu for the sake of its health benefits. This, however, was quite good – cooked to just the right consistency, neither too dry nor too soft, and with just a bit of crispiness on the outside. The garlic sauce, cabbage, and broccoli that accompanied my bean curd were fresh and flavorful, and the sambal, though nothing exceptional, was a great complement. My sister’s mixed veggies in chili sauce were also a delight, and even the rice was steamed just so – tender but not alarmingly sticky. Need I add that the Thai iced tea and iced coffee were also wonderful? With portions this generous, I wasn’t able to scout out desserts, but that’s not a bad thing for the waist, and keep in mind that those heaping entrees were $ 6.45 each… not too shabby at all.
