Popeyes Chicken & Biscuit

I’m nine months pregnant. When I have a craving I want what I want, and I want it how I want it. I just ordered a five piece naked tenders platter. Platter comes with two sides. I ordered fries and red beans w/​rice (the main side I craved). I pulled forward and waited extra time for the naked tenders to cook, no problem. The woman brings me my meal with no fries. I have to get my pregnant butt out of the car and go in (defeats purpose of drive thru). I make it home to see the second side is mashed potatoes. I HATE mashed potatoes! I just drove 30 minutes because I craved Popeyes, only to be disatisfied. I called the number four times to speak with a manger and the line was busy ALL four times! Really?! You don’t mess with a pregnant woman and her food! The cashier was excellent and my receipt was correct, but the person on the food line must be blind! I’ve worked approx 5 years in food service, and reading tickets is not that darn hard. Do better Dorchester Road! Do better!

My daughter and I have hit up this Popeye’s several times. I guess we’ve been lucky or the crappy manager doesn’t work evenings because it’s always been a dinner thing.
I can’t attest to the interior AT ALL because we always go through the drive through. Since I have a Bojangles not far, there will be some comparisons.
Hands down, Popeye’s biscuits are better (we’re of course not comparing their standard biscuit to the Boberry biscuit!!) than Bojangles biscuits. I’m a fan of the fried chicken wing and unfortunately, this location (maybe all Popeye’s?) has sad little wings. Bojangles is where I go for my fried chicken wing fix. Also I tend to get the mashed potatoes at Popeye’s because I’m sorta addicted to dipping my biscuit in it (mmmmm) but I’ll get the seasoned fries at Bojangles cause they’re BOMB! My daughter however is a fan of Popeye’s fries so just a matter of preference really. They aren’t bad, just not my preference.
Their fried chicken is good (spicy & mild), the sides we’ve tried are good, and we’ve never had an issue as far as the speed at which our food was delivered or experienced a rude employee.
Nothing worse than going during the work week to eat lunch somewhere and having to wait forever. Pet peeve of mine! As a food establishment they must know that the majority of their lunch customers during the week have to return to work and time is limited! Thankfully I haven’t experienced this nonsense personally at this establishment.

First time I have ever had Popeye’s and I am seriously impressed. Very good chicken, a freakin’ delicious biscuit, and great fries. Loved every second of this meal and will be back multiple more times.

This place is hit or miss plain and simple especially here in Charleston, some locations are good on one visit but bad on the next. This location was out of shrimp, and out of fish… really? The fish is better than the chicken so why are you even open? It’s always something that they don’t have at these east coast locations and cross your fingers that what ever they have will taste half way decent. The locations in TX were so much better as far as the quality of food. Definitely not looking forward to them coming to Charlotte…

5 stars. My daughter rated this place herself. Visually clean inside the store. fresh food. We asked for a cup of water with our food. They charge for the cup. I need to start bring a water bottle with me when we are out so we can refill it. I think every place is charging now.

About once a year I have a craving for fast-​food fried chicken. Yesterday was the day. Unfortunately, I chose this restaurant and was served food that contained several human hairs.
