Went here with my husband for lunch today! Typically he doesn’t like to go to the same place over and over again but he said he’d make an exception for this joint. Our servers name was Sara and she was super nice. We had the early bird special that starts at 12:00. It was two dinner entrees and a carafe of sangria for the incredible low price of $ 27! The meals would be 20 $ a piece anywhere else, no joke! It’s such a lovely place I have no idea why they are practically giving their meals away but I will take advantage as long as I can. I’m forever a fan!

Went here on a Saturday night and the food was presented nicely but the flavor wasn’t there. The crab cakes tasted like soap and the dessert tasted like it was in the fridge for days but looked pretty. I was really disappointed.

Some of the food isn’t bad, just inconsistent. Got the same dish 3 times in 3 weeks and it was always different and one time TERRIBLE. If your into dudes with grease in their hair who looked like the just came from the Regatta Club in Fall River then you may like it. All in all the wait staff isn’t too bad. Couple of cute bartenders that usually have a bar full of fat middle age men all wishing they could say something to relate to them. Sad really. Not a place to bring your wife unless its early and you get the seat by the fake fire.

Food was good. I had the Portuguese steak i would have it again. The service was good but the main course was very slow in coming. The biggest complaint was the noise level. There were six in our party and I could not hear across the table. The place was packed so maybe going earlier would be quieter. No other complaints from the six of us.

I really enjoy Trio. I would call it more a modern spin on Portuguese food, than traditional Portuguese, which is great for me. I’ve been this location a few time. They serve bread with a sweet herbed oil that is delicious. The Portuguese steak is my favorite version, although not traditional. Here, you’re getting an actual thick cut steal, instead of cubed steak(which is how I’m used to seeing it). It’s seasoned perfectly, and manages to not be too salty. I’ve also had the Pistachio crusted chicken which is really juicy. The staff is attentive, and prices are fair for the large portions. I always have enough for lunch the next day. Mixed drinks are on the expensive side, but decent quality. What’s really good about here is that they have parking. The Fall River location is nice too, but parking is tough unless you valet.

Not my personal favorite, but that has more to do with my taste in food than the restaurant itself. We go here fairly often, my better half finds Trios Dartmouth to have THEBEST Portuguese Steak. I’ve had it once and it was good. I much prefer their Lamb Chops, but it’s a ‘special’ and not always available. The last time we went(last week) I got the Filet Mignon with béarnaise sauce. It is on the large side(10 oz), and was cooked to order(rare to medium rare). I’m not a huge fan of Filet Mignon, I prefer a good prime rib, but I enjoyed it so much I ate it all. The filet came with risotto which was also very good and asparagus. Every time we come here the food is great; and they make great drinks!

I love going here for dinner and drinks after work with my friends. The pistachio chicken and the shrimp alhino(appetizer) is so good. My only suggestion is to do away with the paper sheets over linen table cloth. Just go with the linen.

Can’t say enough about Trio. The Fall River and Dartmouth restaurants are awesome. The owners and staff are super courteous and accommodating. The food is outstanding. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and it’s all been great. I would highly recommend Trio to anyone.

Have been here many times and I love it! Have never been to the Fall River location. Every time I come here the food, drinks and atmosphere have been great. During the summer they have outside patio seating, which is a nice option, but is only about 6 tables and almost feels like you’re sitting in the parking lot as it is right in front of the building off to the side, separated from cars by a line of bushes. The inside of the building has very modern, artsy décor which provides a nice ambiance. The bar/lounge area is nice and I have seen people enjoying live music on the weekends in there. Separate from the lounge is the dining room which is nice and romanticly dimly lit and artfully decorated with the tables placed just a tad close together. Have had good burgers and pasta dishes but my absolute favorite are the Thai Peanut Chicken tenders, also available as as an entrée in an Asian pasta stirfry. My boyfriend has also tried many of the seafood dishes which he has liked. There is a Portuguese influence on much of the food but it is not overpowering and there is a variety of other options as well. The martinis and sangria are very good. Service was great overall. Busboys come by frequently and respond to your needs as if they were servers. My server last time was good but he disappeared for an extended period of time in which thankfully other staff members were willing to meet my needs. Great for date night, family dinners, and with friends. A nice relaxing romantic feel.

Went there for a(belated) Christmas work-party(me &5 others) … had reservations but still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The food was very good. The place was a little loud, though. We liked where we sat … in a corner kinda off in our own space, which was nice … even though every single picture on the wall around us was all crooked. Overall it’s a nice place.

I and six family members had a weekday lunch at Trio recently and everyone was pleased with their meal. We ordered for appetizers the calamari and the Trio littlenecks – both delicious. I then had a special of the day, a steak tips wrap that was really good, the tips done just right and quite tender. In addition to the good food(which was priced quite reasonably) we enjoyed the service of a lovely waitress, good-humored and attentive throughout the meal. The café has a decent selection of wines and beers and a pleasant dining room. We have put Trio on our list of favorite places to have our occasional family get-togethers.

No one at the register coming in was the first sign of quality at this place. Make sure to bring a light jacket, it gets chilly in here. The help was below average. It seems they only had to pass a wet T-shirt contest to be hired. Mind lacking and forgetting orders. Orders were also completely late or missing components. Water is not pleasant. Get bottled water if it’s something you must have. Keep an eye on your kids, the chairs were not meant to hold a kid steady. We had an accident and almost left. My waitress forgot our limes after several request for them. When we finally got them, they were dry as if they were under a heat lamp. Calamari was good, but that could’ve been because I was hungry and still waiting for food to arrive. Did I mention that they’re forgetful. Be wary of Lynn C!

Something needs to change. The menu, the artwork, the speed of service… I don’t know, maybe all three need to change… I feel like everything there tastes the same and is super salty. And the mixed drinks, GROSS! I’m not a mixologist but I know what I like to taste and I avoid ordering alcohol there because it does not taste right(quality of ingredients or liquor).

We came here last night to celebrate v day and my birthday. We ordered the little necks and they were awesome. Very good sauce and you can dip the bread in it. I had the porter house with creamy mushroom sauce with rice and sweet potato fries for sides. The steak was tender and very tasty. My wife had the pistachio crusted Chicken and it was amazing. They were pretty busy and we got there at 5PM and left close to 7PM on a Sat night. The waitress was nice, but she is not the brightest waitress, for sure. Overall experience was amazing and will come back again.

I met a friend for a concert at UMA Dartmouth. After he suggested 99 or Olive Garden. Quickly, I went online and found Trio Café. We arrived 9:30. It was packed with post holiday goers. The spot is chic and trendy with lovely art and amazing colors and lights. We settled into a sofa near the fireplace in the lounge and had a lovely time. I had a smooth Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir and he had a Blue Moon beer he loved. We shared the Portuguese combo with red pepper, homemade Portuguese cheese and grilled Cibatta. He had a burger on a lovely roll. I don’t eat meat but he enjoyed it and I picked at his salad and fries. It’s a hip spot with romance and comfort in mind. I loved the bar and watched the Celtics play in between food and chat.

Wow — this restaurant is shockingly bad. Everything we ordered tasted just wrong. The bread was served with rancid olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The salad had plain vinegar on it despite being described as a «vinaigrette.» The scallops were undercooked. The steak was ridiculously salty. We asked the waitress for a recommendation for a bottle of wine, and she couldn’t think of one. The«special cocktails» were nasty. We had to ask for and wait for silverware after they brought our meals. We had to keep asking to have our water glasses refilled. From the other reviews, it looks like it’s a good place to do some drinking, but it’s definitely not a good dining experience.

I checked out Trio on Monday night and was impressed. Trio is in a class of restaurants locally that is clearly driven by owners who understand how important it is to continually refine your menu, provide a high quality meal/experience, and keeping prices reasonable for the area. When you walk into Trio, you might be a little surprised to see that the restaurant in incredibly well built out(former tenants were a fine dining flop that left Trio some nice digs to work with). We tried the prosciutto-wrapped Jumbo Shrimp off the Specials menu which were solid. We followed that up by taking advantage of their Monday special — two entrees and a bottle of wine for $ 34.99. But here’s the kicker, the owners have the presence to know that most people will want to upgrade from the free wine and they enable just that by giving you a $ 15 credit toward any bottle of wine — solid! The entrees were good, but I don’t think I had the best Trio could offer and look forward to returning to explore more of the menu. Pesto Scallops were in a Pesto Madeira sauce — unique, but I can’t decide whether it works or not. The Risotto with steak tips and mushrooms was a solid dish(definitely a good pick if you’re deciding off the Special’s Menu) Dessert was pretty good — lava cake and chocolate layer cake both good choices. Neither is made in house, but they have roughly 10 dessert options, half of which are made onsite. Everything from the $ 6 desserts, $ 3 buds and sub $ 20 entrees was reasonably priced. I recommend giving Trio a shot is you’re unsure where to head to for that next dinner.

After a few pitchers of sangria and a 7 girl reunion… our waitress was polite, fun and very patient! She was the first waitress to buy a round of shots for our group. Impressive! Most of the girls ordered the steak filets and were satisfied with portion, cost and preperation. I ordered the Shrimp Alhinho — white garlicy Portuguese style sauce and a side salad. My meal was tasty and we had a great time… thanks Café Trio!

I went there with my parents for dinner. Restaurant has very nice atmosphere with a modern look and features paintings from a local artist. I didn’t think the paintings suited the look very well, but the dim-ish lighting was nice. Appetizers: We ordered the shrimp, clam chowder, and baby spinach & strawberries salad. They were all excellent. The salad and clam chowder were especially delicious. Entrees: We ordered scallops, pistachio chicken, and fruitti(?) d mar(various seafood). Portion sizes were huge! My chicken came with 2 large breasts and I loved the pesto sauce it came with. Parents liked their seafood dishes, too. Service: A bit slow on service. Our entrée orders were taken after we finished our appetizers, so there was a bit of a waiting time. Also, they cleared away both of my forks and forgot to bring me a new one so I had to ask for it. Other than that, good, friendly, timely service. I would definitely go back for a semi-fancy dinner. Menu items offer a lot of other things I’d like to try

Sophisticated yet affordable. Came here recently with a few of my coworkers for a Friday night out! Great for a classy group of girls who want to enjoy a tasty meal and even tastier drinks. Roomy bar area with small tables set up, great for waiting for others to arrive. The only downside is that you have to pay for your drinks before you can be seated for the meal. Reservations are key! You can sit immediately and receive quick and friendly service. Our waitress was very helpful in choosing meals and drinks. She was quick to offer suggestions on buying bottles of wine rather than individual drinks to save us money! It’s great when staff checks on these things to give the customer the best bang for their buck. I love the range of prices on the menu. If you want to enjoy an expensive entrée you can.. . price ranges from $ 10 — $ 20 on these items. On the other hand, if you still want to go out with your friends, but don’t want to spend as much, there are sandwiches offered as low as $ 5 a piece! I will definitely return to this restaurant as I was very impressed with the efficiency of their service and the quality of the interior of the restaurant as well as what it offers.
