Cal’z Pizza

We ordered 50 mild wings (mild=bbq), mozzarella sticks and fried dough. My husband loved the wings and gave them a 10! I do not eat wings and can not rate them. The mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce were edible but not good by any means. I ordered the fried dough because everyone was saying how good it was. This was one of the worst desserts I have ever had. This was sitting in a puddle of grease and was flavorless. I was hoping it tasted like zeppole, which is like 100 times better! I will say delivery was fast and food was hot. The wings are the only thing to come here for. The wings arrive hot and crispy!

The nostalgia of the place is all too real. I’ve been going to here since I was a little boy. Funny, it used to look a lot bigger back in the day, so I guess that’s how I can tell I’ve really grown up.
Their pizza is not what you’re normally used to if you’re mostly familiar with the taste of pizza hut and dominoes, because the pizza here has more of an acquired taste. Once you get used to the difference in flavor though, it is mighty delicious. Their subs, wings, and curly fries are also all pretty good as well. All in all, this quiant little pizza chain is loved by locals all over Norfolk and Va Beach and it’s for a reason.
PS: Bring quarters so you can play some classic video games on their arcade machines while you wait for your food to be made.

So I heard how amazing Calz was so I figured we just moved here might as well try it because it’s literally right down the road. Well I wish I hadn’t even bothered. I ordered a large cheese pizza for myself & a large pepperoni for my partner & might I say they might as well should’ve put a sprinkle of cheese on the box it came in because that would’ve had almost the same effect. The pizza was very bland, not very cheesy even though I ordered & paid an extra several dollars for extra cheese, & I feel like when you have 4 drivers sitting down on their cellphones & two girls gossiping at the counter, the food should be amazing to make up for that. Highly disappointed in my visit. Maybe they had an off day that day, but it was bad enough I am avoiding every Calz in this area due to this one location.

Now I will say that the speed and attitude of the staff was fantastic… unfortunately the food doesn’t measure up. Worst pizza I’ve had in ocean view. I mean bland as hell. Never gonna order again. No flavor, light small toppings, stingy on cheese too. Just very unimpressed

I love the gyro but you should ask for it extra crispy for best flavor.
They are fast and accurate for the most part. The 2 for 9.99 is a great deal!
The pizza isn’t the best there but it’s cheap and the rest of the menu is pretty good.
Ps they are always open! Even snowed in they will deliver!

I am a frequent Calz customer. Always loved their food since I was a kid. Pizza is great, wings are delicious, and everything is pretty good too. Will always be one of my favorite pizza joints, local and chain.

I have no idea why people are giving this place such bad reviews. Our experience was great though! All we got was a pepperoni Calzilla and it was soooooooo good!!! Definitely our new fave pizza place:)

I love this calz, they have the best customer service me and my wife eat here all the time the food is amazing, especially the wings. We order online and they deliver it in a decent time, it’s just overall one of our local favorites.

Nothing seems fresh and everything has that watery canned food taste especially the mushrooms.

When It comes to pizza and wings, I come to Calz. They always had a special place in my heart since I was a teenager. I mostly order out from them, with no problems, yet when ever I go inside its dirty and looks like someone hasn’t cleaned in awhile. Overall for me, I give this place a 3 star.

Fresh ingredients? No, they have some fresh but not all ingredients are fresh. They use canned mushrooms. I ordered a supreme and it came without olives and green peppers. I will not eat there again.

I’ve eaten here before. Don’t order a salad from them unless you like iceberg lettuce. They are known for their hot wings and they get a 3 ½ out of 5. The service is so so. Restaurant is clean. Check your order before you leave. Overall the food is ok in a pinch.

Greasy and flavorless. This chain is apparently trying to rid themselves of being in business. Even the calzone which they take pride in making, was hardly edible. Sauce is water based and mozzarella is stale/​moldy. Overall rating better then instant microwaveable foods/​canned foods.

We’ve ordered delivery pizza from Calz Pizza several times, and it is consistently adequate. Of the three pizzerias on that corner, Calz is unquestionably the best.
We stopped in one day for buffalo wings — we called in the order as we walked around the neighborhood. When we got there to eat in, it took five minutes before anyone came to the counter to help us. The wings were a tiny bit overcooked, but would have been all right if they had not been swimming, drowning in the sauce.
We may order pizza from them again for delivery in a pinch, but it’s not our first choice. We’re definitely not getting wings from them again.

Good pizza and very good cheese steaks. Good neighborhood pizza joint.
