Red Jacket Mountain View Resort

Just returned from a weekend getaway with my two girls Friday checked into the hotel the rooms where nothing to brag about very out dated the bathrooms where very very out dated no microwave in the room which I would of appreciated seeing a how my kids like to eat cups of Mac and cheese and soup or after eating out and snacking on left overs later on in the night they did how ever provide Starbucks coffee packages to make coffee in the morning that was a plus! The staff was over all very attentive anything we called the front desk for they attended to us right away the rigs in the room where gross need to be updated!!! Saturday we went to story land was great headed back to the hotel to swim in the pool and have drinks in the 85? degree sun it was very relaxing went to lunch at the red fox restaurant which was so so good Sunday we paid for the water park in the hotel NEVER AGAIN. It’s over priced and a BIG waist of money they have the pool outside for Free the kids went into the water park for 30 minutes and wanted to go back outside to the pool instead 80 bucks down the drain 20 a person ! For 30 minutes of a water park don’t recommend buying the passes overall I enjoyed my weekend get away

We stayed last weekend after snagging a deal on groupon. The waterpark passes were included and the highlight of our trip. They provide free lockers and a café inside the park. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check into the room early. The breakfast buffet was incredible (14.99 adult, 8.99 child). When my young son didn’t eat much they didn’t charge the full amount. The beds in the room were very comfortable. The gym had standard machines. Could use a fan in there. We loved that they offer daily family activities though we were too busy to do all of them. Loved the horse drawn wagon ride. Can’t wait to return

It’s a good visit and the water park was good as part of a ski trip. We came mainly for the water park and had a decent time with the slides, wave pool, and sauna. The staff was fabulous but the room, carpet, and some of the furniture a were stuck in the 70s. The lifeguard, Tyler, really help us a lot in the water park. So kudos to him going above and beyond in comparison to his supervisor who wasn’t as flexible. The splash and save with breakfast package was the way to go with this resort. The day pass seems to be expensive for the size and variety of the water park but it’s one of those things you do once a season — so no loss — but in comparison to Coco Keys or Great Wolfe Lodge, Kahuna Laguna needs to step it up a bit.

Great customer service! The front desk staff was so friendly and genuine. We got there a bit early so we were waiting for our room, they took my number and called when it was ready.
We ended up with a large spacious room with an upstairs loft. The room was a little dated and could use some fixing up but we were only there to sleep so no big deal. Mini fridge, hair dryer, tv and AC. The AC was an old version where it sits under the window and would turn off in the middle of the night and get stuffy so that was a bummer. The bathroom has a weird setup and the door barely closes as its like a half inch from the toilet.
We were there specifically for Storyland and did a couple of hours at the water park as well. The resort was at full capacity but our room stayed pretty quiet, so that was nice.
This is a family friendly resort with the Kahuna Laguna water park attached. They have fun activities included like horse drawn hay rides, pool games and marshmallow roasts! On the main road and close to restaurants, shops and attractions.

The room is outdated but there is everything you need. Stuff is excellent! Breakfast was superb.

Come to North Conway every weekend after Thanksgiving, this was the first time at the resort. Kids loved it because of the water park which was great, clean, organized and well run. Hotel was okay, room was dirty, hair from previous guest on faucet and mirror. Had an awful smell, like mold. Breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about. We had a good time, but next year back to our favorite spot. Same price, minus the waterpark!

Excellent hotel with activities every night. The indoor water park was awesome. The rooms are clean and spacious. We stayed for 4 days and loved every minute of it.

I have always loved this old piece of my childhood. My last visit was in September, 2013 when my niece was married here. How the Staff put up with my boisterous, fun loving family running in almost every room at their hotel, I will never know! It is so beautiful here that in honesty, I could stay for weeks and never leave. Fall brings the leaves changing colors and one can sit on the front lawn in chairs the Staff puts out, and just enjoy the view and the breeze. The restaurants and bar are top-​notch and that is saying something! You will find enough on the menu to keep you happy for, at the very least, two weeks. But then go into town (just down the driveway actually and turn right. All the best restaurants are on the left… Tony, we hope you and the others are still there!

We booked our Traditional rooms there on Expedia. The prices were okay. When we arrived around 11pm, the front desk was very nice and didn’t seem to be bothered by our late arrival. Once we checked in, a young man took all the luggage out of our car and put it on a dolly. I accompanied him and he showed me where our rooms were and we separated the luggage between my parents room and my room. Our rooms were on the ground floor (there’s an upper floor and a lower floor). My room came with two double beds. The rooms looked very nice at first glacé. One thing to note is that the sink for the bathroom is not in the same room as the toilet. The shower and toilet are right next to the sink with a closing door. The night for the actual bathroom was very dim and flickered a bit. The lights above the sink were very bright and the mirror was very clean. The sink/​shower water was very very clear and clean. The beds were a little low, but were very clean and well kept. Our room had a patio that came with two chairs and was very clean. The indoor water park costs $ 20 a person for hotel guests that want to go in the water, and $ 10 for people that are just there to watch kids. I, a 16 year old, had a lot of fun there. It was very clean and the whole place didn’t reek of chlorine. They give you complementary lockers and the changing spaces are very large. The game room next to it runs on tokens and is very run down. The morning breakfast buffet, which is upstairs in a restaurant called Champney’s. They had an omelette/​egg station with a man cooking to your liking, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs benedict, and various other breakfast foods. The food was great, but all the children running around screaming gave me a headache. The children is the main reason why I rated this hotel 3 stars. They will be running up and down the halls at all hours of the morning and night. They were loud, and often times I couldn’t sleep because of them. I understand that there is an indoor water park but the parents around my room clearly could not control their kids. The other reason I rate this hotel 3 stars is that it isn’t very modern. The rooms felt kinda old and there is very little cell phone service there. They do have free wifi though; the password is one the envelope they give you with your keys when you check in. All in all, it’s a very kid friendly resort with great staff and a great location, but if you’re looking for a very modern and new hotel, this isn’t the best choice for you.

I have stayed here twice now with my family of 5. Prices are a little high for what the rooms are because they are very outdated but I will just say that they are VERY clean!!! We always get the package that includes the water park. My kids absolutely love it here! The breakfast you get the next morning is amazing! Great quality. The bar area however does not have good food.
The hotel also has a little game area with pinball and air hockey and other arcade games that my kids really enjoy as well. Can’t wait to bring them back. After 2 days of full on play there they are ready to sleep for 3 days straight which is amazing!
If you stay here make sure you drive down the road and eat at Delanneys!!!

We recently stayed at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in North Conway, New Hampshire and had a lovely stay. Not only is it a lovely resort but it also has Kahuna Laguna Indoor Water Park!
The Resort is beautiful. As you drive up you see it up on the hill. We had a Mountain View Family Alcove Room which overlooks the mountain range, and has two separate rooms. The kids were excited to sleep in bunk beds and have their own TV. It was nice having a door so the kids could get to sleep earlier.
The beds were really comfortable. You could easily fit up to 6 people in the room. I also noticed that our room was very quiet. There was very little noise that we could overhear from the hall or other rooms. We also had a lovely view of the Mountains from our room.
I think the highlight for my kids was the Kahuna Laguna Indoor Water Park. The first day we arrived the weather was very rainy so it was a perfect time for the Water Park. There are packages that can be purchased that include the water park, or if you are staying at the Red Jacket Fox Ridge Resort it is $ 20 a person to enjoy the water park. You can also visit the water park even if you are not staying at a Red Jacket Resort. The kids loved the slides. There are four slides. Two require a tube and two do not. There is also a 25 person Hot Tub. Another favorite for my son is the basketball area in the water. The wave pool was great too. There are also areas for smaller children to play, splash and slide. There is also an outdoor heated pool which we enjoyed.
If you get hungry by the pool, no need to worry. There is The Tiki Tide Café with drinks and food. The prices were very affordable.
There are also packages that include breakfast which we got to enjoy. The breakfast area was in Champney’s and was right down the hall from us. There is a wonderful breakfast buffet including an omelet/​egg station, french toast, pancakes, Eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, home fries, fruit and pastries. A server gives you your beverages and there is coffee on the table. The breakfast was excellent and had a beautiful view of the mountains.
There are many activities going on during the day for families and the resort provides a schedule. This ranges from movies, to video game contests. We went to ceramics on one of the nights we stayed. The kids had an awesome time painting little doggies. Each of the items has a small charge from about $ 5 to $ 14.
The location is perfect and close to the North Conway center and Story Land and other family attractions.
Overall we loved it and would return in a heartbeat.

The Red Jacket Resort is a great hotel in the North Conway area if you’re looking to avoid the grossness of a chain motel. It offers affordable accommodations in an easy to find location that is nearby several White Mountain locations. The dining area offers an amazing menu and enormous buffet of gourmet foods, plus a view that can’t be beat. There is an indoor water park as well, for guests or non guests.

Pretty good value, considering. Even though the rooms have thin walls and small pillows… plus there’s a million fire doors in the corridors… you do get a good bang for your buck. The service goes above & beyond, the outdoor pool is a good size, you have an indoor water park, a restaurant that has buffets, game room, and more than one places to grab a drink on-​site including a bar that closes at 11p. There’s also some daily activities and treats here and there, too. The center of town is a 15 – 20 minute walk for most of the upwardly mobile… I can’t speak for anyone in need of a hip or knee replacement, though.

Stayed here this week Sun– Tues. Primary reason was for water park. The park was only open during the week starting at 3:00 pm. We didn’t come to ski or snowshoe, just to relax & get away, so this was a huge disappointment. Having said that, let me get to the actual review.
The staff was very friendly & attentive. The view was amazing from the restaurant & front facing rooms (we had a great view of the parking lot!). The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a tad outdated & very small. Hard for a parent & child to be in together. Decent sized sitting area & desk.
Water park — we had fun. It was kept clean and safe by staff. They have 4 good sized water slides, a wave pool, jacuzzi and basketball area for bigger kids. Nice sized locker rooms and supply towels & locker keys. No outside food/​drink allowed. Big design flaw is that parents can’t sit in food area & see kids playing in wave pool area. This fix would improve the experience since you can’t take purchased drinks over to lounge chairs.
Overall we enjoyed the park. Would not make a special trip here again though. Not worth a 2 night stay just for the water park.

We stayed here this past week, Thurs and Fri nights. We had purchased a Groupon that included two night and two days of water park passes for four people.
We arrived after 3 on Thursday and were warmly greeted. I had called a few days prior to our stay to request a room some distance from the elevator as I had read in prior reviews that it could be very noisy near that area. The joke was on me as we walked down a long corridor to our room that was separated by doors every 6 rooms or so. We were room 304 so we had 6 doors to push or pull open to get our room. It was only a real pain when we were carrying our bags to and from. I could see this being tough for a family carrying a baby in a car seat. We got what we asked for though.
Upon entering the water park we were immediately hit with a punch of humid air but it felt good. It’s still winter in NH and it was a welcome change of temperature. We had brought our own beach towels to use, not knowing what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by free towels offered by the resort. They also offer lockers with keys, no add’l charge as well. There is a small café that serves simple food, burgers, fries, chicken tenders, grilled cheese as well as some healthier options like hummus with pita bread. They also had beer and a few mixed frozen drinks for the adults. Also, you can charge your purchases here to your room.
There are about 4 areas to this park. The larger slides are predominant of course but a good half of the park is devoted to very young children. There are two different places for a little one to have fun with minimal adult supervision. The lifeguards are extremely diligent and attentive as well. One of the most popular areas though is the wave pool. It’s not very big but does a good job accommodating at least 30 people if not more. The waves come on every 15 min and they are fun. We actually enjoyed that area most when the waves weren’t running though. We really got the most enjoyment from just being able to swim together. From the wave pool you can walk or swim under a little bridge to the basketball hoop area. There are four basketball hoops. This whole area was 3 ft deep. However when the waves start up in the pool adjacent to it, this area gets a little rough. It’s fun, but hard to get around for a little person. It would be fun if there was a little more to do here than just four basketball hoops. After you shoot at all the baskets it feels kind of pointless to be over there.
Here’s a nice feature, the pool is salt water treated. You will still smell chlorine of course, thank goodness actually, but the salt is a healthier way to treat the water and it sure is nicer on the hair. Oh boy does it taste horrible though. Inevitably, you will get this water in your mouth. There a lots of kids here, you will get splashed, in the face, at least ten times. That’s what you signed up for!
There are four slides. Two (red and yellow) are for kids 48″ tall or less. Under 48″ tall kids have to ride with an adult on a double inflatable tube. Over 48″ you can ride alone on a tube. The other two slides, (green and purple) are body slides (no tube needed) but 48″ and over only. My husband rode the yellow and red slides w/​our child. I tried to get into a double inflatable tube but it was really awkward and I have a bad back, so when I tried to get in I felt my lower back lock up. Not good. So I took the green slide down, fun! The landing pool is very nice, there is a soft foam pad at the bottom right where you land, so your feet don’t go smashing down into the pool floor.
Safety is taken very seriously here. No running, no rough housing in the pools, the lifeguards are top notch.
The room was good, nothing over the top. But clean and functional. The sink was just outside the bathroom so that was a nice feature for us. There was also a refrigerator in the room, fairly good sized. The tv was fine, yes it’s not an up to date flat screen, who cares? You’re there for the park and spending time with family. Our room had a little balcony with two chairs and a nice view of the mountains. If only it had been a bit warmer! Beds were comfortable and clean. The noise level was not bad at all. I can see if you had rowdy families on either side of you, yes that would be annoying. The walls are pretty thin, but there was nothing that kept us awake.
We went to the breakfast buffet the first morning we were there. The buffet was above average, food was hot and good variety. Pancakes, french toast, waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs benedict and home fries. Omelet station, cut up fruit and pastries, and several cereal choices.
This hotel is made for family fun and making memories. Each day has a schedule of events to choose if you wish. Painting pottery, games, story time, bonfires at night with cocoa and marshmallows.
We will be back.

Went up to the Red Jacket for a good friends wedding. While Linda and the banquet group was great, that’s about the only thing that was great about it.
Upon checking into the room we were put on the first floor in the last room, basically sitting on the driveway, we requested to move and were given a room closer to the functions.
The bridal party had lunch at Palmers… one (sweet, but old) waiter made our drinks one by one, delivered them, the bride and groom got their lunch last, and then our cards got double charged. Awesome.
While sitting in the lobby the following morning, the front desk staff was talking about a guest on the phone that had called to see if their room would be ready upon arrival. Statements like «if you wanted a room ready you should’ve stayed two nights», «see you in a few hours?! Ya right». This was followed by comments about the front desk being small and looking like a «kindergarten desk».
I worked in a hotel, I get it, sometimes you just need a minute… take that minute in the break room.
The room was very dark and smelled pretty funny… definitely not worth the money that we paid. A refund would be nice thus far and we still have 24 hours to go…

This place is incredible. We just brought our son there for his second birthday. The indoor waterpark had an area to entertain him, and the waterslides and hot tub entertained us. It was never too crowded. We never had to wait in line to get on the slides, and the teenage staff I expected to be surly, was not. They were all really friendly.
Speaking of friendly, when the front desk receptionist found out that it was my son’s birthday, she gave him a free monkey. Unfortunately, we gave him too much sun and junk food. Later that night, he barfed in the bed. When we told they front desk, they were more concerned for his health than their vomited-​on sheets.
This is actually the second time we’ve been there, and one of the reasons is because of the food. The breakfast brunch is incredible. No rubbery eggs and chewy bacon. The food is always fresh. On Sunday, they had fresh-​sliced roast beef and coconut shrimp, and they always have an omelet bar. If you go, make sure you get the chocolate chip banana bread. I am going to dream about that shit.
We also ordered room service one night, and I had the best lobster grilled cheese I have ever had in my life. And for room service, it was not that expensive. My one complaint about the place is the layout. You have to walk across the whole building to get to your car, going through about five enclosed hallways, which is good if you’re trying to trap a toddler, but not if you’re trying to carry your luggage and mind a toddler. We always seem to manage though.

We brought our two kids and two friends here this weekend and loved it!

The water park was designed and layout was fantastic. Designed well to sequester young children away from the older kids. Slides were thrilling enough for my daring roller coaster going 14 yr and her friend and my 9 yr conservative safety girl.
The restaurant bar was well stocked and the breakfast buffet was perfect after an entire day of running and sliding all day long in the water.
Not well designed for handicapped or walking impaired. There are stairs everywhere! Even in our room!
Only bad points I will give is for cleanliness if the bathroom. Mold on backside of door and in the wallpaper. I was skevied out about how much mold was in the bathroom…
I will return again! (*hopefully our bathroom will be cleaner) Our kids had a blast and slept in til 10a! They were tuckered out! :-)

We surprised our 13 year old twins (and our two year old) with an overnight trip here. I had read numerous reviews and had heard nothing but wonderful things. I have to say, I was NOT disappointed.
First off it was affordable for a mountain view room with plenty of room, even with an additional cot. The view was AMAZING. It was clean and considering the amount of children in neighboring rooms it was surprisingly quiet! I’d say my only complaint was the water pressure in the toilet (had to call the front desk for help within thirty minutes of check in — to which they responded immediately).
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
We did not dine at the resort or visit the lounge though it all smelled and looked wonderful.
The amenities can’t be beat. Discounted park tickets to Kahuna Laguna, a fun game room, lots of planned activities for the whole family (ceramics, movie night and a bonfire on Friday night!) and beautiful views amid a gorgeous and well maintained resort. Really, worth the price.
We are hoping to stay again next winter to begin an ongoing tradition in our family.
