Since there’s no listing yet, never mind a review, let’s change that with one fell swoop. Latitude 33 is the only restaurant/coffee shop/bar at this Hilton, which is arguably our most frequent HAFH when we go to Atlanta(at least 3 – 4 times a year). Décor is nice, with everything from furnishing to the wall accessories modern and classy. The service here can be spotty at times though: wait staff who are hard to find even when the place is empty, and service(when they are around) that’s best described as «absent-minded» sometimes. Exhibit A: our waiter who finally brought us more coffee(after I chased him down clear across the room), but did not know to remove the two plates that we were obviously done with — until asked. At other times, we’ve had attentive, hard-working folks staff the place — so, the definition of ‘spotty’. What elevates the rating is a fairly decent spread in the morning. Other than the standard bacon, eggs, baked goods(and of course, grits!), they also had no fewer than 5 different kinds of fresh fruits in the buffet other than oranges, apples, and bananas, and some limited cold cuts and cheeses. What specifically prompted the 4-star thumbs-up was the availability of … blintzes! No, it’s not the healthiest food one could think of, but eating it felt DECADENT! The only thing missing was the mimosa or champagne. Over by the bar, they have a big screen TV — a good diversion for the weekday business traveller crowd who are ‘stuck’ in the hotel.
