Every time we go we always get a really terrible waitress that has no interest in being there and we always have to flag someone down to get a refill on our drinks. Our waitress is usually at the end of the bar chatting it up with other waitresses the entire time, never fails. Good thing we love their food! Great sandwiches! I get the Shelly’s Special every time now, it’s got thin sliced white turkey breast, avocado slices, cream cheese, alfalfa sprouts, and mayo. It’s the best.

I can’t say enough how much I love bisons! Their green turkey sandwich with the potato soup bowl is out of this world good! I’ve been frequenting this place since childhood and the food has always steady stayed the same. They also have great drink specials.

God where do I start? We went in and the place was empty, only 1 man getting a to go order. We sat and looked at the menu. A couple other tables came in. We placed our order. A 3rd party came in. We got our drinks… and we watched the other 3 tables get their food and eat… at one point the waitress came by and could tell I was aggregated and said«your food should be up shortly»(after 30 minutes I’d hope so) 10 minutes later it came out. I’m almost positive she just turned in out ticket after she said that. 40 minutes. For a couple turkey sandwiches and a pb&j kids meal. Not to mention my glass stayed empty for 15 minutes while she took refills to the other tables when their glasses were half full still. I don’t know why she avoided our table. This was the first time in my life i actually debated on not leaving a tip at all.(I ended up leaving 15% because I am a nice person but seriously I probably shouldn’t have) that being said… our food was good when we finally got it. Too bad though because we will never go back.

Thought the soup was good, the macaroni salad was good but the sooner sandwich I didn’t care for the roast beef on it otherwise might have been ok. All in allot was a good place for lunch.

Horrible food, horrible service, and they don’t even have bison meat? This place is a joke, the garage or boot camp are much better alternatives. The wait staff here was highly unprofessional.

Stopped in this little place for lunch on my way out of Norman. It’s right in the center of town surrounded by other restaurants, but my friend recommended here! We walked in and were able to get a table right away. Our waitress stopped by and we ordered a Bloody Mary & a PBR. Drinks arrived shortly and then we both order the lunch combos– bread bowl of soup, half sandwich and chips. I ordered the bacon potato soup and it was amazing! The bread bowl was soft bread and the soup was nice and warm, it was really delicious! For the sandwich I ordered the CAB and added cheese, it was the perfect size and again delicious, and I opted for the jalapeño chips. The combo was served on a tray, no plates here. The portion size was perfect, kept me full for the day! The atmosphere was dive /dark bar feel, with both booth and table seating. Recommend this spot for a quick bite or soup to help with hangovers or colds!

Stopped in for a quick lunch with the family on a Sunday. Good amount of food for the price. I ordered half a Stormin’ Norman with an Irish Coffee. The restaurant wasn’t very busy so we had quick and attentive service. My mother thought the water tastes funny but everyone else thought it was fine. What does she know? ;) Overall it was a good experience and they have karaōke on Wednesday. I’ll be back.

When I first got my soup/salad combo both my and my friend’s soups were lukewarm with a more putty-like then soup-like texture. Then I noticed there was hair in my soup. Human hair. Strands(multiple) of them. The waitress was apologetic, but I overheard her talking to her manager who just could not care less. They comped the price of the soup but the manager, who looked like she was wearing pajamas, probably should have apologized to us and should have gone and talked to the cooks about their cleanliness/throwing out the soup/something. She stayed at the bar and watched the Thunder game. The soup, to my knowledge, was not thrown out. Just wanted to warn everyone.

Best soup in town: especially broccoli cheddar and potato. While this is a fairly expensive place to get a sandwich, they do have good food. Personally I don’t like having a lot of meat on a sandwich so I get the veggie. Always fresh and toasted to perfection! Coworkers and I come here about once a month and they have never once messed up our food so it’s worth coming back to!

Last time I was here(before today) was when I was an undergrad attending the university of Oklahoma which was 5 – 7 years ago. The taste has not changed at all which was a relief! They have couple of options here. There’s obviously the whole sandwich with a side or you have do half soup half salad. Half soup half sandwich and I’m not sure but I’m sure you can do half sandwich half salad too. I got the miss priss or something. It had white turkey, alfalfa sprouts, tomatos, lettuce and they homemade honey mustard. So the honey mustard isn’t as sweet as most places. Here is a bit more mustard like and it added an interesting taste with each bite. Some may need to get used to it. For my half soup(no such think as a half soup I think since it looked like a full amount) I got the creamy potato and bacon soup. All of their soup(I think) comes in their own bread bowl(white bread) which is a nice touch. I would come back but I live by the will Rogers airport and I just came to show an underclass man places to eat in Norman but excellent place to eat lunch and it’s all less than 10 $!

This was awesome! We have a Sooner Senior and a Freshman and drove from Maryland and this was perfect for the end of the trip. We had 3 of the half sandwich and bread bowl soup combos. Great deal. Great food. Great service. Had Beef and Brie, the Slamwich, the Pistola, and the Sooner sandwiches and broccoli cheddar, portobello harvest grain, and potato and bacon bread bowl soups. We kept eating off each other’s plates because each one was better than the other!

$ 30BUCKSDOWNTHEDRAIN!!! This place was really good, but now it’s AWFUL!!! My coworker and I ordered the sandwich/soup combo meals. Sandwiches(sooner and CAB) were burnt, and the soup(potato) was so thick you can eat it with a fork. Better yet, you can tip the bowl over, and none of it would come out. The only thing that was relatively appealing was the bread bowl, but it was not good either. Very disappointed. Go spend your money on better quality food elsewhere.

I’ve given this place a try twice. Both times the service was awful. Young girls who think they’re way too good for everyone. Very rude. FIrst time I got a sandwich and soup. Both were okay, nothing great. Second time I got a salad and sandwich. Sandwich was flavourless. Salad was warm because it had been left under the heat lamp for so long. Lettuce was warm and wilted. Both times I felt extremely unwelcome and the food wasn’t very good. Won’t be going back.

Got the sandwich/soup duo, went with the«Sooner» sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. Both were good, the overall feel and décor of the place make for a hip spot in Norman’s cool little downtown.

We’ve been going here for years. It’s always a great sandwich, and the salads are huge. The booths are a little worn, but for lunch, it’s perfect. Not too crowded, quick, good soups. That bread!

The half sandwich and soup is the way to go if you’re not a fatty. There are plenty of diverse savory choices in a slightly heavier way than Café Plaid(which is my personal preference). The service is okay but twice now I’ve inquired about the beer or daily special and the servers didn’t know. That’s completely unsat.

Love the vibe of this place. Reminds me of a relaxed joint you’d hit up after a day of skiing in Summit County. Most everything I’ve had has been delicious, but nothing beats the potato soup. Even if it’s a blazing 100 degree Oklahoma day, I’m still gonna get the potato soup — it’s just that good. Make sure you try this place out at lunch time, as the half /half special is a steal for the quality and price. My only knock is the cookie — a place that can crank out food this good can surely serve up something better than a pre-packaged Grandma’s Cookie. Side note: the iron artwork on the wall is pretty slick, and to be honest, slight trippy.

Getting harder to make excuses for these guys. Waitress didn’t greet us because she was too busy sitting at the bar visiting. Didn’t see us come in. So we sat and waited. Loud drunks at the bar. Again. 720pm on a Sunday. Hollering, being annoying. We just tries to avoid their attention. What does the bartender do? Serves them another round of shots. We were wanting to get out of there ASAP. So we got our food quickly. It was tasty, but not even as good as a month or so ago. And them I found about an eight inch hair in the potato salad side, which was a dollar up charge. Unfortunately, I found it in my mouth. I would have said something to a manager, but there was no one who appeared to be a manager. This place is in disrepair. It has no standards apparently. Very little in the way of staffing. No proper protocol for drunks. I am about to stop coming. Been coming for over a decade… but I just can’t handle the yelling 40yo drunks, no management, no desire to be good. Oh, and hair. Don’t prefer hair.

As a first time customer I found this place, as a hang out spot was, not for me. I am not use to bars and pubs, which this is. It was very loud inside with loud music and there was a loud mic going on with a dj who was asking trivia questions to the customers(college kids) inside. I read reviews on how good their sandwiches and soup was and that was the reason why I went there. After wandering around where I was to order for take out, because I didn’t want to sit down and eat, I went up to order and got my sandwich and soup within 8 mins. The sandwich was AMAZING! I got my soup which was more of a chowder consistency. Over all the food was pretty good but the overall scene just wasn’t for me so I give this place a solid 3 stars
