Elegance Tailoring

Anush is a beautiful soul – honest and straightforward. I had an expensive black leather jacket that needed some tailoring and was looking for someone who could do a professional job. I came into Elegance on a whim when i noticed there were a few but extremely positive reviews.
As I was talking and getting to know her, I quickly recognized that she wasn’t just your average seamstress but a very knowledgeable and incredibly talented woman. I realized she could be doing many other things, but she has a passion for what she does and even noticed another customer that came in that was beyond thrilled at her work. She showed me some of the crazy difficult jobs she’s completed and needless to say, I was actually impressed which doesn’t happen often.
I decided Anush was the right person for the job and had her do the alterations. Not only did she turnaround and kill the job insanely quickly, but the jacket was absolutely PERFECT :) I’d trust her with all my valuable clothing and plan to come back frequently. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

Let me start by saying, i NEVER write reviews. It’s just not my thing; HOWEVER, Anush at Elegance Tailoring deserves one! First, let me say, the work done was absolutely AMAZING, but that’s not what this post will be about. There are tons of great seamtresses and whatnot in the area, and Anush is among them. What I WILL go into great depth of is how absolutely amazing Anush is as a person, and how accommodating she is to her customers. So here’s the scenario:
I am an actor. Just recently moved to the area from cross-​country to pursue my career. I was booked for a TV show, lets just say on a Monday, for me to work that next day, Tuesday. For the TV show, I would have to wear a tuxedo (of my own) that I’d never work before due to the pants needing to be hemmed a great deal. Well I found out I was booked rather late in the day. I live in the area and had noticed the alteration store right around the corner from me many times in passing and decided to go by to see if, at this late in the evening, my pants would be able to be altered and picked up by tomorrow morning. I went to see Anush and I immediately saw how incredibly busy she was (a good sign that her business has a loyal customer base because of the quality of her work) and she repeatedly checked in with me to let me know she would be with me as soon as she finished with the customers there before me. She finally got to me and I explained what I needed and when I needed it. As a sidenote, let me reiterate, she was SWAMPED with work and DID NOT have to do my alteration, since I arrived so late. Not only did she agree to do the alteration, she said she could have it done by the same night! Anush is a VERY sweet lady and her very nice nature is only rivaled by her incredible talent in what she does. I will go to her again and again for my alteration needs. Anush represents a quality in business owners/​workers that is becoming more and more rare: a combination of both pride in their work and great customer service.

If I could give Anush 25 stars, I would. She is, without a DOUBT, the most amazing seamstress/​designer/​Macguyver with a needle and thread ever!
Let me start by saying I took my wedding dress to Anush to be altered with only about a month to go before the wedding — but even that didn’t matter as I was pregnant and major alterations couldn’t be done until the week of. However, Anush, being the engineering genius that she is, devised several ways to help ensure that my gown would stay up without the internal corset and boning that had to be removed (as my growing belly wouldn’t allow for that).
Firstly, she literally created a slip and sewed it onto my strapless bra so expertly, that I’m sure it could be sold for hundreds of $. The darts she put in made it form to my figure so exquisitely that there was no bunching at all. She also made straps for the dress — no easy feat considering she overlayed the straps with lace from my dress that she removed during the hemming process, as well as with crystals that matched those on my dress. As I mentioned, she hemmed my delicate lace dress and created a more dramatic back such that I now had a small train where one did not previously exist. The top was altered slightly for a big impact, and she also was thoughtful enough to add a bustle so that I could dance without fear of my dress being stepped on and ripped off. The piece de resistance was my detachable train made of two layers of tulle with a row of decoration across the top made of white resin flowers with crystals and vines made out of wire and crystals. When I bought my gown, I hadn’t noticed that 2 flowers were missing from the center of the train. Anush spent a ton of time moving the remaining flowers and placing them such that no one would have guessed that any were missing.
She is truly a magician — and more than that, she is an exceptionally lovely person. I feel so lucky that I was referred to her, so naturally I want to return the favor. She is a one-​woman show and she has a long list of steady clients — but I can’t imagine she would turn anyone away. In fact, she used to be located in a small center at the top of Beverly Glen, and when she moved to the valley, all of her clients moved with her — she is just that amazing.

Anush at Elegance tailoring is elegant, kind, professional and precise with all her alterations! She is so easy to work with and makes sure that every detail of your alteration is done perfectly. I brought her men’s and woman’s items and both came out great. I highly recommended Anush — also quick turn around after drop off of items and that is a plus, with the very busy LA days I have!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good my jeans turned out. I’ve had Original hemming done before by other alteration places, but this place is AWESOME! The owner was very friendly and kind, and the turn around was very quick. I will definitely recommend Elegance Tailoring to all of my friends and will use them in the future.
