I just arrived in Miami and this was the closes place to where I live, what a great hair dresser, nice friendly, kept asking questions to make sure I was happy at each stage so that in the end u got the cut I wanted. So happy I tipped him 30% which made his day Definitely will go back there again.

I had a great experience getting a haircut with Jorge! Here the story. I got the worst haircut of my life a couple of months, I was waitting to grow it long enough to fix it, I took my chances and visited the Cutting Room today and Jorge was upmost proffesional, he fixed it and I walked away feeling like a milion bucks. thanks for the repair Jorge! will definitelly come back.

My son who is 22 years old was a regular client at cutting edge or cutting room(whatever it’s called) He was always charged $ 25 for a buzz cut and a wash. I thought that was a reasonable price so I decided to go and try them out. I only received a blowout(my hair is extremely thin and above shoulders in length which the pictures clearly show) that literally took the hairstylist 10 minutes to do and I was charged a whopping $ 50. There was no price menu in sight and when I asked what the price would be the owner/hairstylist kept ignoring my question and waited to the end to surprise me with the bill. My son was also charged $ 50 this time, what normally cost him $ 25 in the past. I guarantee if he made the prices visible he would lose customers. When I complained about the price to the stylist/owner in a very discreet way(I didn’t want to embarrass my son) his response was«if you don’t agree with the price don’t come back.» I felt so robbed! To think that I was going to post pics of my hair on Facebook to promote this crook. Never would I want anyone to feel the way Kevin the owner made me feel. The blowout was a very average blowout and to top it off he doused me with cheap hairspray. if I felt it was worth it I would never have complained. Please do not waste your hard earned money & time by going to this hole in the wall. No windows and you could barely move around(it’s that tiny inside). There’s a saying«A penny wise, a dollar foolish» that clearly describes this owners mentality.,. I certainly will NEVER go back and would advise anyone and everyone I know not to either. I must also state that the owner has some serious anger issues if you dare complain about anything. He’s really scary in every way.

Fell into this salon by chance searching online when I first moved to Miami. I haven’t been to another salon in almost five years and will not! My stylist is Kevin and he never disappoints. However, all the staff are amazing and treat you like family when you walk in. I referred my brother(who could easily have gone to a cheap place like Supercuts) and he fell in love with the salon too. Highly recommended!

We just moved to North Bay Village. And I got my haircut at The Cutting Room today. My hair looks great, the price was great, and Jorge who cut my hair was very nice, so was everybody else. I like the stamp card they give you. Get 5 haircuts and the 6th is on the house. Awesome!

I had long hair and the tips were damaged and needed to be trimmed. I brought a magazine clip of what I wanted. The salon owner(who was the stylist) and I agreed that I needed to trim about 2.5 inches off. Every thing in the salon is «a la carte», but didn’t know that before I got there for my appointment. If washing the hair was required to do a haircut, that would be an additional charge. My hair was clean but dry. The stylist sprayed it with water and proceeded to cut. Long story short: The style looked nothing like the magazine clipping, and I ended up with an uneven hair cut. One side is like two inches shorter than the other. That means that about 4 inches were chopped off from one side. I also wanted the roots on the sides of my face touched up. The stylist suggested I retouched the roots of my half head. I thought that would take care of the problem, but he didn’t even touched the part that I wanted touched up. I guess he wanted to «repeat business» of me getting back there. There was nothing else to do regarding the haircut, so i didn’t tell them anything about it. I simply will NEVER go there again. They are very nice and sweet, though, but at the end of the day, I’ve nothing to do but wait for the shortest side of my hair to grow a little before I go for a fix up hair cut. I gave them one star just so I could write a negative review, which I hate doing. Very disappointed :-(

If you want to get a decent haircut, color, manicure etc. at a reasonable rate, this is the place. The Cutting Room has no frills at all. It is basic and largely services people who live in the North Bay Village area. The Cutting Room is every bit as good as any high end salon but without the attitude and the expensive décor. The staff are wonderful. Kevin is the owner and he is always there. They know their stuff and it shows. You’re taking care of the minute you arrive in — never any delays. Plenty of parking available right outside the salon. I’m always happy when I leave!

I went in for an emergency appointment for a manicure and pedicure at first the atmosphere did not match the location of the salon. The cutting room lives up to their name because the manicurist over cut my cuticles and was very unsanitary. On top of experience I am not cheap but they were overpriced for what they offered me. The staff was very nice but I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I went back to get the top of my head(the area by the parting) touched up with some highlights and lowlights. The brochure said highlights and lowlights $ 60 and up, top of head $ 60. Kevin mixed up two basins of his potion and put around 15 or so foils in, alternating from highlight to lowlight and back. When he took the foils off and blew part of it dry, it looked great. So I come to pay the bill and he says«that will be $ 120», I’m thinking, «hang on a minute, the top of my head in your brochure says $ 60», so I asked him. He told me it was $ 60 for highlights and $ 60 for lowlights, what a ripoff. I can get my hair done on Lincoln Road for $ 90 with more foils and including both high and lowlights. I forked over the $ 120 and tipped him $ 25 because he had done a good job, although not a lot of my head had been done, literally just the top. I may go back for a trim, that was fine, but to pay high end salon prices for a(very) partial highlight job is a complete joke. Plus the lowlights have now faded to a rather brassy color which I am going to have to go back to my old colorist to fix. I’m taking a star away, not so much because the color work didn’t stay true after three weeks, but because I think charging $ 60 each for highlights and lowlights is sleazy and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Cheap shot. Go for a cut by all means, they are called The Cutting Room after all, but ask first about the color if you are going for that, because maybe if I’d challenged him, he might have come down in price. I wish I had..
