The food is just really average. I’ve tried them a couple of times just to try a few different things and I just kept finding everything average. The prices pretty much match the average nature of the food also. Nothing really too positive or negative to report.

Excellent pizza my whole family orders at least once a week, I have to say I get the Brazilian roll up and it’s probably the best sandwich I have ever had .
Just wish it was closer to my house.

It took them an hour and a half (I live in North Andover, about a 6 minute drive from Captains) to deliver my Pizza and fries and when the delivery driver got here there were no fries. I told the driver to forget the fries because I did not want to wait another 90 minutes.
The pizza was cold, so bad I had to put it in my oven. And to top it off, I got extremely sick, as did my Mother, after eating it. Terrible.

I have eaten here almost daily for several years. The salad with grilled chicken (or steak tips) is excellent and the salad dressing (I think it’s homemade) is fantastic.
Pizza, calzones, subs… all great. Everyone that works there is really nice and friendly. I feel like I am in a «Cheers» episode when I walk in the door!

Mediocare food at this pizza joint. Good for when you don’t have much money and you have been drinking all night. But not much else. I guess the only good thing I can say about it is the delivery service isn’t bad.

Hello Captain,
I haven’t had the nerve to talk to you directly so I’m sending you a Unilocal message. One of your guys makes a great calzone. Our family loves it. But you have another guy who makes the worst calzone on the planet. Our last spinach and feta calzone was disgusting with rubbery feta, spinach stems instead of leaves, watery sauce which created a soggy and uncooked crust. Please let me be clear, it was not undercooked but completely uncooked crust. Disgusting and inedible.
Please don’t let Guy #2 ever make another calzone. Thank you.

The upside: pretty good deals when you order more than one item. Good subs, pizza is pretty tasty, staff is okay.
The downsides: the parking lot is absolutely horrid, and by horrid I mean it’s in the BACK of this AWFUL combo building that also somehow houses a few other restaurants/​food places, and a giant Dunkin Donuts Drive Thru, and the only way out is to go around the back and right past/​through the Drive Thru. Maybe it’s just me but I DON’T GET IT! We don’t go here often, like only for Super Bowl when they have awesome deals but otherwise we will go elsewhere.
I guess basically they have good food, and at a reasonable price but it’s not worth the total mess of a parking lot.

So, ordered a pizza and soda from this place. The pizza showed up after an hour (I was in Andover) and it was cold. The soda’s didn’t show up and the delivery boy didn’t know what to charge us because of that. The pizza is over priced for what it is.
Just go to your freezer section and pick up a frozen one, not much of a difference.

When I called to place my order, I could barely understand the guy. He just wasn’t speaking up. I, on the contrary, was projecting my voice. Yet he couldn’t understand me until I repeated everything three or four times.
That was just a minor annoyance. It got bad when he promised that the pizza would be delivered in 30 – 40 minutes and it took over an hour.
The delivery guy finally arrived. He charged me $ 19. The menu said the pizza cost $ 13.50. We ordered two sodas. OK… expensive sodas? Unfortunately, the sodas were not delivered. We questioned the guy and he tossed $ 4 back at me.
The pizza was cold.
In conclusion, ordering from Captain Pizza is not a good way to thank your girlfriend for doing something nice for you.

This is one of my husband’s favorites– the schwarma is the best he can get in the area. For a vegan though, the food is just… average. And that’s when they pay attention and remember you said «No Cheese» Six times. The veggie pizza is still the best I’ve found around the area, but it’s still not remotely what it could be.
Every experience I’ve had here is different– some times, the food is spot on (like the veggie Calzone), and other times it’s a huge disappointment (their falafel leaves a lot to be desired) and yet others, it’s just average.
If you are looking for cheap, fast mediterranean food (like the schwarma and falafel) this is the great, if not your only, choice. Other then that, it’s not worth the time for hit or miss food.

After a day of driving and not wanting to cook as BOTH the Sox and the Celtics were to begin playing within minutes of each other, I didn’t want to be in the kitchen when I could have been in front of the tube. I stopped here to see if the pie was any good. I had past Captain Pizza for a few years now and last night I finally stopped by for the first time. The employees were nice, more cordial than pleasant. However, my pie didn’t reflect this. I ordered the California with salami… WOW! I was amazed by the taste and quality of this pie! I ate the whole thing and I don’t normally do such a thing! I think it has a lot to do with me not expecting much… I’ll let you know after the next pie!

About an hour later, a car filled with 35 steaming pizzas of average taste (but excellent turn around time) delivers said pizza pies to 60 screaming, cry baby, adults who have been kept from food for 30 minutes too long.
Saved my life.
