As an East coast girl with a New Yorker for a mother, I’m a little(a lot) picky about my pizza. This place is hands down the BESTFREAKINGPIE I’ve had since I’ve moved here. The slices are the size of a small child and the quality rivals any pizza joint in NYC I’ve been to. We like it well done, keeps the crust just crisp enough to hold up to the gooey cheese and sauce.

Been going here since they opened. Had two really bad experiences with the cooks who put meat on my veggie pizza and then after I took it back, they took off the pepperoni and ran it through the oven again… so then it was swimming in pepperoni juice and also burned. I don’t eat meat. Nice. New owner/manager possibly now, but last time I went(about 3 weeks ago) the bartender guy(it used to be a woman bartender back in the day) was charging us for every other pitcher of beer, but not even behind the bar most of the time bc he was playing on his cell and talking to some girl, so it was very inconvenient to even try to order a drink. It’s the«I give you discounted/free drinks so tip me big scam». Check your alcohol inventory please, you are getting stolen from unfortunately. Tried to go back 2 weeks ago and even though it says«open till 3am» they were closed at 9:45pm on a Friday night lol. Again! Now the bartender has sent three angry emails to me after being called out. Sorry, but I saw what I saw. Dude, why are you threatening me online if you didn’t do anything wrong??? Busted.

We got to town late and were happy to learn we could still eat something decent. They serve pizza by the slice but offered and actually encouraged us to order a whole pizza. We had an extra large pizza with half chicken Alfredo half beef/pepperoni. It was amazing. The cheese was soo good! The waitress was cheerful and sincere and the young cook very helpful. The pizza was huge(fed 3 adults and 3 teens) and my husband had a small salad that would have been three salads anywhere else. All of that was only $ 24! We will definitely eat here again if we ever get back to Norman.

I ate here twice while attending a conference. I’m not normally a fan of this style of pizza, because it *can* fall apart in your hands and be very greasy. However, this place has tasty, sturdy crust, and the toppings are good. I like that they routinely have more than one kind of vegetarian pizza on offer when you’re purchasing by-the-slice. I ordered an eggplant parmigiana sandwich that was underwhelming. The bread got soggy, and the flavor of the eggplant was swamped by the flavor of the sauce. So just stick to the pizza. They *could* work on ambiance, but then maybe it wouldn’t be as authentic(?). The staff is friendly. I wish the slices were cheaper. But that won’t keep me away if I’m ever in town again.

The last time I went to New York, I ate quite a bit of pizza while I was there. New York City seems to have a New York pizza place on every street corner. They all seemed really the same to me, and I enjoyed the experiences. This New York Pizza & Pasta in Norman seems to be a good recreation of that model. It is a completely different style and price than some other pizza places. I have no opinion of the place as a bar as I’ve only eaten there at lunch. I do enjoy eating a couple slices of this affordable New York pizza from time to time.

Really surprised how good the food was. We found they had some delicious Italian dishes besides pizza. The chicken sunrise was mouth watering. We will go back soon. If you like Italian you must try this place. They also have a full bar.

Gave this place a try and sad to say, but very disappointed. We ordered and Stromboli and tort Alfredo. Both were very flavorless and non appetizing. The same can’t be said for the marinara sauce. The marinara was overwhelmed by garlic and so potent, it was nearly inedible. A few bites in and the entire meal went in the trash. As if this weren’t enough, the order was placed at 7:06PM and the food wasn’t delivered until 8:25PM. Bummer… We had high hopes

I’m from K.C. but I come down to O.K.C and Norman often because I love to watch the O.U. Sooners play football. On game days I always go to New York Pizza and Pasta. On game days the line is huge but it is all worth it. They give you these giant slices of cheese, pepperoni, hamburger, supreme, and basically every flavor of pizza you can think of. They also have huge TVs so you can keep up on all the games while you are in line. Usually we eat the pizza outside because all of the tables are full, but on weekdays there is usually room to sit. This is amazing pizza. Period.

Mmmmm what else can you really say about pizza?! The staff is nice, they toast the slice for ya so it’s hot and fresh. I’m typically not a fan of NY style but I love this place. Great lunch specials. The crust is crunchy but light. It’s just really good all around!

Classic Campus Corner pizza joint that has evolved over the years. My most recent visit was on a Thursday evening before school was back in. Even without class, there were still about a half dozen tables seated. My son and I went with slices, I had supreme and sausage. The supreme is really weighed down with toppings, it was difficult to eat without a knife and fork. But, the toppings were flavorful and the veggies crisp. The crust wasn’t crunchy at all, which is one of my favorite things about thin crust pizza. I was hoping that this was due to all of the toppings weighing it down, but when I ate the sausage, I encountered the same issue. That is why I have to give New York Pizza 3 stars, if their crust had that typical crunch I’d give 4 stars. The slices are large and come out fairly quickly, so that’s good. Service was fantastic, everyone was very friendly and we were asked a couple of times if we needed anything. The bar is large and has a typical beer list. Nothing that will surprise you. It’s a solid joint and like I said, a Campus Corner institution, but you can certainly get better pizza in Norman.

Eh. Being born and raised in NY this place is nothing special. Granted i live in oklahoma now but i go home to NYC3 times a year and let me say, if this place was in Brooklyn or Manhattan then they would not last long. The food is average nothing special. The only thing keeping them in business is the student population on campus. Personally i believe once Sandro sold the place it went down hill and fast. The staff is not personable, there is a language barrier with the cooks, crumbs on every table garbage on the floor. Just your average hole in the wall mediocre pizza joint. If you are lucky they will get your order right! Otherwise be prepared to eat what ever their staff thought you said you ordered.

Very good and very casual atmosphere! We had a chicken Caesar salad which was good but had way too much dressing… I will ask for dressing on the side next time. And a large(very large!) sausage and Canadian bacon pizza. The sauce is really good and my hubby loves the crust!

When my husband and I first moved here, we decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed. The pizza was hot, had flavor and the crust wasn’t hard or burnt. The second time we ordered pizza from them it was perfect, then… I don’t know what happened. When we ordered pizza the following time, it was burnt, had no flavor and was cold, we called and complained about the pizza, they sent a second one out and it was perfectly done. After that each pizza has been horrible. We decided to try the pasta and we were not impressed with that either. The sauce for the Chicken Alfredo was pretty lumpy. Oh, and cannot forget the time we called and placed an order(before we got bad pizzas) and was told it would be delivered in about an hour. An hour and a half passed and we called and they had not even made the pizza yet. Another hour passed and still no pizza. They never showed with the pizza and the person didn’t tell us that they were closed and not delivering pizza until after 5pm. I think it is a pretty bad way to run a business. I have not been back since.

Best pizza, grate cheese steaks & hoagies! The food does the name justice, this is east coast pizza & subs! Being from Philly it’s hard to find a good slice or cheesesteak. This is the go to place for amazing east coast food! 100 Stars!

The BEST pizza in Norman– possibly the metro! Pastas are with a try. Cheese tortellini is my favorite!

What’s going on? Please tell me it was an off day. The two kids working behind the counter seemed to have partied a bit too hard the night before. Although the pizza and cheese bread were really good, they were not amazing. Scratch that… two off days. Please tell me I have had two random experiences not typical of the fabulous New York Pizza…

I’ve honestly been choosing pizza from New York Pizza & Pasta over Hideaway lately. I really like their thin crust pizzas. The slices are big, they have a wide variety of toppings, the prices are reasonable and it always tastes good. My understanding is that they’re under new ownership and the people are really nice. They went out of their way to help us make our selections, give us extras of this and that for free and even asked for honest opinions about our cocktails, offering to redo them(new bartender). They’re also quick on call-in to go orders. They have the best well selection and premium prices on Campus Corner. They were also nice enough to let us buy just the dough from them for grilling our own pizzas, which most places won’t do anymore. The only negative thing, which other reviewers mentioned, is that they don’t stick to their hours in the summer. If it isn’t busy, they will close whenever they want, regardless of what the posted hours are.

this is pretty authentic new york pizza. definitely the best you’ll find in norman. i’ve gone here for over 10yrs and have never been disappointed. they stick to the basics and do it right. pepperoni, sausage, cheese are my go to slices. you can go by the slice or order a pizza. they serve beer(go with pitchers) and have tv, so it’s a good place to catch the game with friends. lots of pasta dishes. the lasagna is a great option for something other than pizza. salads are ok. owner has been the same as long as i’ve been going and is a super nice italian guy. he actually owns sandro’s on main across from norman high school, so if you go there expect the same thing. used to have more of a divey atmosphere but they remodeled a few years back so it’s a little bit nicer. definitely a must if you’re visiting norman and want some pizza.
