I couldn’t remember why I(after 1 visit here w/my family a year or so ago), didn’t want to eat here again. But was QUICKLY reminded why, I’m giving the food a rating of 3 stars. That’s it!!! Was it good? Yeah it was fine. No complaints… But… But… The service was straight up shitty!!! Just like last time I was here. Sat there for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged that I was thirsty, just like last year, and what is up with the pulling my dirty looking hair up in a bun half ass? Have some pride in your appearance ladies. If I could give negative stars for appearance and service. I would. Food was fine, not great, not awesome, just fine. Go to chelinos, Teds, or my awesome favorite in Norman Mamaveca… Only reason I came here was cause Torchys Tacos was out the door. And I was in mood for this type of food. That is all. Good day.(water tasted straight out of the tap btw)

Mexican is my favorite food. I’ve eaten a lot a lot of Tex Mex and this is by far the worst I’ve ever had. Underwhelming flavor, which was covered up by an excess of spice, too greasy, dried out, and the tortillas are beyond rubbery. Why are the beans sweet? The chips were the only good thing about this place.

QUESO. IS. LIFE. Like, you cannot go to Chuys and not get the queso. It’s got a nice spicy bite to it. Listen, if you’re going to eat here, wear your stretchy pants. It’s delicious Tex mex, smothered in all sauces and cheese. I’m not a huge fan of the salsa, it’s more like a pico but I enjoy the surprise jalapeño seed that makes my eyes water lol. The jalapeño ranch is a fun new addition to dip your chips in, because that’s normal right? Right. The Chuychanga is a giant chimichanga. Can’t go wrong. The chile relleno is also delicious. My fav is prob the chicka boom boom enchiladas! A creamy spicy sauce with pulled chicken and FRESHTORTILLAS. Hear me people. They make fresh corn and flour tortillas and that makes all the difference. I’ve also had the chicken salad, or southwest salad or something and it was great but no one really comes here for the salads lol. I don’t know why there is only one in Norman and Tulsa, not OKC. I’m just glad I moved to a town after Dallas that had one! Great. Now I want queso.

Outstanding! My wife and I regularly visit for their Macho burrito, quesadillas, enchiladas and wonderful queso. (note: they charge extra for the queso and it’s totally worth it) Be warned: The food is seasoned and has heat to it.(unlike Ted’s, Tarahamuras and other BLAND places we have eaten before) Mexican food is meant to have FLAVOR. Ironically, the least spicy thing on the menu is the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce, which I dip and pour everything with because it’s delightful. Their handmade flour tortillas are insanely delicious and are complementary if you order them with your meal. The service has always been outstanding, ever since our first time there. They have kooky décor and a history with Elvis, as well as several menu items.(such as the Elvis fried chicken, crusted with crushed potato chips) T-shirts are available to buy at the front with random pop culture references they associate themselves with. Some are downright hilarious. This is currently my favorite restaurant to visit. If you go on Saturdays, you can order pulled pork. (I really just don’t know how they make it, but it’s the greatest pulled pork we’ve ever had)

The food here is a horrible disgrace to the term Mexican food. Twelve of us ate here after traveling in from out of town and all 12 of us didn’t care for the food. You can probably do better cooking Tex Mex yourself.

This place is awful. I’m surprised they even have 3 stars. I’ve also been to Chuy’s in Austin and it was just as bad. I think their food is tasteless and isn’t authentic whatsoever. Also when my fiancé and I went here there were flys all over the place. It was disgusting. The only positive thing about this place was he tres leches cake. But get it to go so you don’t have to endure the maggot infested atmosphere.

My mother and I went there for the first time this week and it had some good points but mostly bad. Lets start with the good. The strawberry-tini was pretty good and for $ 12 you get a decent amount. This is a strawberry margarita served in a shaker with a martini glass. Regardless what they call it, it was tasty. The waitress was awesome. She was very attentive but not annoying. The salsa was good with a fresh flavor. That’s where the good stops. I ordered the #1 and my mom the #2. It tasted like a frozen dinner that was microwaved. The flautas and guacamole had no flavor. Absolutely terrible. About half way through I began to feel sick and tapped out. My mother was able to finish her meal but became ill within 5 minutes of finishing. I really wanted to like this place but there has to be more than just great service and cheap drinks.

I really wanted Ted’s next door, but the wait was twice as long. That may have skewed how I enjoyed Chuys; it just wasn’t as good. 1. Chips/Salsa set up: we had three people and they just brought us one small bowl of salsa. I asked for the set up where we each have our own bowls and the waiter seemed to act like I was crazy. No quest came with the standard set up or tortillas. 2. Entrée: I split the combo fajitas with my boyfriend. The chicken and beef was cooked perfectly, but overall the food was pretty bland. I really like spicy food, and I wish you could pick a spice level at Mexican food places like you can at Thai places. I asked for jalepenos. The ones they brought me were basically like pickles with no heat. The food seemed good quality and fresh. The toppings for the fajitas were all really nice looking. But nothing was spiced well. Even the guacamole seemed to be just fresh mashed avocado with no seasoning. I can see how some people would like it, but I just wish they would give spicy food lovers some fresh hot peppers to make everything more tasty.

Chuys is a great place for Tex mex. I love their creamy jalapeño sauce and their baja fish tacos. The staff is very friendly, you get seated and served pretty quickly. We always enjoy getting to go eat here.

Horrible service, managers, and food. Got all of our food wrong, when we asked for the corrections they were rude and hateful, naturally we asked for a manger, he wasn’t any better. It took us an hour to get our«correct» food and it was STILL wrong. And on top of that, the food wasn’t even tasteful! Horrible.

This restaurant has a little different twist on Tex-Mex. I had the slow-roasted pork enchiladas and my server warned me about the«heat» of the sauce so I ordered a milder sauce on the side. If you like spicy food, the pork enchiladas are for you. I don’t much care for too much spice so I didn’t finish my meal, but it did have a good flavor(just too spicy). The queso was very good and the chips were made fresh(no bagged chips here). The original salsa was also very good and they have a variety of other salsas to order as well. The service was excellent and the restaurant has a really fun atmosphere. I will most certainly go back, I will just be careful to order something not so spicy. :-)

Second time eating here at Chuy’s Still fun as ever with great margaritas. I ordered an Elvis plate and it was humongous.(See pic) The only negative I have is that the purple corn tortillas are a little bit on the tough side when served. The regular corn tortillas for their enchiladas were soft and perfect. This is based on two times eating here with the same experience. Now on the other hand, OMG, is the tortilla soup. It was unbelievably good. I’ll go back to this restaurant for sure just to have their tortilla soup.

Very good food and great service. Wish they were on the east coast. Had a bloody Maria that was super. Hard taco was delicious.

It is a Friday night but this service sucks! Maybe it’s because we are sitting in the patio section? Our waiting is super nice and very informative when it comes to the menu! They may just need more staff…

we went to chuy’s with a very large group {45} during a conference in OKC. the service was perfect, the waitstaff was patient & had all of our food out in a timely manner. I ordered 2 enchiladas {one tex-mex cheese with onions & the other beef with creamy jalapeño sauce} they were extra delicious. the chips & salsa tasted fresh & were always full. definitely worth a try the next time you are close to one!

Awful food. I order a meal with chicken in it and ended up chomping down on a bone! I asked them for something else and they took the plate back. They were very nice about it. And the manager came out to check. They also comped the meal with the chicken bone which was good. But that really wasn’t even the issue. The food is SO bland. It simply has no flavor to it at all. It is fairly highly priced for what you are getting. And the food made all of us sick. So unless your looking to lose weight quick, best to move on and try something else.

I love it here! My boyfriend’s mother is one of the cooks(she makes the sauces, beans, etc.) and we love visiting her! She makes the food taste so wonderful. Chuy’s definitely has its own signature taste(unlike El Chico’s…or any other mainstream Tex-Mex restaurant for that matter) that I just can’t get out of my head! We always leave a good tip for our waitress, they’re always so sweet and happy to serve us. One poor girl spilled ranch all over herself and was only concerned if it had gotten on us– which it hadn’t!- how sweet! Anywho, I urge you to try Chuy’s. I love the food and rarely enjoy any Tex-Mex restaurants. Get the queso! It’s amazing.

I love green chilies, and this is the closest thing we have to that cuisine in the area for dinner. My friends and I LOVE going to the happy hour nacho bar, and when I go for dinner, I try to sit outside on the patio. For some reason, I’m always drawn to the stacked enchiladas. It’s close to what I make at home, but much easier because I don’t have to clean up after. I know that large groups like to come here, but I like to avoid those peak times because it makes everybody happier.

Some of these reviews are way to critical! We are from Texas. Stopping through this food is awesome! I got the Tex Mex enchiladas with quest instead of the chili sauce! Service was outstanding! We will be back!

The interior is kind of random. It’s like Guy Fieri and Elvis decided to open a restaurant together. Palm trees… Diner looking chairs and booths. Not at all what I was expecting for a Tex Mex place, but it gave it character! I guess it has to set itself apart from it’s neighbor– Ted’s Escondido. The place was dead at 4pm on a Sunday. An hour goes by and the place was packed! I felt the menu had a wide variety of dishes. I split the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken with their signature green chili special rice and beans. The outer crust of the chicken was coated with Lay’s potato chips and lent a suttle crunchiness. It was different. I didn’t care for the rice, but gave it a try because the man zone said it’s real good. Queso is tasty. Salsa is very limey. Chips = thin and crispy. Flour tortillas are fluffy and taste much better warm.
