After wanting to go here for about a year, I finally did. Boy, am I glad I did. They have jams, jellies, honeys, preserves, pie in jars, hams, pulled porm and bacon. This place is wonderful. Im from West Virginia and it was nice to see a place around here that has been around 60 years! The lady was so polite. The blushing peach jam was fantastic. This is a must go. but bring losts of money. Prices arent bad for jams and jellies, but, the bacon is 10.99

Not sure why it took so long for us to stop in here. We were just going to grab some country ham for some ham rolls for dinner, but once we got in there and started looking around, it turns out we also needed a BBQ sandwich to tide us over(funny how that happens sometimes). The sandwich is small, but delicious. Get it as suggested with slaw and hot sauce. I think the sandwich is about $ 2, but you can also get the BBQ itself for like $ 6 a pound. That will be happening soon enough. The country ham was fantastic, btw. we made the aforementioned ham rolls with some Boars Head honey mustard and Kings Hawaiian rolls, and had some left that I used for ham and cheese omelets. As Tawny said, «quaint, old fashioned fun!»

Franco C. said it right. Pork and pork products. That pretty much sums it up. I feel like it was a Virginia right of passage to go to a ham shop. I’m not really a meat eater and I don’t really do ham but that didn’t stop me from buying awesome souvenirs and a little bacon! I think this place is great to bring out of towners too. It’s quaint, old fashioned fun!

Pork and pork products. Did you ever watch the Simpson’s where Krusty the Klown drools over pork? That would be me in this place… I’ll have to remember that though when I’m on a gurney waiting for a bypass someday… In any case, this place specializes in — well pork. Hams and bacons in every permutation you can think of: cooked, uncooked, with and without bones, sliced, smoked, sugared, salt cured and whatever else there may be. Grab yourself a cured bacon in a cloth sack and you’ll saunter out of there feeling like a settler from the colonial days — hack off a few slices, fry it up and after the initial chest pains subside you’ll agree that these are some really good bacons… salty as all hell, but sooo good… They also do a mail order business in the event you do not want to drive 6 hours to your doom… Parking lot.
