I ate here late Sunday morning for some breakfast. I heard about The Flying Biscuit Café from a couple of Unilocalers so I was curious to check it out. Located in a medium sized plaza that consists of mostly eateries, this spot is not hard to find off of Peachtree Parkway. This places seems to be popular, as it was packed and I had to wait in the outdoor patio area for about ten minutes before I was able to be seated. This is a breakfast and brunch café that closes in the middle of the afternoon. I ordered the Piedmont omelette with the creamy dreamy grits and biscuit. The omelette wasn’t as delicious as I hoped but was still edible. I didn’t like the large chunks of sausage that they put in there. The grits were outstanding though; better than I could ever make them. The biscuit wasn’t all that neither. It seemed like it lacked that richness taste to it. The waitresses were good overall although sometimes it is a bit difficult to get their attention. In their defense, however, the restaurant was pretty packed with customers so it’s no biggie. They did the best they could and were attentive to my needs. The prices of most entrees were not too insane. I hardly saw any dishes on there that were $ 20 or more. My dish cost about $ 12 and many of the entrees were around the $ 11-$ 20 range. Overall, a good but not necessarily great breakfast joint. However, this review is based off of one dish so don’t take this review for face value if you don’t want. If by chance that I will return, I will try something else off of the menu and when I do, I will update this review and change my rating accordingly.

I absolutely loved the breakfast here. Super affordable, great service and healthy, delicious food. There are a ton of vegan and vegetarian options here, as well as healthier southern traditional food. Biscuit($ 1.49) and a cup of chicken gravy($ 1.99) — this was the perfect portion size for me. Since I was in Georgia, I had to go for biscuits and gravy, but I didn’t want a full portion. The biscuit was light and buttery, the chicken gravy full of flavor without any grease. It was the perfect breakfast for the occasion — and not to mention, so cheap! Southern Style Biscuit Benedict($ 8.99) — huge portion, decided to sub out the grits for oven roasted potatoes, which were delicious. I’m allergic to traditional eggs(only organic won’t bother my stomach) so I couldn’t try this, but it looked amazing. The service, as we found to be the norm in Georgia, was amazing. So friendly and helpful.

Always crowded, because it’s always great! Sometimes service is slow but that’s okay, as a server I understand haha. The food makes up for any issues! I’ve had the California style omelet which was awesome, I got the home fries with it which in my opinion should be more crispy! I’ve also tried the biscuit eggs and gravy dish. The gravy is truly good, coming from someone who likes to make homemade sausage gravy. And the grits!!! Might be my favorite of the whole restaurant. I’ll be coming back soon to check out the bottomless mimosas!

good food and mediocre service. There was no one to greet us at the door and we ended up awkwardly standing there for about 5 minutes. And, it took about forever to get a waitress to take our order. Food then took another 30 minutes to show up. However, one perk was that the waitress did tell us about the deal they were having with a pay app. It takes about $ 18 off your check if you pay with the app. She walked us thru it which was great. Really quick and easy. Food is great at this location. I just dont think they have enough servers to help out.

Great food and service as usual. My friend and I used the TabbedOut and spent only $ 5 for our $ 20 tab. It was pretty amazing and we saved some money. I never felt happier eating out, besides the fact that Flying Biscuit is one of my favorite restaurants I go to on a regular. I’ll definitely be returning, probably next week.

We love this place. Order two coffees with cream on the side, plus water. I had the Stoup of the Day(beans & meat) & The Homemade Turkey Meatloaf Sandwich. Wife order The High Flyer Breakfast & one Oatmeal Pancake with Warm Peach Compote. Now this is the first time for us Oatmeal Pancake! Well that is one must try Pancake with that Warm Peach Compote, YUMMY. What we like of this establishment is the consistency of the food and atmosphere of the place & last the well attentive their servers are with their customers :-))

This is my first Flying Biscuit in Georgia, and it was pretty consistent with the ones I’ve been to in Charlotte, NC. The service was good and the food was still decent. Grits are out of this world, and the pancakes were tasty. I’ve always liked this place as a very casual breakfast place.

This was my first visit to this location, but the food was tasty and consistent with other locations I have tried. We went with a large group on a Saturday morning, which may not have been the best idea, but they were accommodating and handled the group well and with cheer(separate checks and all). The place was hopping, but there did not appear to be a wait for smaller tables. We did wait a bit for a spot to open up for our group. The breakfast bowl was a win — all the best parts of breakfast in one bowl! And fried green tomatoes — yes! The cappuccino hit the spot, as well. Great kids menu.

We’d been to the Flying Biscuit before and liked it, so worked it into our weekend plans when we returned to the Atlanta area. It was a Saturday morning. Very crowded; a party of 18 had just arrived.(We were six, plus an infant.) They took our number and promised to text when the table was ready, estimating about 20 minutes. We got a confirmation text right away. We wandered in and out of shops in the strip mall. About half an hour after our initial text, we gave up and went somewhere else for breakfast, reasoning that when we heard from them, we could tell them we had made other plans. They never texted us. It became something of a joke in the family: days later, someone would get a phone call and say, «Oh, look! It’s Flying Biscuit! Guess our table’s ready!» Based on this experience alone, I think one star is generous, but I remember our last meal there being pretty good, so I’m splitting the difference. However, I doubt we will return.

Grits are great rich and creamy. Prices are very affordable and not a long wait(5 – 7 mins) when to egg harbor in johns creek it was more people outside than are in the whole restaurant at flying biscuit. The eggs and chicken sausage were okay. The pumpkin pancake was good wish I would have as them not to put syrup on it. Overall 4 stars

My wife had visited Atlanta a couple years ago and talked about the Flying Biscuit, so maybe I had unrealistic expectations. But this place was just average to me. The service was really good. Our waitress was friendly and nice, and the staff all seemed to be smiling, which always makes for a good atmosphere. I just didn’t like my dish. I got the chicken pot pie. It just tasted slightly acidic, and the gravy was very thick. It didn’t taste like fresh gravy. I’m not sure what it was exactly about it, but I just didn’t enjoy the dish, and my stomach didn’t 100% agree with it for the rest of the day. Not sure I’d come back in the future(and it could have just been my dish choice), but thanks for the good service! Update: Business owner contacted me about my visit and was very inquisitive. So potentially, I just had a dish I didn’t like. I do appreciate and recognize that the owner seems to be on top of his restaurant and its customers’ responses, which usually means a well managed restaurant.

I love pancakes and in the past have been a big fan of flying biscuit but this experience sucked. I called in a to go order. I was told it would be 20 minutes. Ok, so I killed some time and then went to pick up my food. Long story short I had to wait an additional 20 minutes when I got there to get my food. The restaurant wasn’t crowded. There was maybe 15 people there so I don’t know why my order took so long. Also, as I sat at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for my food(after I called it in 20 minutes earlier so again it’s been 40 minutes) none of the staff recognized the extended amount of time I was waiting. As soon as I got in they had me paid for my food but no one followed up to make sure I got it. So I had to say something to two people about how long I had been waiting. Ok so I finally get my food and go home and the oatmeal pancake is really pale, like it looks a little under cooked. So after all that waiting my food wasn’t even good.. I likely won’t visit this location again.

I got the garden fresh egg scramble it was an explosion of deliciousness in my mouth. And the grits are the best grits in the south. And the biscuit… Too good. Take all my money TFB Con. Service was super slow. But food is too good for me to be mad.

Wow, their pancakes are amazing. It’s nothing like I have tried before. It’s slightly crispy and has a unique taste. Try it. The Hollywood(which is an egg white omelette) was good but slightly burnt on the inside. It comes with some tomato based sauce that was pretty good. The fruit was fresh and the biscuit was pretty good as well. The grits that came with the High Flyer tastes like straight up butter. Not my thing. The service was very friendly and everyone was attentive and helpful. The design was that of grandma’s kitchen. They had some tacky table covers and exotic local art pieces. The color scheme reminds me of Punky Brewster. Obviously these were intentional design themes. Overall, it was a great breakfast experience.

Came to Atlanta for a couple days and we wanted to try something with a nice brunch menu. I had the biscuits, eggs, and gravy. It was good. Not necessarily something j would crave or come back for but it was good. I did really like the mango mimosa. And the grits I would definitely recommend. This location is on a street corner and parking is limited. I would give it more of a chance to try some different things.

Dee is my favorite server, and All of the staff are great. Food is always yummy and the coffee is super strong to jolt me into overdrive! Southern Scramble is my favorite dish and this signature plate is like no other! From soul food sides like Mac n cheese and collard greens then grits to lighter fare like salads there’s something for everyone — even vegetarian options. Top that with ambience blessed with portraiture from local artists as well as indoor and outdoor seating and Flying Biscuit is always a winning choice. Enjoy!

This place has some absolutely excellent food! However the hostess was a bit hard to take. She had one of those«I’m going to pick at you» sense of humor. They serve mostly breakfast food and it’s all organic. I no health nut but the food is great and it’s healthy

Well, its. Sunday morning, feeling refreshed as i slept like a baby the night before, me and the wifey decided to go get some breakfast. Haven’t been to this place in quite sometime so we agreed to try it again. We like the alternative food selection they offer. Arrived, put our names on the list and the wait wasn’t that long, 15 mins i believe. We later sat down, buttt, at a table right next to the door, we should have said we’ll wait until the next one but hunger clouded my judgement at that point and we took it. Not a good decision on our part as the hostess’s both was behind us right next to the entrance, same as the door, which was kept at minutes at a time, and with this Georgia cold weather, we got a piece of that cold every time. Oh well, so we got some coffee to start. Later we ordered, wifey got some Pancakes and a side of turkey bacon, which was delicious, but a lot so she took half of it home, haha. I got turkey hash, which was pretty good, never had something like that. Eggs with cheese over turkey pot roast, over potatoes. Delicious, and paired with their popular sweet biscuit. Overall, good location and staff, waiter was nothing but helpful and always there when we asked. We will be back in the future at some point.
